The Range Rover Sport is more modern and easier to manoeuvre than the Range Rover proper - and is nearly as good off-road. It has a wonderfully designed, beautifully finished interior, loads of space and an enormous boot. For keen drivers, there's the brutally fast and fuel guzzling 5.0-litre Supercharged version. If money really is no object, go for that one. For the rest of us, the 3.0-litre diesel is still brilliant, and at least 50 per cent more economical.

Hi Mat here. I understand your comments about the off-roading shots being a bit tame. Unfortunately, where we film that's all we have access to off-roading wise. I have tried the RR Sport on much more serious terrain before so can comment on its ability. And while we could film at a more extreme location that would take a lot more time and money which would mean we wouldn't be able to film as many videos for as we currently do. We think you'd prefer more vids than a few 'proper' off-road shots.
I still wish to own this car one day.

I used to hate the way these things looked but they’re growing on me over time, still not a huge fan on how the headlights are angled inward slightly though

Nothing compares to driving a RR, they are brilliant, doesn't matter how newer or faster a car is because you just feel like your in a tank. BUT you better have a few grand put away if you own one of these because when things do go wrong, believe me they are not cheap. If a turbo needs to be replaced your pretty much f***ed.
Probably one of the most reliable models in the Range Rover line up! Still going strong after 40K miles on the odometer! Make sure you have a warranty and if you don’t get rid of it!

The camera system is awesome. Multiple views. Very nice touch. Too bad the repair record sucks big time. I'd jump on this on a second if the reputation was stronger.

People who say it's unreliable crap either don't have one be cuz they hate the brand or they own one but can't take it in for service every 6 months and when something breaks they don't get it fixed then things will get worse then they will talk crap about it range rover isn't unreliable if ur a good caring owner then u will have a reliable safe luxury suv
The 2012 model year Range Rover Sport was released around the time of the '11 / '61 plate change. Either that, or it is on a private plate. The 8 speed gear box with the rotary selector and the new tailgate system were introduced for the 2012 model year.

Range rovers only have poor reliability because people dont know how to look after them. My P38 Range Rover did over 300,000KM and never missed a beat, most reliable vehicle i have owned. Now gone to a sport 3.6 TDV8 and its amazing, and very cheap to run.

my friends mum has a '10 plate sport supercharged 5.0 v8 supercharged i love the car
my friend john had one it was nothing but trouble....everything went wrong front wheel bearings £500.00 each....variable vain turbo £4500.00 to repair they had to take the bodywork off the chassis to get at it....water leaks and a overheating £2500...... engine management problems with the injection system another £1695.00.....and when he tried to get rid of the dam thing they wouldn't even give him £4500.00 for it and it cost him £19000 to buy it with a full land rover service history from Cheltenham land rover at Staverton Britain.....he bought a toyota land cruiser and has had no problems at all with it.

quite a simple answer, they are made in the UK hence so many about. For those who can afford them a great car if you trade in just before the warranty expires but not a great used buy.
The depreciation of Rangerovers is hudge and sums up the long term reliability.
Paul F thank you very much , don’t know really what to do , likeky will take the risk , and if things go wrong will let it go and not repair ( ie : air suspension repair ...) the driving position is the best ever ... ! I have a ML in case of ... ( very reliable ). ..

My wheel bearings were replaced at a garage for 187 pound including the bearings so how did yours cost 1000 pound or did you make that up

this is my dream car
It is a 2012 model, probably released just before the plate change. The standard electric tailgate and the 8-speed gear box evident from the rotary shifter give it away as a 2012 model.
This is the type of car i want to be showing off when im older and can pay the tax on it.Best car ever.:D

“The tailgate is automatic and is standard On all cars”.... I wish that was the case but the truth is that it only became standard on the facelift models and in particular the 2012 and 2013 final years of the L320

always been a bit of a sucker for range rovers, they are just such good vehichles with everything you could possibly want out of a 4x4.
Looking at getting an early (2006-2008) one. Anyone here have any experience/feedback they can share? Economy-wise, the 2.7 TD looks the best option, since the lack of speed doesn't put me off.

Diesels are horrible when it comes to reliability
Your Best shot is to purchase a 4.2L supercharged which is crazy reliable and a lot of fun
I own one and I can confirm that I didn't have major issues with it with 120k miles on the clock and still going strong
If you're not looking to put a massive dent in your wallet, make it run on LPG
There are a few places in the UK where they convert it reliably, But I'm 7k kilometers away... so $400 is spent on gas every month

@@Toophunn thanks! Yeah the Lexus is better than RR in every way except looks in my opinion (although the appearance does grow on you!) O-60 time of 7.6 secs and combined mpg of 33/34mpg is impressive for a car of this size!

the sport came out after the vogue hence it's younger and since it's built on the same platform you could think of it as a twin.
i preferred the pre facelift exterior but the new facelift interior is better

Still can't decide - Discovery 4 SDV6 HSE, Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE or Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8. Logic says the Disco or the Sport, solely because they make more financial strength but the heart says go all out and get the Vogue SE.
I love Range Rovers ever since... really on of the best cars in the world for me. However I must admit that the new Mercedes GL generation kick ass.)

trust me, with any normal car it would slide and if it takes too much speed on the way down it may even turn and tip over, try it yourself :D

I like the RR HSE , super view high position the best I think !! clean ! BUT SO UNRELIABLE !!!! Is it better since engine before 2012 have some issues according to some reports !! Scary !!! The video is not helping to make a decision !!

As long as it has a good service history and is in good condition , it'll be fine . I'm in Africa and we receive a lot of cars with 100k plus mileage and they drive amazing .

they are only about £10k but they all have over 140k or even 350k. they lose warranty after 60k or 6 years. they aren't very good investments
