Funny thing about flagship bows is that I still shoot a 2010 Bowtech Destroyer 350 (upgraded to Barnsdale limbs) that I received from the owner of the shop I was working at (at the time) for $650 (dealer cost). This bow is perfect for my short draw of 26.5" with 65# Barnsdale limbs, and will shoot a 325 grain arrow at 300 fps. Their overdrive binary cam system was the perfect way to tune for perfect centershot, and I just realized tonight that my string is perfectly level with the Hamskea riser level, and sight bubbles. I took my Solution SS (a $1200 bow), and I could not get the string to be level with the riser without throwing off the tune tremendously. Right now, the cams point towards each other at full draw using the Spot Hogg cam alignment laser, and shoots bulletholes, but I'm not happy the way it is. I'm sticking with my 2 Destroyer 350s (one is a Limited Edition also upgraded to Barnsdale limbs). And like I mentioned in your previous video, I've got a Bear Whitetail Maxx on order, and it has the same speed rating as the Solution SS. So, why should I keep the SS if I can get a comparable bow for half that price, and shoots just as good??
    Great video!!

I don't see myself spending 4 digits on something that's been around for 70 millennia. I don't care how refined and modern it is. I don't even like the idea of spending 4 digits on firearms. My current bow setup is a Hoyt Klash that's no more than $600 with accessories. And my most expensive rifle is about $1300, that's only because I wanted to build at least one top quality rifle.

Got into Compound this year after close to 20 years of trad archery. Bought myself an Elite Terrain and it's fantastic. I tried several other bows and this one fits me like a glove. Equipped with Vapor trail pro V rest, CBE engage hybrid sights and some short stabilizers its a killer 3 D Setup. Finished second place in my first 3D tournament two months owning this bow. Also got an 2023 Bear Legend XR for the wife. Finish is a little rough but man, it's a shooter! Great performance for such an adjustable bow. This bow even has movable cable attachment points, so you can increase cable tension on shorter draw lengths for good efficiency and solid back wall. And the draw cycle is so smooth, unbelievable. The Legend XR ist often overlooked, in my opinion.

I think we have two different ideas on the word "budget". $1000-$1200 is the industry average for a decent bow. So to me, "budget" is $500 and under.
    That being said:
    - Sanlida X8-X9-10 (all $400 and under) are great alternatives.
-The Tidewe is a great budget bow at $285
    - Lastly, you got it right with the bear adapt at $479.

My 'budget' dictates i spend roughly $1100 Canadian dollars ($850 American dollars) on a bow every 3 years. This spring i went with a Diamond Edge XT and after putting a good rest, sight, string, peep and stabilizer on it i was up against what i wanted to spend. i have no regrets as the bow shoots great and hunts well. Good review, modern bowhunters on a budget due to life's commitments cannot, for the most part, afford to drop over a thousand dollars on a bow.

I've had a golden rule up to this point and won't spend over $800 on a compound bow or crossbow. Watching the sales you can get some very nice quality stuff for that $450 - $800 range. Some of it is marked down and was previously a bit more expensive. I see no need to spend near or over 2k on a single piece of archery equipment. That's ridiculous compared to firearms and knives for what you get for your money. They are going to keep pricing themselves out of the market if they keep this up. It wasn't that long ago you could buy a fairly decent older used car for that kind of money. I wouldn't feel comfortable out in the field walking around with and using a $1,700 - $2,500 piece of archery equipment. $800 and less is doable and practical. I agree with you on the Bear Archery bows and I own some myself. I also still have and use my 1997 Jennings Starmaster in Advantage Camo I bought new. Nothing wrong with that bow either and it's 27 years old this year. I'd rather have multiple bows and crossbows for the same money as one expensive one. You have extras to supply family and friends and you also have backups should something go wrong and put your bow out of commission for awhile while you are getting it fixed. Low and behold your local pro shop can't fix it and it needs sent back to the manufacturer. Without backup extras you are SOL and waiting with nothing in the meantime. My cutoff has been $800 thus far but I would consider maybe going up to say $1,200ish or so. Once you get much above that the point of diminishing return on your investment comes into play. I want a Hoyt and a Bowtech just to say I have them in my collection. I am going to have to watch for sales and deals before I get one though. I'm not going to pay MSRP for one or anything close to it. Some of the small mom and pop pro shops have financial up/lows. If you walk in one day after they have had a bad month you might be able to haggle a really good deal out for cash....no plastic...no BS...right here and NOW!
    BTW.....my crossbows!
    I have "some" crossbows too....

If you hunt around you can find some deals. I picked up a Diamond Edge Max for $140 still with tags on it. Metal limb pockets, solid limbs to help with cam lean, JUNK accessories. I got a trophy ridge master hunter accessory kit for $50 and that stabilizer has about killed all the vibration. In my opinion those diamonds are really held back by their bottom of the barrel "octane" (they're actually just generic chinese bow accessories) accessories and would be rated much higher if they came with better ones.

The Bear Adapt has old single cam technology and underwhelming 320 IBO rated speed, so in my opinion it is not in the running for Bear Archery's best 2023 bow. Now with 2024 Bear updates, there are now many better Bear bows. The main problem is Bear Archery's illogical pro shop only distribution system. The Adapt can be mail ordered and is in stock at most BPS and Cabela's so that is a major plus.

I have zero knowledge about arrows. what arrow would you recommend for that bow since you have used it before. I would be using 60 lbs of pull weight till I can work my way up to 70. if you could also, what broad head should I use. Any information you give me I would be thankful for. Cheers.
