Love the channel! I've been hunting with a 1990 for 5 years, don't love but it kills. I've been wanting to upgrade and your reviews are genuine. You put the work into a review it makes it easier to try and find something for me (haven't yet). You're awesome brother keep it up.
Appreciate the comment 🙏
Just bought this bow today as my first bow just getting into bow hunting and archery I am 18 years old hopefully it serves well
Good luck bud send me a pic when u hammer one
No Rx-8 😭😭😭?!?
I am surprised! No Elite ! LOL! It is nice to have all the good choices to hint with!
The omnia I hunted hard with and would always throw in the mix if I had the money
I have my Persist set up with HHA Tetra Max RYZ, Shrewd Vantage bars and Black Eagle Carnivores and Swhacker hybrids. Sweet shooting bow for sure.
That is a great set up right there
ive the dragon x8 and ive shot it for 2 years without any issues, its as accurate as any bow shot around me
Love your videos. I am curious of your thoughts on the hoyt alpha x 30.
Is this not just a rebranded Sanlida dragon x8? They look exactly that same with the same accessories?
Yes most likely
Is it just me or is the chinese bow way more honest on their ibo speed ratings lol
See I hated my v3x ergonomics weren’t great it was crazy heavy cost more to restring I hate the top hats removed grip to be somewhat comfortable. But I freaking love my Athens axis 35!!
Love your channel! Looking forward to picking up an RX8 soon!
I think in my personal opinion, how bear would flip the market if they made their flagship bows a carbon composite, at a fred-bear price point. I think it would make them a top contender.
just bought this as my first release ever.
Perf beginner release all around
Excellent and exciting. Enjoy! Many thanks. Happy hunting.
If there was more dealer support. These bows would dominate the industry. And to think....these have been the same bow designs from APA for almost 10 years. Let that sink in. The bow has been around that long in its current design. And the previous model was similar for the 10 Yeats before that. Best bows in the world.
V3x in my opinion is the best overall hunting bow. The 33 that is not 29 imo
Any reason you didnt stick with the Elite Ethos? You seemed pretty enthusiastic about it.
So early in the year would have been hard to hold onto for that long and I hunted last fall with it already
Could do a review for the bear surpass?
Is that the Hoyt Alpha X 30 or 33. I know you reviewed the 33 but bow looks different.
30
Looking forward to this season! Good luck with the bows.
No darton made the line up 😮
So what you're saying is, "I don't know, just get a bow and go shoot and go hunt!" Good stuff, I appreciate all the time and details you put in your reviews!!
I bought my first new bow because of your review on the Bear Whitetail Legend Pro and I love that thing! Awesome to see you put a Bear bow out in the field! Great video!
I have the whitetail max too. I’m pumped to use it this year. Good luck!
I got the prime Ronan! Thanks to Brandon! And his fire reviews! every video is killer! And that’s a fact!🔥🔥 thanks again man!
Good set ups you got! I’ve shot a lot of bear bows and was looking for a flagship to upgrade to tried all of the new bows but didn’t wanna pay around $1500 plus for a bow and to set it up. I love the alpha X shot amazing and felt great but couldn’t pay what they wanted luckily my local shop had a new old stock 2019 Hoyt Helix and said shoot this and it was very similar to the ventum series and the alpha X! Very smooth and I could shoot 5lbs more then I could because my shoulder injury I had years ago went from 55lb to 60lbs and out to 50 yards with 535gr arrows including broadheads thing is a tack driver and best bow I’ve shot! Yes the ventum and alpha X are slightly smoother and have all the bells and whistles but for a 2019 Hoyt helix brand new for only $500 I had to get it I have probably over $1200 into it in building it up and I am happy I would have paid 1200 or more just to by a bare flagship now but I a couple years maybe I’ll upgrade now that I have all the expensive upgrades on the helix
I’m shocked you didn’t go with the pse mach 30 after you loved it so much
I had to get my money back 😂
@@BackyardBows I understand that all to well😂 I rock the RX1 and hyperforce 2018 hoyt models but they both still scream. Thank you for all the content I love your channel boss.
Running the Revex 4 again this season. Cant find much that feels as good to me.
You dont pick the bow, the bow picks you. Great work as always brandon 👌
I agree I tried a lot of bows I liked but they didn’t like me or feel right and I like Hoyt’s but I never gave them a shot from what I was told about them the I tried a used 2019 Hoyt Helix and I loved it I was able to shoot 5lbs more then usual how smooth it was and I am deadly out to 50 yards with it and I bought it for $500 but it was in new old stock condition so brand new and was a steal for a old flag ship to me and I am ready to get on deer with it I tried many like I said but none shot the best or felt as good as the Hoyt’s I liked the Alpha X but I didn’t wanna put that kinda money out so I opted for a few years older flagship and I don’t regret it! Plus the Helix feels very similar to the Alpha X and the Ventum series of bows very smooth draw and shoots great! The newer ones are just a slight bit smoother and have the bells and whistles but I’m happy with my Hoyt helix.
@@Garydasnaill the best shooting bow ever made is the one you like the most and the one you can afford. Happy shooting!
Couldn’t agree more, best shooting bow is the one your most consistent with and enjoy shooting
I still use the V3X 33 too.. i have tried all the new bows and to me the V3x 33 is perfection as well.
I just put the ripcord ratchet limb driven on my sequel 33, it was easy to set up and works great. Hoping I get drawn for august a Busch again this year
Can’t wait to get one in every time I set one up makes me like it more and more
I love my adapt, ain't a deer in the US it won't harvest. It doesn't take a 2000 dollar bow to hunt, those bows are for the ones who want to brag and be for show
they offer them in a 30-32 draw length called large cam
What release are you running? About to get a Mathew’s lift after watching this video.
