I never got any results with Berberine and I went to the gym 3 days a week and changed my diet. Maybe I need to try this

Is it true that you shouldn't take berberine long-term? I've been trying to find a temporary replacement to substitute it every now and then. I take it to dampen postprandial sugar spikes.

I lost 15 lbs taking a berberine plus. It's called Glucose Guard. It has apple cider vinegar ginseng cinnamon and tumeric as well. I did completely lose the weight in my butt! It used to be perfect and now it's really flat. But it also tackled a lot of abdominal fat that I had. I started at 155 lbs, and am now 140. But I was down to 136. This is over a 6 month period. I also limit sugar to almost zero. I recently started taking an antidepressant that is causing me to eat a bit more. That may be the recent uptick back into the 140s.

I also have history of two blood clots due to a genetic mutation and take Eliquis 10mg/day. My hematologist advised against taking berberine together with Eliquis. So I stopped taking berberine. It is now known that Metformin increases lactic acid production because it binds to a specific transport protein in the mitochondrial membrane which reduces the amount of ATP generated. Does the same effect occur using berberine instead? And does dehydro berberine create the same effect? What is the distinction in mitochondrial metabolism between these two forms of berberine. I noticed that one of the berberine molecules has been protonated resulting in a net positive charge on the nitrogen atom within that heterocyclic ring. Does that positive charge make a huge difference in bioavailability and in the amount of lactic acid production? If there is lactic acid production, which one of them increases that effect? Can you please respond to me ASAP? Thank you

Theralogix makes a product called Ovasitol that is the ideal ratio of myo to D inositol for pcos. I think it’s a 40:1 ratio. It’s well established to be beneficial for pcos.

Great video doc! Can this dihydroberberine be taken without swallowing the whole capsule? In other words, will it be of any benefit in opening the capsule and mixing the powder in some plain or vanilla yogurt and taken orally? I've had some problems with swallowing larger capsules. I too may try that. I'll alternate am and pm dosing between the two. I'm not diabetic, but those cholesterol numbers and my weight...well, let's just say at 69 inches weighing 195 on a good day...lol...is not good. I'm working on it.

I am not diabetic.
I took berberine to help in weight loss. Also, I have high blood pressure and have been taking lisinopril for years.
I had a doctor's visit in November. The only thing I had added to my diet was berberine, which of course I mentioned to her.
When she told me my current bp, I was so shocked that I asked her to check the results again! My bp was down over 35 points,.
We're all so busy reading about berberine for weight loss/blood sugar that we ignore the mention of b. as helpful in controlling bp.
I'm not losing weight, but b. has definitely fone domething valuable for me.
Re siide effects: I had terrible indigestion the first 10 days. Then I began taking it with food and about 12 ounces of liquid. Ptoblem solved snd i agree eith you 100 percent in desling with this particular digestive issue. 😊😊
What you are missing is that berberine can make blood pressure fall too much if one is already taking medicine for hypertension. People with high blood pressure should NOT take berberine if already taking this medicine. Google "who should not take berberine?" and you will get the same answer.
Linisopril, is very bad for your heart!! Especially if you have a slight cough, since starting this med, it’s an allergic reaction to the medication. Consult your physician immediately!!!!

I tried the chromium picolinate and I noticed that my kidney function test showed a lower normal. Once I stopped it, my kidney function normal values increased so I’m very wary about chromium.

I tried to Dihydrate Berberine and the fax was not as good as regular Berberine at all so I went back to my Berberine
TY. I start itching after taking Berberine. I have never responded that way with any other food, except for kiwi. This am I took two different antihistamines. So far, no itching. Would you advise not doing that? Is it thinking I’m tricking my body, when something as nefarious happens over here/there.

For my dad who died weeks ago diabetes 1000mg a day was sufficient worked better than Metformin
Probably 400mg. I read somewhere where 200 mg of the dihydroberberine is equivalent to 1000 mg of the regular Berberine.

I have tried berberine but it gave me terrible stomach aches. Started with small dosage and went to the recommended dosage. Tried with food, before eating and after eating as well Tried different brands and no luck so far. Do you think this variation would have the same effect ?Thank you

I tried Berberine a few months ago and the stomach pain was so awful I almost went to ER.

While not diabetic, my A1C is higher than my doctor would like. I asked him about berberine and dihydroberberine and says that they can work. However, I asked my cardiologist about it and she told me "You are on Eliquis, DO NOT TOUCH THEM." According to her, "Berberine has been found to inhibit certain enzymes in the liver that are responsible for metabolizing drugs, including Eliquis. This can result in increased levels of Eliquis in the bloodstream, potentially leading to an increased risk of bleeding."
I can't come off the Eliquis due to a previous DVT/PE with no obvious cause such as surgery or an injury. Would love to try it, but I don't dare.
