I got this. Almost 8 years now. No issues yet. it is reliable if serviced on time. And yeah have checked it off road. It is good and passes through anything

Can I just point out that because Land Rover and Jaguar is owned by Tata Motors it doesn't make it an Indian car.
Tata Motors basically owns a larger share of the company. This means it gets to appoint the company's Board Of Directors and influence management of the company.
But it doesn't make it Indian. The cars are designed, manufactured and headquartered in the UK.
It is British!
I agree. It's a British car and a very good British car just like Jaguar.
The fiance and ownership of the company is clearly Indian.
But the engineering and manufacturing is old British industry. I wish the rest of British industry was this successful and productive.

This car has aged remarkably well, and it seems to be reliable, since it’s still very expensive in the used market.

As a North American (Canada), I get a kick out of the British and Europeans calling these types of cars "huge" or "massive." Where I'm from, these are relatively modest sized vehicles. You guys should try getting into a Sierra, or a Yukon. You'd probably die of space.
Big cars in America would be suitably classified as small semi-trailers or minibuses in other places. Those things are bloody huge.
Areus White but UK roads are bendy and narrow . So you would die in a hummer or a Yukon from going into a car , a field or a ditch .lol

Shit shape. it looks like evoque from back etc. Old shape is much better and looks great. Range rover sport lost its originality. shit shape new one.
But the new one is better in every way. The old one was a drug dealers discovery.
It may not be perfect, but Ill take this over any VW Porsche shitenne.
The Sport is a brilliant car, my dad has had his for 15 months now and we love it, will be getting another next year....

still unreliable cars. driven a v8 supercharged. twice the battery died. once it pretended to die, wouldnt start for 20 mins, left it for 10 mins and then tried again and no problem. one time tried to start it, "gearbox failure" Land Rover said, just leave it for 10 mins and try agian. it started perfectly. bizarre
+I just wondered how long my UA-cam name could get and it turns out it is quite long. Very long
You own a British car; that a reputation of Land Rover and British cars in general! It part of its legacy going back to 1900s. Every one know that British cars are not known for reliability!

Honestly, I love it. It's true there is sth special about it. Really like the minimized buttons in comparison to Cayenne's very busy spaceship-like buttons. And my day-to-day X5 is nowhere luxurious to match with the English superior not to mention the off-road ability.
I think this should be my first car. I like Range Rovers.
I’ve never has any reliability issues with my range rovers. I’ve had them in NZ and UK. No issues. Just serviced them as scheduled. Love them, I stick with them now. So smooth to drive and a great ride on the air suspension and fantastic driving position. 👌I would highly recommend one 👌

No other SUV beta than A RANGE ROVER...
Reliability a big problem though. My air suspension fails about once every 5 months and need replacing. But it's definitely worth it

Just because it does not handle as well as a Porsche Cayenne does not mean it's not sporty at all. That's stupid, everyone knows the Cayenne is the best handling SUV.
depends. This is a lot smoother, and has all the comodities of a new SUV. But i would always take the G65 because it looks like A BEAST!

Dnt knw y so mch hue and cry abt land rover being owned by an indian company..this dsnt take away the fact that its still britain and manufactured in britain...they only put the money and it was owned by ford before tata and that didn't made land rover american ..

What car was he reviewing? No paddle shifters, no dynamic mode. Try the supercharged version on a back road in dynamic road compared to a Cayenne S. I did, easy call to call with the R.R.
It is available as an option just like the Cayenne there is Cayenne S, there is Range Rover Sport Dynamic.

Yes understood. Just saying that he's testing a watered down version of this car as the supercharged one in dynamic mode absolutely rocks. My experience is that it's a thrilling car to drive compared to the Cayenne S which is why there's now one in my garage.
Strange it doesn't have paddle shifters, my dads HSE (same model as this) has them and we didn't pay extra for them. AFAIK they come standard, maybe it changed as this one looks like a pre production version.

why doesn't the big range rover have three rows of seats i bet the leg room wouldn't be so terrible especially with the long wheel base model
I really like this one, but I always find it difficult to understand Land Rover range of products. You have freelander, discovery, evoque, range rover sport and range rover - OK, they differ in size, but not so much, actually, so they are different of course, but it would be hard to decide witch one suits you best, if you are not after the "limo" range rover.