Spot hog wise guy w boa strap, and great choice great bow from them this year
I mentor a teenage beginning hunter who would love this bow.
Compared to TORREX OR TPRREX XT how would you rate it?
There's one of these sitting in my pro shop rn. It's straight dog shit, doesn't tune worth af. The accessories included are ass. Like anything archery, save your money, buy once, cry once... instead of cheaping out on this chinesium dog shit.
I picked up a Bear Adapt last year. It shoots great with the “budget” RTH parts. I’m going to start upgrading the accessories to it over time to see how far I can take it before I even consider dropping $1500+ on a flagship model.
Little upgrades here and there is a good way to go
This is extremely helpful and changed my mind on a few of the broadheads that I have been using
Do you fall into the Fad of the “ small diameter” arrows or stick with standard shaft size?
Bowtech solution vs omnia?
Been talk on the AT forums about limb failure issues with the Consequence. First batch with the issues was assembled with white grease and the newer limbs are assembled with red grease. I hope this isn’t a huge common issue because I bought a Consequence and I like it.
I want a prime Rvx32 but I wonder if they allow u to be lazy in Your form. If my head isn’t at the right angle I can’t level my bubble…or is prime like a red dot with zero parallax? where the dot is you hit…
The target defines the test. If this was in any way a legitimate test relating to performance on game animals then we would see the same amount of penetration on every animal shot regardless of arrow and broadhead choice. We know however that that is not the case. We see different amounts of penetration on game animals so any test that shows results that are all comparable are just invalid in a hunting situation. But I guess if anyone decides to hunt a pumpkin and plywood then you have proved to them that any broadhead will work and none of them will drastically outperform their competitors. Appreciate the effort and time taken to create the video it just doesn’t translate any real credible useful information as far as broadhead performance on game animals.
I appreciate your comment but I beg to differ, half inch plywood is a great comparison to shoulder bone and the pumpkin is a very comparable to the rib cage, very thought out and consistent with real life applications
@@BackyardBows not saying you didn’t put any thought into it I’m just saying your test is flawed. Every time you shoot the pumpkin and the board it changes the density of each object. Also wood is not a good representation of bone. Bone tends to crack and breaks away when penetrated. Wood does not it tends to hug the object that penetrates it hence the reason houses stay together with nails and screws. Also a pumpkin wouldn’t be the best representation of an animal. Animals have hair hide multiple layers and thicknesses of muscle that’s going in multiple directions as well as bones. I’m glad so many people on UA-cam are trying to “test” these things but 98% of the broadhead tests found on UA-cam while they may be fun to do or even entertaining to watch offer little to no credible evidence in a hunting situation. I’d just like to see the folks running these tests find a better way to run their test so that we quit misleading people that may be new to the bow hunting community.
I will be honest, ever since COVID American quality control went right into the shitter. With the economy being the way it is while I would like to buy American I'm not in the position to donate to American stuff that still charges the same but doesn't have the same quality it did pre COVID.
You give me a lot to think about when picking out a bow. Definitely the most informative and comprehensive reviews on UA-cam. Thank you bubba🤙🏻
Carbon 1 is so nice to shoot all day. So consistent and better for backpacking, in my opinion, better hunting bow.
So whitetail maxx or alaskan xt? That's the real question
So, between the Core SS, the Elite Ethos, and the Prime Ronan...which bow do you think you'd choose?
Geez my Omen puts out 296 fps for 628 grains. That 68 grains heavier and still over 30 fps faster than core sr shooting 560 grains 😮😮
Just a couple of comments: It's now more than three months after Athens closed up shop. I happen to be an avid archer. I'm also an attorney for forty years. As soon as I saw the new Axxis line it was obvious they were going to have a problem. Another thought about the archery industry in general. For the most part, this is an industry that is dominated by four or five players. It's hard to know what the revenue is for companies like Mathews. Hoyt, Bowtech, Bear and PSE. They are privately owned so we don't know. But I would doubt that even the most well known among them are bringing in more than 70 to 80 million a year. I'd guess that Athens probably had no more than 4 to 5 million a year coming in I can name at least ten bow companies over the past seven or eight years that have gone out of business. Let's see, just off the top of my head. Parker. Winchester, New Breed, Ben Pearson, Tribe, Stevens, Maitland, K and K. So, the point is that none of these companies can afford to make mistakes. Athens won't be the last archery company to disappear. Over the next few years You'll probably see Martin and Obsession go away. It's not likely that they are selling many bows. Xpedition too. It's just a tough business. Brandon, a while back I saw your review of the Sanlida Dragon 10. You were very positive about that bow. I haven't shot one but by all accounts it's a very good bow. It's also about $450.00. You know Sanlida is taking a bite out of the market. So the Chinese are now putting pressure on our domestic manufacturers. There are two other factors that I believe don't bode well for the archery industry. The first is price. Up and up. At some point there has to be a limit. Even if a hunter splurges for $2,500 to $2,600 on a new rig, he might not buy another bow for ten years. And finally, it seems to me that compound bows have reached a limit in their technical advancement. Over the past few years we had the advent of the carbon bow and we had the invention of easier tuning systems. But that's about it. Bows are not getting faster. Every year engineers have to create a new bow to sell. That's tough.
I've had this bow for six months now and it's great, I also have hoyt invicta and Mathews TRX 36 and I have to say the dragon is not inferior to them in any way and its completely reinforced concrete wall is just something incredible
