Sickest Caddy since the CTS-V! This thing not only looks good, it drives like a true 60k luxury sedan! And the interior quality is on par with what the Germans offer as well! Cadillac is now closer than ever to being a worthy competitor to the likes of Mercedes, BMW and Audi!
Road and Track as well as Car&Driver both achieved the 4.4 second 0-60 manufacturer claim, so maybe you guys need to figuer something out. still it is crazy fast for what it is, and it handles and performes like a full blooded true sports car, considering what the CTS is, that is truly remarkable. the Cadillac's new V6TT also sounds burlier than the BMW N-gen V8s used in the 550 & Ms.
2014 CTS V-Sport 0-60 test times: Car and Driver: 4.4 Autoblog: 4.6 Motor Trend: 4.8 and 4.7 Edmunds: 5.1 Is it that Edmunds' test drivers just don't know how to drive or is Edmunds just BSing us? Did you guys at Edmunds think no one would check your numbers?
Honestly, I think this car is the winner in it's class. There isn't even a 6 cylinder luxury sedan that can compare, nevermind the future supercharged V8.
those wheels were put on for performance, a larger set of wheels&tires is optional and available, but this shown and tested manufacturer default set is the optimal choice for performance.
conclusion, BMW has to give the "ultimate driving machine" up and hand that one over to Cadillac from now on. lords knows what will happen when the new V8 becomes available and the V model hits the scene.
Because the old one was a V and this is V-Sport is a different trim level. They even say that in the video, this slots below the V... BTW the old V made 556 HP and this makes 420. Not sure where you got those numbers...
First off, it's funny you are going off of BMW's hp rating. Secondly, it's also very interesting that you are almost an entire second off of 0-60 times than not only what Cadillac claims, but what other magazines got.
Informative video. Though it suffers from a lack of chemistry between the presenters but it's good! That title though makes it feel as if it was posted by mistake...
They weren't launching it. If you're in track mode and hold the brakes and rev, the car will only let you do 2k RPM and it will come off the line kind of soft. You'd have to put it in Stabilitrack Competitive mode and figure out the launch RPM yourself. In that mode the car will do a burn out.
i think some manufacturers give a full range of models. i think when new redesign came out pretty much all journalist had all range of 3 series to test out and reviewed about it.
Does BMW and Mercedes give testers the 4 cylinder versions of the 5 series or E-class? One year Mercedes showed the AMG version before any of the others...lol (think it was the new CLS)
Roadandtrack got 4.4 0-60 mph quarter mile 12.7 seconds and Caranddriver got 4.4 seconds quartermile in 12.9 seconds so maybe you guys are off on your technique
It’s not the exact same engine as in the ATS v and the ats v makes 464 yes they are both 3.6tt but internals are different and some other things are different
It is pretty well know that the 550i makes quite a bit more than 400 horses. Germans seem to rate their horsepower numbers based on what you'll get at the top of Mount Kilimanjaro if its 110 degrees and you have been running the car hard for an hour already.
You did not even mention the fact they are using an all new (new to GM ) 8 speed automatic for gearing!! Don't you think that is a major leap forward that should not only be noted, but exclaimed with certain pride that it is Cadillac using this first and not the Corvette? just saying........
Caranddriver got exactly 4.4 seconds 12.9 in the quarter mile, you guys are doing it wrong.you suppose to use mild brake-torqueing as the revs build let of the brake, gas it
I get it. The base CTS 3.6 is just too slow. The CTS V is crazy fast. They can use this power plant in the ATC and XTC. Add the V designation seems a bit optimistic.
There is no old V-sport. There was the CTS-V, completely different car. This model still does not have the V trim level yet with a V8, on the V-sport trim.
This is not the CTS-V. This is the V sport. I don't know why they make the naming so confusing but the M5 competitor will come out later. This, when compared to Audi would be the S6, not the RS6. You see what I'm saying?
