For your sewing projects you may need a refresher on placing patterns on grain, etc, it makes a difference on how easily it pieces together, seams, zippers, etc.

Hi Ladies thank you for another fun podcast with your gorgeous inspirational knits.Your sewing projects take me back to my Student Nurse days (1981-1984)I lived in the Nurses home and a few of us had sewing machines. We would go to the local market on our days off and buy material for our nights out as it was so much cheaper than buying new clothes, and more fun.i remember many of them,I also knitted many items too.One the girls I lived with crocheted her wedding dress it was beautiful.I carried on sewing for a while but haven’t done any for approximately 25 years (where did that time go!)I look forward to seeing your future projects Happy knitting and sewing 🧶💐

I am currently obsessing over sweater and sock knitting. I wanted a few nice/neutral cardigans to wear when I go back into the office next week and watching all these knitting podcasts has really gotten me into sock knitting. I got 52 weeks of socks from my library and can't wait to dive in. Also wanted to add, I'm hoping by summer, I will be working on a cable sweater, but I don't know where to start as I have pictures of one I want to duplicate but no experience in design so I am researching that.

I’m finishing up my birds of a feather shawl, then I plan to pick up my Argil tank I started last summer! I also have plans to sew some Barry pants and a wool fork dress. Halla patterns has a pattern called knotty pants that I want to sew in some black stretch bamboo too!
Ooh and I have some silk fabric that I plan to make a button down tank with, but I’ll probably sew a version out of cotton or linen first to make sure I know what I’m doing!

I agree about too much stash being stressful! My LYS went out of business because the owner retired, and I’m drowning in 50% off yarn I wouldn’t normally buy. How would you both describe your personal styles? And how did you figure out what they were? I am trying to be intentional about the patterns I choose to knit and how they will fit into my wardrobe, but sometimes it is hard to figure out how a pattern/color with translate into my closet before I knit it 😅

That’s a good question and honestly one that I don’t think either of us have a solid answer too! We’ve just both found that we tend to gravitate towards certain colors and styles, so we try to stick to making things we know we’ll actually use, but still leave room for creativity! 😊
