A good clean informative vid, directed too the point with no unnecessary distractions. Keep it up. Safety equipment is no guarantee. I know a man that squashed his foot even though he was wearing steel toed boots. Being careful and paying attention is the best safety there is.
Excellent for first video. Good lighting and sharp focus. I will use thicker ply for the bottom or maybe 1 2x at each end. If the bottom distorts at all it will bind your saw. Every tool in your shop is out get you. No exposed feet!
This jig is a great idea, not just for perpendicular crosscuts, but with a few design tweaks it could readily be adapted to ripping bevel cuts as well. I recommend that when you show the tools you're using, be sure to get the whole tool into the into the picture. The speed square and combination square you displayed only made it about halfway down into the frame. Dittos on others' suggestions regarding foot protection. You first entry into you-tube is very useful. Keep at it, you'll do better and better with experience. PS - It's too bad that the first comments you received were offered by two selfish, negative "adult" brats who like to fight in public. While those types are unfortunately unavoidable, DON'T LET JERKS GET YOU DOWN! Keep you videos coming. 🙂
Thank you for the encouragement and support! I will post videos as often as I can, but it's challenging with middle school, plus I just got sick last week, and wasn't able to film. But I'm back now, and I have two upcoming videos!
Much better than any first video I could have done. I will give this project a try since I don't have a table saw or such. Thanks much and make us some more , soon. Peace!
Go for it!! Keep with the honesty - for example "...I've almost got it square..."! IMHO I would ather see the reality of the difficulty of cutting timber square than some slickly produced yet ultimately unsatisfactory vid. Besides, new talent, new ideas, new tube!!!
Great job for your first! Awesome to see that you take advice to prevent accidents! You were very professional and I take instruction better from someone who speaks like they know what they are doing. Keep posting!
Great video, and don't listen to those saying to wear closed toe shoes. Flip Flops are perfect as you will be able to find your toes faster when you cut them off!
Good job on your first video. Plenty of others made statements on saftey. Thats not just for yourself but can help teach others watching to learn that may not have the experience.
*Works great **MyBest.Tools** on 2 x 4s. My only complaint is that it eats batteries but that is not the saw's fault. Would be nice if it came with a bag like most other dewalt tools. The saw shoe changes for angles and depth of cut. Nice feature in a mini saw.*
Great job! You next project should be a workbench. There's a good plan on (build it with Bosch) I think his name is Ethan Holth. I used it to help me design my bench. Keep up the good work and watch our for those cute little piggies! Maybe if you get a pedicure you'll attract a wider (sort) of viewer.
This will help me with a project that I am doing. It involves cutting 32 pieces of 2x4 to 15 inch lengths. It will save me having to measure each cut. Thanks!
Fix those shoes! And thanks for the awesome tutorial. Very informative and a great build. Thank you for teaching me something new (new to me). And congratulations on a fine and worthwhile inaugural video. May it be the first of many. Excellent!
A very neat and useful piece of machinery for a starter- workshop. Well done ! I made one and it works well, , especially with my generator-powered saw out in the paddock away from the shed.Tthank you.
Highly impressive first video from a clever "young person"? Thank you for sharing such a brilliant idea that will contribute to the safe and efficient use of hand held circular saws. Please heed all constructive safety comments from the you tube community. Finally ignore the afflicted idiots who are jealous of your talented gifted skills. Good luck 📯
Thank you! I wish I had seen your video 2 weeks ago when I started on a project for my wife. I will be building one of your jigs this week. Excellent idea!
very well done. It is square enough for the most part. some of the miter saws you can buy are about that close anyway. strive for perfection but be satisfied with close as possible. The difference between a craftsman and a jackknife carpenter is the craftsmen knows how to hide is errors.
Nice job. I was able to follow you all the way through the video. I've been trying to find instructions that are simple and can be completed quickly. You won 😁 Thank you 🦄
great self contained jig. My bearings went out on my Ryobi contractor saw. So i decided to build some jigs to do everything that it does. To me this crosscut is far more safer than a table saw. I am using some used deck board for the slide supports and maybe some two by threes to make the supports. We will see. liked and sub
Great first video.. I want to make the jig but being a novice woman wood worker. I need more detailed information to get the job done. The video would be perfect for most people with a bit more experience. I guess I don't understand the basic concept of a jig. Also being older, I definitely would have to put the jig up higher or I wouldn't be able to stand up straight for a week I do think it helpful that you included the cut list in your film. Great to see a young guy in a healthy hobby rather than a video game. I will subscribe and watch your progress.
I think you did a great job on your video! I encourage you to do more! I'm surprised at some of the mean comments people have written... learn from them but don't let them discourage you. Keep up the good work!
I have watched several videos on how to make a cross cut jig and this is by far the easiest to follow. Thank you for the video.
Tim Davis Thanks! Good to know that!
Yeah Tim, I have to agree this is right to the point...
You did a fine job on the jig and on your first video.
Great first video. Got much better after you removed the respirator. Nice portable concept.
Simple and effective. The World needs more S'n'E. Thank You.
I have too say better than 50% of videos I've seen on UA-cam dealing with woodwork.
A good clean informative vid, directed too the point with no unnecessary distractions. Keep it up. Safety equipment is no guarantee. I know a man that squashed his foot even though he was wearing steel toed boots. Being careful and paying attention is the best safety there is.
Dusty Stahn Thanks!
I really like this jig. I literally started woodworking two weeks ago and this is the only jig I've seen that I'm willing to give a try, thanks.
Excellent for first video. Good lighting and sharp focus. I will use thicker ply for the bottom or maybe 1 2x at each end. If the bottom distorts at all it will bind your saw. Every tool in your shop is out get you. No exposed feet!
Yours has been the best at showing how to and angle of the video etc. Thank you ❤
Great idea! Better than having to pull out the table saw using the cross cut sled for a small cut. I plan on building this.
That's pretty cool. Nice if you don't have a table saw, and want more cutting room than a simple chop saw. Great job.
Good 1st video. Don't forget your safety gear.