I love rang rovers but your right its just so unreliable! I just dont understand why I paid so much money for a car that always gives me problems. If rang rover get their act together and make cars with toyota reliability and rang rover interior and style you got my full support....forever!
Nobody makes cars with "toyota reliability" other than the Japanese themselves. You buy Italian/German/British/French for other reasons.

No it's for people who wanna buy a Range Rover but cannot afford a Vogue. Why are people so ignorant, comparing it to the Vogue all the time? The Sport should be compared to the X5, Q7, ML and is way superior than all of them so why should it be phased out?

Nick Simpson I don't know why he's so bothered by Range Rover success. Bentleys are 3x more expensive and unreliable but no one complains about that

It's a great SUV no doubt, maybe even the finest but I HATE the looks. I like my SUVs to be boxy and beefy not sporty and rounded. It reminds me of a mini van.
yes, the Range Rover also looks to me like a van, specially with those lights with that thing going on the sides like a lot of mini vans and hatchbacks
Technically, the G Class is the only SUV you'd like. I see your point, by the way, but the Range Rover is actually quite masculine, unlike the Cayenne, ML, and others!
In all fairness I see no reason buying the Sport when you can buy the "proper" Range Rover if you fork out a bit extra cash.
The "proper" Range Rover rides better, has larger load bays and looks smoother than the Sport.

So G wagons and wranglers are what you like. I like wranglers, but find the G wagon to be ugly. Range Rover Sport is definitely the best looking SUV.

Germans car may be good but they are undoubtedly boring and ugly. British engineering may not be as good and accurate as the Germans but God look at those leather interior and the styling

The X5 looks much better IMO. Besides the looks, RRs have very low reliability. I was shocked to find out that one of the latest recalls involved the doors being unlatched. Driving like a royal and falling out of the vehicle... in style,

I live in Alaska and drive a 2013 Range Rover Sport, great in snow, dirt roads and overall ha been a great car
My dad lives in Nigeria and he is getting a 2019 Range Rover sport and my mum was looking at a 2015 one and although they look similar they are completely different

like the honest review especially from a british guy who does a review from a british car. i wonder if they fixed the reliability issues on the newer models and the other issues like the display resolution/responsiveness etc... but for now the porsche is on the top of my list.
It is a tank, lol...I love how they take up a full parking bay, I park close to the drivers door when people park in shopping centers when I see big 4x4's..so the knob who brought it cannot get in. Not a city or suburban car folks.

When it runs ,it is the best but it has a lot of issues of reliability which makes it a bad purchase! Bring a few production control engineers from Lexus and learn how to be reliable!
The Range Rover Sport is a beautiful but high performance car.Its appeal is timeless.

No, definitely not as bad as people think. My dad has had his 2014 Sport for 15 months and haven't had a single problem with it. It's a truly outstanding car and we will be getting another one next year.
If you have to say that you haven't had a problem YET that means you will have a problem considering they are known for being unreliable.
It's a shame they have such a bad reliability reputation, that these would have to be rock solid proven for me to consider one in the used market

You are always saying that a BMW X3/5 is better in steering/handling or so, but BMW's are useless in winter conditions, even with Xdrive. Everybody knows this.

X5 and Cayanne are nowhere near as good as this car and I know this as I have driven all three. The RRS is far in advance of those German jokes of off roaders, with the RRS being better detailed inside and much better looking especially the cayenne, which looks like a frog
Just because the BMW is German you should rather buy the x5. Simply, German cars are a lot better than UK cars.

Great video, pointless car. At the expense of reliability, all this will do is impress your friends. I'm puzzled by those who would spend all this cash on a new car, and then go beat it up off road, but I know they exist.
You have answered your own question - dont see the point, "its people who want the status who buy this". Thats exactly what it is meant for. Range rover has always been for those who seek to stand out.
Guys at Carbuyer, keep your eyes peeled for next year's or the coming year's version. AFAIK, the Jaguar XF for 2014 will have a better HDD that is clearer and works faster. If a similar system is installed in the Range Rover Sport in the coming years, which I think they would, maybe you guys could do a quick review of it... XD
Hard to credit that they are STILL talking about reliability issues. Their own Driver-Power survey rated the disco 4 8/150 for owner satisfaction which wouldn't have happened had Land Rovers still been building unreliable cars. Factories are on 3 shifts trying to meet demand...