First off, you should know the story before you make accusations. Second, all car companies do similar things like that. Third, GM provided all 3 engine choices to drive for the reviews. So if you don't like that fact you don't know anything about the other models, blame Edmunds, not GM.
why did GM giving V sport to journalist for test drive..what about the normal CTS with no sport. how does that drive .i think most people will buy the normal sport right?? or is GM tryin to advertise just the V sport first
From now on every review should leave the default traction control setting on. 0-60, 1/4 mi, track test. Maybe then these stupid manufactures will allow you to change the default setting so every time the car turns on it doesn't default to cripple.
The Vsport with the 3.6L TT V6 doesn't seem like much of a BMW 550i competitor. The BMW 550i has a 4.4L TT V8 capable of 445 HP, but BMW underrates their engines. The CTS is lighter, which helps though. A TT V8 sure can make way more HP than a TT V6. Seriously, BMW underrates the crap out of their engines, and they are also overpriced.
These 2 guys have ZERO charisma or personality, they might as well be testing refrigerators. Why not comment on the handling characteristics as you're driving around the track??? Even amateur reviews can do it!

2014 CTS V-Sport 0-60 test times:
Car and Driver: 4.4
Autoblog: 4.6
Motor Trend: 4.8 and 4.7
Edmunds: 5.1
Is it that Edmunds' test drivers just don't know how to drive or is Edmunds just BSing us? Did you guys at Edmunds think no one would check your numbers?
This Cadillac cts vsport is legit despite these two guys not really knowing how to accelerate the car.
With Mag shocks Brembos brakes heads up display this this handles and stops my CTS non Vsport 3.6 still fun.
This red car is a pre production model. MotorTrend tested and only got around 4.7. The black CTS they tested got 4.4 secs.
Honestly, I think this car is the winner in it's class. There isn't even a 6 cylinder luxury sedan that can compare, nevermind the future supercharged V8.
Price wise it will never compete…
those wheels were put on for performance, a larger set of wheels&tires is optional and available, but this shown and tested manufacturer default set is the optimal choice for performance.
with high flow cats and a tune it's gonna be a monster.
conclusion, BMW has to give the "ultimate driving machine" up and hand that one over to Cadillac from now on. lords knows what will happen when the new V8 becomes available and the V model hits the scene.
WARMUP TIRES BEFORE DRAG OR 0-60 TEST!!!!!
Because the old one was a V and this is V-Sport is a different trim level. They even say that in the video, this slots below the V...
BTW the old V made 556 HP and this makes 420. Not sure where you got those numbers...
Not sure where you get these figures. The current crop of Caddies are pretty damn solid.
did you guys switch the suspension to sport mode and rev it out to 4 g i bet you can get that number
First off, it's funny you are going off of BMW's hp rating. Secondly, it's also very interesting that you are almost an entire second off of 0-60 times than not only what Cadillac claims, but what other magazines got.
Best Interior combination at 5:44
Great looking car! I know that the bmw 550i isn't as fun to drive as this caddy...
CTSV is going to be a game changer
Informative video. Though it suffers from a lack of chemistry between the presenters but it's good! That title though makes it feel as if it was posted by mistake...
Hmmm the other magazines got between 4.4 and 4.7 on 0 to 60.
They weren't launching it. If you're in track mode and hold the brakes and rev, the car will only let you do 2k RPM and it will come off the line kind of soft. You'd have to put it in Stabilitrack Competitive mode and figure out the launch RPM yourself. In that mode the car will do a burn out.
traction control off?
Thats a nice Caddy id buy it
The engine sounds great!
i think some manufacturers give a full range of models. i think when new redesign came out pretty much all journalist had all range of 3 series to test out and reviewed about it.
No, its the happy medium between great handling and comfortable ride. 20's would just break your back...its still a Cadillac here, not a Camaro ZL1..
When's the ATS-V dropping? Or the ATS-Vsport? A 420 hp ATS if lightweight would be a monster.
The new models with the exact same engine have been "upgraded " to 445 hp. Not sure when the CTS-V will show up. Hopefully it will.
