2024 and I just got the '14 CTS Luxury 3.6 AWD. Amazing car and drivetrain. Smooth and quick transmission, great power and speed. 144 top speed while average mpg is 25 in the city. Can keep up and looks better than most V8. Bose sound system with 13 center point configuration that's plenty even for sound enthusiasts. I'm 6 ft 260 and I fit perfectly in the driver's seat with enough room for me behind my driver's seat position. Rear passenger and rear window curtain is a little executive touch. So for me a very well maintained luxury Cadillac with the same aesthetic as a 2017 model for 1/5 of the original price, I absolutely love it ‼️
I can't speak for every model, but the cts that this car replaces have above average reliability according to consumer ratings. In comparison, BMW's are notorious for electric issues. My father owns a foreign car repair shop, and German cars keeps him in business. My bro drives a 2012 5 series, and already it has electrical quirks, like the sunroof randomly opening, and the windows rolling down on their own after the car had been parked.
Just beautiful. I have not seen you review an XTS VSport Platinum. If you thought this CTS was nice, the XTS, in VSport Platinum is just fantastic! I know - I own one!
The CTS has aluminum in most of its body structure. So therefore it is fair to say the car is lighter than the 5 series. The 5 series does not use aluminum like the CTS does in most places.
Witch would you say is better Cadillac or BMW? I have seen many reviews individual and head to head comparison's and the ATS seems better because it seems to give better feed back, produce more power and has better handling.
Nice review, but it's a little unfair for you to say that it's a big deal that this car is lighter than the 5 series when it's so much smaller. It's not like they have an aluminum frame or some other expensive weight saving technique; they just cut down on interior volume. As for power, BMW is notorious for underrating their engines; proof of this is the fact that the 3 series handily beats the ATS in 0-100km/h times even though it supposedly has less power and weighs more.
Sorry, but i loved cruising in the comfort of a big luxury car.But now everything has to be a sports car. When you hear the word cadillac you think luxury car not sports car.
Wow, that was fast. lol. I had a 2005, 2011 and now the 2014 CTS. Every car has gone up in price, but I don't have any problems. Buy them new but Caddy gives big discounts.
I understand, but that doesn't change the fact that this car is PHYSICALLY smaller than the 5 series, and cannot compete on exterior dimensions NOR interior volume.
Don't you think you're jumping to conclusion? The car isn't even available in most places yet, other than Cadillac taking orders. Also, BMW won't win any reliable ratings anytime soon. It doesn't matter what you say, Cadillac is winning right now.
Test driven both the 5 series and the CTS in the last week. The CTS is overpriced and small. The backseat is unacceptable. Those LED foglights are horrible, the motorized cupholder is stupid and the trunk is small, drives and brakes well though. I live in a GM town and the dealer has had two CTSs sitting now for 3 weeks, no one wants them. Orders for 10 new Escalades though. ATSs are only moving now because they are giving them away on lease deals, before they were dead in the water.
The CTS is more affordable because It simply costs less to make (and there are places you can tell why). Just don't be fooled into thinking you are getting the exact same things across the board (fit/finish, options, etc) as the competition.
In the 80's we had satellites that could take picture of a dime sitting on your kitchen floor from outer fucking space and your telling me we cant build a midsize sedan that can corner well and have a roomy back seat? lmfao it can be done they dont want to spend the money.
CUE is really bad and was the deal breaker for me on the ATS. It's clumsy, smudgy and potentially dangerous to operate while driving. Too bad since the ATS/CTS are wonderful mechanically...
Fantastic review. I like the third-generation Cadillac a lot - much more pro than the previous models. This site claims that it's the best thing since sliced bread though: www.unhaggle.com/blog/cadillac-cts-best-car-gm-ever-made/#more-1400 I'm not sure if that's true.
People with a couple of extra bucks love Caddys. The 14s are redesigned and much higher in price. TV ads give you a modest price on a base model. This car can max out at 70k before incentives.
You are full of shit. '14 model uses premium materials compared to the '13 models. The doors, hood, trunk and close to half of the body structure is made of aluminum. Aluminum in cars are expensive. So therefore they are competitively priced against the Germans and Asians and the CTS is now being benchmarked. You can't say that about the Asian and German competition, can you? NO, YOU CAN'T!! The CTS is dancing all around them now!

IMO there's too much talk about competitors. I don't care for BMW's. I like the CTS.
200 quality car review videos, good job Zack!

Always a pleasure watching your reviews Zack! - Not a huge fan of "The Caddy" but wow, very compelling.

Zack, what is the colour of the 2014 CTS that you had in the driveway?
Great review. But what will happen to the CTS-V wagon? Will be bigger as well or are they going to change it to the ATS-V wagon? :]
Wagons are trash an look like shoes
Witch would you say is better Cadillac or BMW? I have seen many reviews individual and head to head comparison's and the ATS seems better because it seems to give better feed back, produce more power and has better handling.
Zack doesnt the instrument cluster look very cheap and dated? I think should have the lcd cluster as standard!

I'm trying to figure out whats the difference between this and the ATS,...the letter?
+demariojason The CTS is bigger and competes with the 5 series.
got it...Man, I just liked the prior gen a littl better.
What ya think?
I did too. but once you actually compare them in person. the new gens are a great improvement
Sorry, but i loved cruising in the comfort of a big luxury car.But now everything has to be a sports car. When you hear the word cadillac you think luxury car not sports car.
It's a sports sedan.
Exactly.
Wow, that was fast. lol. I had a 2005, 2011 and now the 2014 CTS. Every car has gone up in price, but I don't have any problems. Buy them new but Caddy gives big discounts.
The second generation CTS v with the supercharged v8 lapped the ring in less than eight minutes.
I understand, but that doesn't change the fact that this car is PHYSICALLY smaller than the 5 series, and cannot compete on exterior dimensions NOR interior volume.
I want that dam bad ass..
You Sir, says no BS. Love your reviews.
Keep a lens cloth in the center box!
They should fit the ls2 engine from the chevrolet ss to this car. That would be a bast! 421 hp / 420 torque from a normally aspirated engine.
Since when did cadillac had a good reliability?
But it's a cool looking car alright, plus it has some good engines
where is the review on trunk space? under the hood?
very good reviewer, finally i dont fall a sleep in a review XD
Great front, terrible rear end. Same with the ATS, they need to get away from that old school rear end.
They need to make the back seat roomier.

"Harder, better, faster, stronger"
Great review.
ooo I hate The Governor so MUCH!
Thats what Im saying. American cars used to be unmatched when it came to roomy interiors what happened? I know we didn't get any smaller. lol
In the 80's we had satellites that could take picture of a dime sitting on your kitchen floor from outer fucking space and your telling me we cant build a midsize sedan that can corner well and have a roomy back seat? lmfao it can be done they dont want to spend the money.

Hahaha. Good one. I wish....
doesnt matter what the review says. the dealer network has a poor reputation and the car isnt reliable.
De ville back lights

I'm not sure if that's true.
The new 550i has 450hp
and oddly better gas milage...
+Matthew Nix And doesn't drive as well as the CTS-Vsport.
+ChooChooTrain02 please explain
The new 5 series feels way too isolated from the road and drives like a big heavy car.
Big usually decreases performance. America needs a damn diet.
Camera out of focus
Black people love caddys

I live in a community of nothing but white cops and most of them have Cadillacs so what are you talking about Ma'am !?!
