"We love a rose because we know it will soon be gone; who ever loved a stone!" The poignant words of "Forever Autumn", sung so beautifully by you, Justin, pull at the heart strings.
I have happy memories of a walk in the autumn leaves with my brother, who sadly passed away a few weeks later aged 19. Beautiful version, so stunning. 💖
This song is like Nights, in a way. It never gets easier listening to this song. Why? Because Justin's words pull you in, and you can actually see the sun shining through the trees, as she comes to love him and through the falling leaves, you can see her leaving. Yes, the year is getting older, as it is getting colder, causing his heart to struggle because she is not there. Justin has not only the talent of writing such beautiful but sad words, but you can see as he tells his story and feel his anguish at the undisturbed leaves where once they crackled as the two lovers walked in the autumn sun, which can be a beautiful time of year. But when your heart has been broken one cannot help but not see beauty. His eyes weep and his heart aches because she is not there. How sad is that. Someone once said to me that they love to watch a sad movie on a rainy day so they can cry in their hot chocolate. Not me. I've had too much sadness in my life that I do not need a song nor movie to cry in my hot chocolate laced with rum! But this song, as in Nights in White Satin, draws me to it like a moth to a flame and once again I get the same feeling that this song brings. The words are beautifully sad, especially with Justin singing it. No one can sing it better than he. September 22 cannot come fast enough, as that is when hubby and I go to see Justin in concert, and three things one can be sure of and that is you will have a great time watching your favorite singer standing in front of you as he sings, hearing the familiar hint of the beginning of Nights, and hearing the flute in the beginning of Forever Autumn. One can take that to the bank.
@Don1103 Yes I know this. I have been to many of Justin's solo shows when he comes to Maryland and he sings that song after telling the story of how it came about and even his wife telling him it is not that good of a song. He did not listen. People love it like they love Nights but it is just as sad as Nights.
Every time I've ever heard this song, from way back when, it has always truly touched my soul. The music, the words, Justin's wonderful voice... Now, seeing him do it in concert, with such passion! Blows me away.
My favourite version of Justin Hayward singing Forever Autumn live in 1998..he is perfection in this full live version...its timeless and still sings it well today on his solo tours. 💕🎶🎵🎶
Loved this gig. If Tuesday Afternoon sessions ever return I'd love to see you do Remember Me (My Friend) from the Blue Jays album. One of my absolute favourites!
There is a beautiful song Justin sings, but you cannot find it on his albums. The song is called On the Road, and he did it for Alan Simon and entitled My British Side. I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. I accidentally stumbled across this song one day and gave it a listen, and then I went and bought the song from iTunes. I was so happy one could buy it from iTunes. I know nothing about the history of this song only that I loved it from the beginning.
Wow Fabulous Justin Hayward. I adore this song however it makes me cry for some reason Help why do i do this lol. One of the most beautiful songs ever written sung to perfection as always by Justin. Regards Martin Guy in Nottingham UK.
22:54 AEST Sat.31.July.2021, Tas.Australia; Forever Autumn: Justin's voice & guitar paint passion, commitment, despair emotion. True Chamber music: you are watching & feeling each other's rhythm. The Way Of The World: love "the good and the kind...'cause we are all equal underneath the sun", optimistic. Love Keyboards in both & This uplifting prolific concert. Thank you very much.
Justin really goes Deep with his emotional Voice painting a beautiful painting in our minds to does make you cry but thank you Justin! I gave you the swallow Pin:
Will you be making a stop to play your lovely music at The Staller Center at Stonybrook University on Long Island, NY anytime in the future?. We would love to see you and hear your music!!!
You sound very similar to your same voice, when just a lad. Greg Lake as back-up, brilliant. You sound best with your mates, the Moody's. Rarely do I hear othe that are on par with you. You are a treasure, and you keep that gift from God. . . .must be excited to wait for both tours. Enjoy some breezes I hope, when you get to California. 🌊🐬🕊️
Greg Lake....may he RIP. I miss him so. I play most particularly songs that he sang with ELP like Lucky Man, In the Beginning, Still You Turn me On (I love that song) and C'est la vie. He got beautiful sounds from his Gibson J200
Justin was in great voice that evening. This is the most Moody Blues song ever done by a writer outside of the group. I can't hear it but think that Justin wrote it as well (knowing that he didn't).
@@LizbethPlenty, I believe it was written by Jeff Wayne who used it as part of his "War of the Worlds" album in the 1970's. I imagine it sounded a lot different originally and have to believe that Justin put his touch on the song in both words and music.
To all the friends and family who have passed away this song hits home
The first 100 times I have listened to this song, it made me shed tears…..100,000 listens later it still tugs the ole battery pack! 🕊
Timeless beautiful tune still sung brilliantly by justin. Tugs at the ole battery pack haha great comment.
I'm right with you!! LISTENING TO IT OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!! A MASTERPIECE!!
Lost someone in Autumn a season we both loved. This definitely tugs at the heart ❤
The always fabulous Justin Hayward, following him for over 50years.
Timless and eternally beautiful music. I am 71 and been with the Moodies since they started. Never get tired of listening to Justin perform.
The same here, yes timeless and ethereal beautiful music, a great voice. Many people do not get it, but I do.
Justin is a romantic and his songs tug at your heartstrings 🍃
This song will never grow old. I especially loved it in "War of the Worlds"
...Jeff Wayan's "War of the Worlds".
The best version yet. This song always makes me cry, but only when Justin sings it.

This version is better than the original studio version 😊

for all of those we have loved and lost, they will be forever in our hearts 💞
I first heard this on a tinny radio in a caravan, on a holiday in Wales. I must have been about 5. It's never left me.
Those fallen leave's lay undisturbed now, because you're not here. Oh how true, when a love has gone, you feel empty..🥀🥀🥀🥀..2022.
YES....I KNOW THAT EMPTY FEELING....BUT THEY STILL STAY CLOSE BY....😇🙏💖
Always a favourite. Justin sings from the heart...keyboard accompaniment beautiful. Thank you Justin. 02/24
I love this song.
So, so beautiful. ❤️
This was my mum's favourite song 🌹

Really wish it was Autumn.... This heat is unbelievably ridiculous.
But I love this song and am really looking forward to this premiere 💙🎵🍂
July has always been the dog days of summer. We have had some relief today and hopefully we will get some rain, as the rain keeps missing our farm!
@@ladyhecate9450 It was pretty cool today. I thought it was supposed to rain, but I haven't seen it do so....
@@zadescrivner at least it was cooler. Dry and very hot is the worse. It was cool and I loved it.
PERFECT......🙏😇🐦🌊🌬🌈
Because I lived nearby, my first time seeing Justin solo. Enjoyed it. Miss Paul Bliss too.
Another one of my favourites, beautiful. 🥰🥰
