    You'd get a little more velocity with a heavier recoil spring too, it will keep the breach locked slightly longer.

    Is it possible that your thumb on your supporting hand had hit the slide release with the recoil? Your left hand looks a bit high and could be causing the problem with locking your slide back.

      I don't think so Its just with the massive 220 grainers, next Saturdays video is the 180's that worked fine.

    You insinuated the gun went back to Kimber with the recoil spring weight comment. Is this the case and what work did they perform?

      It did go back to Kimber watch this video for what they did.

    Is it the heaviest 10 mm auto ammo?

    • @biged7175
      @biged7175  2 роки тому +5

      Yes 220 grain will be the heaviest 10mm.

      No. Double tap makes a 230gr for 10mm

    • @Edmondson_Avenue
      @Edmondson_Avenue Рік тому +2

      No too both, there a 240gr by Hornaday but you have to find who sells them as ammunition, but if you reload you can buy the components and roll them yourself, 240gr is the heaviest thus far for 10mm Auto.

      No, and define heavy? These will not stop a charging bear. Here in Alaska, they just go right through the bear. If by heavy you mean penetration, yes, it's great. The range is great, but for a bear, you need all that energy released at once. If you try it out on a deer, you'll see what I mean, it'll take a chunk out of the deer and then go through the deer, but the deer will stand there for a bit and not fall over for a minute or two. That's lethal if it is a charging bear. It will kill the bear, yes, but not until the bear has had time to reach you and horriblly maul you.
      Food for thought.
      Have a nice day.

      @Edmondson_Avenue Actually, I have found if you handload manufacture the rounds yourself, you can make it more powerful than 240 grain. The issue I find is the right kind of springs to withstand the firing, also, with that much power, you tend to wear through barrels pretty fast. Recoil is also quite pronounced.
