Hey guys, sorry for pinning this comment on all videos but I want to give you an update on the channel. I've been slowly adding a show archive to the videos including a full transcript added as sub titles and a full track listing (with links to UA-cam videos for each track). Pilkipedia archive link has been added as well and I've been having fun illustrating some of KP's best bits, I'm adding these to a shop incase anyone is interested: www.man-moth.com/ It's taking me a while to update the archives, especially as I don't work Mondays so please bear with me as I chip away at it. @Franz Fanon yeah I started out thinking that she was an addition - not really paying attention bc I'd had it on for hours by that point😅. And then I realized what they meant, that he wasn't coming on and yeah, I couldn't understand why I was listening to it😅

Its great how Ricky is poo-pooing "Bridge of Spies" as an album cover, as Im booking my ticket to see the Spielberg film of the same name. Now Im in two minds.
+Liverbird On the contrary I think the sharper traits of Ricky and Steve is what can make the show at times. They were more well behaved on the podcast though.

I love Rick...think he definitely has a sharp mind and is very well educated...but I SO WANT TO GET INTO AN INTELLECTUAL DEBATE VS HIS ATHEISM...I’m not religious at all but find his materialism SO narrow minded! His utter dismissal of stuff ‘because he believes in the laws of physics’ yet refuses to consider that the certain things he dismissed could in theory even be accounted for within those laws... Starsigns...if the moon can control menstruation then it’s not crazy that the alignement of the stars, progression of season during pregnancy and formative years could have some kind of effect on personality traits or make up... Just as an example not saying I even believe that but just a rational retort to his close mindedness
@@harryjones84 I routinely fall for girls with fire signs. There’s definitely something to astrology. Ricky’s materialism is weak. He sounds like Richard Dawkins sometimes. listened to this for the FIRST time after 20 years of listening to KP. Wow. Shocking how incredible KP is. Really does nothing but really highlight his absence.
Pure unadulterated Gervais and Merchant letting rip with no mindless Pilkington musings to slow the show down! Claire is a much better audience than Karl for Ricky and Steve's humour. She's one of us, rather than a whipping boy who was basically just there to take a load off. They knew it was all on them this week and they worked it!
The wheels might turn slowly in Karl’s mind but he’s certainly not mindless. Ironic, coming from a guy whose UA-cam identity is inspired by a mindless hack like Steven Spielberg. Although, in all fairness, Jaws is a good film. However, most of Spielberg’s filmography consists of empty shlock with a pretty bow on it. It’s going to be a good day when the world finally figures out Schindler’s List is a lot of phoney Disney twaddle.
@@amjoshuaf That was a bit of a stretch to insult me, wasn't it? By "mindless", I'm referring to the character that Ricky so clearly shaped for Karl, and one that Karl plays up to - moreso as the shows go on. How about if we say my UA-cam identity was inspired by Peter Benchley rather than Spielberg? Would that make things better? Even though you say yourself Jaws is a good film.. As is Duel, Sugarland Express, Close Encounters, E.T., Raiders of The Lost Ark, The Colour Purple etc.
@@TheRowlandstone73 Although I agree that Karl leans into the character a bit, I’d say that the character that Ricky is attempting to fashion exists mostly in Ricky’s willfully erroneous interpretations of the points Karl is inarticulately attempting to make. The basic formula is that Ricky and Steve loudly gloss over what quiet Karl is saying in order to get to: “check out Forrest Gump here.” Despite that, even Ricky must admit at times that Karl has said something insightful. And even when Karl is speaking nonsense he often still has an insightful way of coming to nonsense. Those Spielberg films you cite are all rubbish with the exception of Raiders, with the caveat that Raiders is still a vacuous, empty film, but it is a fun one. E.T. Is a dumpster fire. What if Walt Disney took the baby from Eraserhead and attempted to make a cute children’s movie? E.T. Is the answer. It really speaks to the tragic and precarious state of the modern world that E.T. is considered a cinematic classic. A world full of people who enjoy The Big Bang Theory.
@@TheRowlandstone73 A good example for my argument is Karl’s fascination with insects. Ricky makes fun of Karl for taking notice of insects but Karl’s admiration for the ant’s productivity is echoed by King Solomon (remembered for his wisdom) and Aesop. And this little bit of wisdom from a man with essentially no schooling.
