It’s over a week later, I didn’t even know this man personally, & I still can’t stop the flowing tears for the loss of this beautiful man-& for what his family is going through. #skyking 🕊

I hate the way the mainstream media covers stories. It treats us like idiots. It feigns astonishment at the obvious. It pretends to hold the moral high ground. It's becomes more and more fake till now it's just a joke. Hang around an airport, do research, you can learn how to take off and fly. Landing would have been the issue. Russel has added a level of fear to the whole flying situation, though. Ground crew are not a big security problem but now we all have to pretend they are.
G M starting an airplane is one thing. What's puzzling is how he was able to do all that. He does a pretty steep bank... how do you do that and not stall and lose lift? I'm pretty sure the plane's alarms were going off left and right when he did those maneuvers.
we just want to MATTER.... and have a sense of control and SAY... impossible with the modern technicalities of life and SEA of people(all with differing opinions on how things should work) Ted Kacynsky was right
He grew up playing video games and flight simulator games. He worked around aircraft. A google search of specific plane airspeed specs and he is golden to go out in a big way. He never planned to survive the joyride, obvious by his statements. No one remembers the guy who hangs him self... he was intelligent and determined to go out big. The tragedy here is he obviously was a great guy with the ability to do whatever he wanted. Waste :(
Sometimes you’re just done with life. Suicide is not as bad as people make it out to be. My little brother killed himself a decade ago and it changed my whole view on the topic. If you feel as if everyday is a true struggle… rather it be financially or health wise then sometimes death is true peace. And since not all of us are religious then choose the best way to leave this planet. And this guy chose an awesome way out!! True legend.
I'm sorry for your loss and if course youre right. If youre ready to leave try to do it where you dont take anyone else with you. The tragedies are the people who annihilate their entire family or buy an AR 15 and murder a bunch of innocent lives. Those are the tragic losses.

So very sad. This guy lost his mind for a few minutes, then realized his life changing mistake. Just so sad. He chose suicide versus what he thought would be life imprisonment. In reality, this would likely have been a simple and sure lock for temporary insanity, with months or a couple of years in psychiatric therapy. So so sad.

Someone below said he endangered and INCONVENIENCED people that day: I contend that he didn't. Maybe if he had "inconvenienced" a few people before he got into that plane . . . This wouldn't have happened. Someone in his life should have known he was struggling. He wanted one last experience before he left this world and he didn't want to take anyone out with him. I worked in the basement of a community college aa a work study. There was a man whose desk was jammed in the corner of the office. We had no windows, no mirrors to reflect light. No plants or even posters on the wall. I don't know how long he worked there but he intimidated me. I didn't feel like I could say good morning or even Hi because I thought it would disturb him. I barely heard him say anything. Then one day we learn that he had committed suicide. A grown man ashamed to speak to his parents. The fact that he was Asian or rather that his parents were had a lot to do with him ending his life. Apparently he felt he waa a constant disappointment to them. His parents printed his suicide note and handed it out at his funeral to the mourners. Sometimes, "we" just don't know what struggles the person working beside us is going thru. So, please don't be so quick to judge. Even if you think you know. You probably don't. At least he didn't grab an AR 15 and decide to murder children and he didn't choose to slam that plane into a building or school or rush hour traffic. He didn't choose suicide by cop either. I hope his family have found some peace in his loss. RIP.
11:00 Richard had started both engines on the dash 8, prior to pushing the aircraft back and if you watch the footage carefully, you'll see that the engines were fully engaged to the point, when he released the tow bar and tug and ran to open the cabin door the aircraft was already moving ahead on its own. You do not need two people to 'move' an airplane. It can easily be done by one person, however, we have two people for safety and redundancy.

That's why aircrafts need an ignition key.
Stop calling people by their last names. Call them by their first names.
I am surprised that planes don't have an authorization code that needs to be entered before the plane is allowed to start the engines.
They don't. With the kind of simulator that exist today, you can learn to fly any aircraft
There are 2 pilots for safety if one gets a heart attack.
it dosent take more than 1 person to push a plane with a tug. planes such as those are stupid easy to fly as single pilot

I think he knew where he was going to crash in that unpopulated area .
It was a populated island, though. He had no way of knowing that there were not people at the crash location.
@@GH-oi2jf You dont know that. He could have scoped out areas long before he got in that plane.

where was the ground security in that section of airport
hp2179 he was ground crew, they have access to the cockpit of planes so they can taxi them around the runway.
He was an employee, worked there over 3 years and had proper security clearance.