It’s not the exact same engine as in the ATS v and the ats v makes 464 yes they are both 3.6tt but internals are different and some other things are different

The BMW twin turbo 8 is very conservatively rated. It puts out more like 445 Hp at the crank.
Does anyone know when the REAL CTS-V will arrive?
Caranddriver got exactly 4.4 seconds 12.9 in the quarter mile, you guys are doing it wrong.you suppose to use mild brake-torqueing as the revs build let of the brake, gas it
Twin turbo V6 you say? Send it to AMS! I want to see an Alpha 9 CTS-Vsport ASAP.
With bigger tires and rims numbers could be even more better cuz 18inch wheels are like base wheel size
Exactly what I was thinking when I heard the guy say 400hp, NO WAY, more like 440-445hp.... Does anyone know when the REAL CTS-V is coming!?!?!
I get it. The base CTS 3.6 is just too slow. The CTS V is crazy fast. They can use this power plant in the ATC and XTC. Add the V designation seems a bit optimistic.
Edmunds can't get a good 0-60? What a surprise.
Are you running premium?
There is no old V-sport. There was the CTS-V, completely different car. This model still does not have the V trim level yet with a V8, on the V-sport trim.
They did and they got 4.5 0-60.
needs better tires?
This is not the CTS-V. This is the V sport. I don't know why they make the naming so confusing but the M5 competitor will come out later. This, when compared to Audi would be the S6, not the RS6. You see what I'm saying?
I just hope there will be a wagon version!!!!
Also 550i for 2014 has 445hp and as everyone knows all BMW engines are heavily UNDERRATED!
apology accepted :) i ordered mine already
First off, you should know the story before you make accusations. Second, all car companies do similar things like that. Third, GM provided all 3 engine choices to drive for the reviews. So if you don't like that fact you don't know anything about the other models, blame Edmunds, not GM.
Motortrend Autoblog and Edmunds all used the same redesh car. Car and Driver had a different car that way silver that was quicker.
why did GM giving V sport to journalist for test drive..what about the normal CTS with no sport. how does that drive .i think most people will buy the normal sport right?? or is GM tryin to advertise just the V sport first
Michael Weston?
This can't b the new ct-s V no way in hell! GM has something cooking up. We just haven't seen it yet.
The front of the old one looked bad but the back looked cool, now the front looks great but that backs looks bad idk just my opinion
You may want to learn the difference between braking and breaking a car.
The old v-sport its 500 hp ..! How come the new one 442 hp ?
That was the CTS V, not V-Sport. Think M vs M-Sport.
Probably because you drove the piss out of it on the slolum and brake test and then did acceleration.
From now on every review should leave the default traction control setting on. 0-60, 1/4 mi, track test. Maybe then these stupid manufactures will allow you to change the default setting so every time the car turns on it doesn't default to cripple.
Dat title!
gm testing see level..michigan...probably higher...les air density so less power...simple
Seriously, BMW underrates the crap out of their engines, and they are also overpriced.
thats what happens when a bunch of hipsters run these tests. look at these guys. no clue about cars
Yep. V-sport not a V-series
i wanna see motartrend do a test
Good video, but man, they got to work on better titles ;)
Car porn is the real title
These 2 guys have ZERO charisma or personality, they might as well be testing refrigerators. Why not comment on the handling characteristics as you're driving around the track??? Even amateur reviews can do it!
Braking and acceleration, not breaking. Fire the editor.
including the weight of camera man?
These Caddies get terrible reliability reviews... Which is a total Bummer.. :(
Nice car, except the ugly chrome door handles
Your numbers are always low
The last gen CTS was a better looking car.. This one looks a bit heavy in the haunches.
Waaay tooooo loooong! Shave 4-5 inches off the car.... It doesn't look sporty it's so long.
im sorry but i think cadillac ruined this car...its ugly and look like a barge going down the road. same with the ats and xts
Too long in profile view.... And too narrow looking in front view..... Also needs larger wheel/tire package ( looks out of proportion).... JMHO
