This is correct, we always support the small businesses close to our accommodation. Often we look where the locals eat or the people who work in the neighbourhood go on their lunch, it never seems go wrong ♥️🫶👍
Hi Dan & Anna,the sauce comes with fresh spring rolls (Gỏi Cuốn)is called hoisin sauce. You should pour the bottle fish sauce in the small bowl & add chilli then pour the chilli fish sauce over the rice.(It's called cơm tấm comes with mixed fish sauce so it's sweet and salty fish sauce. Should not eat with soy sauce😂). Hope it helps and Enjoy!

The soul of Vietnamese food is broth and dipping sauce. If you know how to use and mix the correct sauce, the flavor will be upgraded.
So just ask the owner how to eat it first next time, and they will show you how to use the sauce.
We have noticed that they are very helpful and want us to eat in the correct way otherwise it will not taste the best. We appreciate it a lot 🫶🫶♥️
Well done, the rice, egg and pork chop dish you need to mix it with the fish sauce bag it came with. It’s a lighter and sweeter fish sauce than straight fish sauce from the bottle you ate with. Have fun

Hello, at 20:00 minutes in. The sauce is hoison sauce mostly used in the "pho" or other summer rolls mixed with peanuts. What you're eating are pork ears summer rolls😊.

Those rolls are spring rolls. Refreshing appetizer for sure. Usually comes in shrimp, pork or whatever is available at there carts. Dipping sauce (oyster sauce or peanut sauce) is the key to good spring’s rolls as well

25:19 you eating it wrong way. you see that tiny bag of fish sauce they give you beside the dish ? that is the special sauce to put in rice and mix it up . the sauce got mix well with sugar and alot of different ingridience

Awww , at 26 minutes in that is call "com tam thit nuong trung". There was a small fish sauce in the bag that's is less fishy, were for the dish you're eating. The sauce in the bottle was raw/salter and not diluted yet. I hope this help you.

Not everything is soy sauce 😂😂. Glad you enjoyed the food though ❤. Hope to see you try more delicious food. Have you tried Vietnamese stuffed crepe yet ? Called banh xeo. It's quite popular. There is so much good food to try, I'm jealous. Also, bun cha hanoi, what obama ate when he visited Vietnam, it's bbq meat with noodles, herbs, and fish sauce. There are good traditional Vietnamese food out there. I wouldn't say doner kebab is traditional 😅.

Just so you know Hanoi is the capital of Mienbac which is north of Vietnam. Saying north Vietnam is an oxymoron because the word nam means south.

The sauce you eat with spring rolls (gỏi cuốn) is hoisin sauce mix with peanut butter. Gỏi cuốn is one of my favorite foods. 😍
Also, Hoisin sauce is what you put in Phở, not soy sauce.

Try bánh mì, phở bò (beef noodles soup), bún chả, gỏi cuốn (spring rolls), cà phê trứng, cà phê cốt dừa (egg coffee/coconut coffee) in Hanoi. Some words you can use: Bao nhieu tien = how much, hai = two, khong duong = no sugar