This is a great and simple build. Thank-you. You were concise and clear. I am heading to my shop now.
how very clever and still better than cutting several bad cuts. Thank you Alfredo
Much better than any first video I could have done. I will give this project a try since I don't have a table saw or such.
Thanks much and make us some more , soon. Peace!
Good simple cheap effective build👍
Nice JOB. Congrats!
Very useful and simple build. The video was excellent. Keep up the great work!
Nice work. Useful looking jig. Thanks for sharing.
great effort. I suggest some shoes to protect your feet, especially after you make your bench.
Excellent Jig Design... Thanks a lot for sharing
Great and simple jig; Congrats
great jig. I am going to copy your brilliant idea and make myself a jig. Thank you so much for sharing your idea and hard work.
I think you did good, and don,t worry about perfect, nothing is. You keep doing wood work
Go for it!! Keep with the honesty - for example "...I've almost got it square..."! IMHO I would ather see the reality of the difficulty of cutting timber square than some slickly produced yet ultimately unsatisfactory vid. Besides, new talent, new ideas, new tube!!!
Felicitaciones por el video! Éxitos desde Montevideo, Uruguay! Germán
Smart jig! Good video! Great to see young people learning the craft.
Great Job! Your device is really a good tool for crosscutting.
Good idea for the skill saw. I'll make one right away.
Hi, congratulations these are the kind of jobs I like because they are easy to make, cheap and useful. Greetings from Mexico.
Your video is just fine. now I will be building a Jig for my saws. Thanks.

Nice work for a young man! Impressive!!
Great video and nice work bench
A brilliant way to cross cut, but safety comes first 👍
Great job for your first! Awesome to see that you take advice to prevent accidents! You were very professional and I take instruction better from someone who speaks like they know what they are doing. Keep posting!
Vicky Longcrier Thank you!!
You did a pretty good job
I like what you did, because I like jigs, they make work much more accurate and faster. thanks so much for sharing
Great job on your first video! It was short and to the point.
I will certainly try your simple but effective method. Thanks.
It's a brilliant first video... always take safety precautions though. Well done!
Making videos is WAY harder than it looks. I appreciate everyone who does it, as it's such a great learning tool.
This is the right jig for a poor man like me. Thank you for sharing Log Lab.
This will be my prototype for all my future designs and tweaks.
Cool idea. I'de like to try that for cutting countertops.
Excellent job - very creative.
J Wit Thanks!
Great video, and don't listen to those saying to wear closed toe shoes. Flip Flops are perfect as you will be able to find your toes faster when you cut them off!
Simply and very effective! Thanks!
It ain't fancy, but it gets the job done... What more could you ask for! Good job on the video too :)
Excellent, I like it and will make one for me. You explain it very well in a calming voice, that is sweet. Thank you very much. 👍👍.
great idea and presentation
Beat the crud out of the nails! That's exactly how I do it! Great video. Keep up the good work!
Good job on your first video. Plenty of others made statements on saftey. Thats not just for yourself but can help teach others watching to learn that may not have the experience.
great first video. would recommend clip describing the final steps of putting the whole thing together.
Yeah, next time I'll make sure to use more detail . Thanks!
Very good job of your first video. I would encourage you to focus on safety first, then construction of a good solid workbench.
Nice and i can't wait to see the video of the nice work station you will be attaching it to.

Super idea can't wait to make one. Thanks
This was super helpful, dude. Thanks!
Exactly the design I needed, thanks!
Very good idea you are brilliant woman thank you very much for uploading your video so I watch you from Malta
Well done on the vid and the jig.

For first video is O.K. Go ahead!

This is genius! Saves me spending money on a mitre saw
going to try making one, new to woodworking, ONE LOVE
Love the safety shoes!

Good start. Keep making them and accepting valid advice and you'll be great.
Good idea, and good work. But keep pushing yourself. It isn't too hard to get the two axis totally square. That really is a good tool.
Added this project to my get done list. Great jig to have handy. Nice job and well done video.
I think you did a great job on your video! I encourage you to do more! I'm surprised at some of the mean comments people have written... learn from them but don't let them discourage you. Keep up the good work!
