I think the old versions of wrestling games were better cuz you could have did more there were different places that you can go the backstage dressing rooms the cage match you can open up the gate and go out climb on top you don't have to throw somebody through the gate to get out the good old days was better I wish they would have added that in 2022 and in 23

2007 for me is the best SVR game. It is the game that made slight adjustments from what we had until SVR 2006 which is fast paced gaming. 2007 did just fine. My favorite feature of 2007 is the ultimate control, I didn’t even do my basic grappling moves, I just spammed Ultimate Control moves lol. The thing about 2k is the graphics are great and suits the evolution of gaming. Unfortunately, the engine sucks. Wrestlers move like robots and the wrestlers collide with each other awkwardly.
It is to this day the ultimate wrestling game for me. I hold SVR 07 in even higher regard than HCTP. 06 was fantastic too but SVR's adjustments to the control scheme and Ultimate Control has me coming back to it more often via emulators. Also, best soundtrack in any wrestling game. Not a single track I'd ever skip. 😀
2007 had one more awesome detail. An "adrenaline rush" mechanic that allowed you to lift one weight class higher than you normally could when your momentum meter was full. That enabled heavyweights to use power moves on Great Khali for brief bursts till the meter went back to normal either by timing out or using a finisher

Mix that up with svr 2011 with today's graphics... A season mode that lets you be a manager... I would put triple threat tag team tlc matches... Different strategies to raise the momentum depending if your a heel or baby face, more cinematics added to universe mode... In wwe2k14 there's literally less of them

2K23 is great, and if they continue to add onto the foundation with features from older games. It will reach GOAT status one day. For now SVR 07 imo is the best Wrestling Game ever made. While there are other GOAT tier games to me they don't hit as hard as 07 does.
SVR 2011 was the first one to have the same team on all brands. Ring announcers depending on the brand were a thing also up until 2K14. In 2K14, we had Justin Roberts for RAW, and Tony Chimel for SmackDown.
Man SVR2007 gameplay was unrivaled imo. The amount of variety you get with your matches was insane. I really miss that as now a days the games are more limited as far as interacting with environment, in-ring storytelling, and player control.
Damn, this was 15 years ago and holds up well. Although the graphics have obviously improved in WWE2k23 it's not exactly in a mind blowing way, considering the 15 year difference!
Only two complaints I had in 2007: Pinning moves getting replaced with generic moves in non pinning situations and having the same season mode for both Raw as well as Smackdown, especially if you used a CAW
That was 2008. 2007 had different storylines for RAW and SmackDown and they trade you to the other brand when they need to loop it. SVR 2008 had the same storylines for both brands, but they just switched up the superstars depending on the brand you were in at the time.
@@OfficialGroundZxro 2007 went into an endless loop as well. Only the first Wrestlemania storyline for RAW superstars was exclusive to them, otherwise you kept getting traded back and forth and had the same story arcs over and over
2K23 looks great, but the backstage is one of the most disappointing I've played in a WWE game. Even No Mercy on the N64 had a better/more interactive backstage area.

I'll never know why so many years later all this stuff got taken out. Not like they dont have the resources.. if they just add back how big backstage was. That would make it so much more fun.
I miss the SvR series. 2k23 is really good. Just wish they had a Backstage like Smackdown here comes the pain. Or 2k19.. also I forgot until finishing this video all the stuff you could do. Like ultimate control moves. Actually opening the Hell in a cell door. Like i said 2k23 is fun. I just don't understand why they took out so many features with today's technology and everything else.. I'm not game creator so maybe there is a good reason idk. One of the things that can directly be compared is the grappling system. Both games have an initial grapple system but 07 does it better. In 2K23 there's only 1 animation, the collar and elbow tie up 👎 In SVR07 you could perform 4 different initial grapples that lead to more moves and more animations. Collar and elbow, arm wringer, knee to gut, and front face lock Doing big moves from a collar & Elbow makes no sense in terms of realism, but that's your only choice in 23
@@wingedhussar1453 No. Collar and Elbow is only done in the beginning of matches when both Wrestlers agree to engage in a test of positioning and strength. It's not a means to perform big maneuvers. It would also be insane to perform it while someone is dazed. Seeing as they both need to initiate it at the same time.
@Smooth Realism and thts why 4 set up grapples is even more ridiculous. However you want to take it the way 23 is more realstic then older games of 4 difrent grapple set ups. Most moves after initial coolar and elbow turn into combos etc
@@wingedhussar1453 In Pro Wrestling like WWE in real life.... Collar and Elbow lock up are not performed to set up big moves and strikes. In SVR07 Collar and Elbow was 1 of 4 initial grapples that you had A CHOICE to perform, in order to access specific moves. But the other 3 initial grapples were more believable and were realistic ways to set up moves and and strikes.
@Smooth Realism stil in a match after the initial lockup whatever it is you don't use that as a set up to moves at all after. It's usually just punches and groggy state that transition to moves so in a sense old games were not realstic
That is the whole reason why I don't even wanna bother with Season Mode in the modern games, because I might wanna play that, or GM mode too, but not in it's current form, because let's face facts: wrestling matches for the sake of the sake gets really old really fast, we need more if A: It's gonna appeal to WWE fans or B: It's gonna apply to gamers in general. That's all.
Hopefully 2K24 will have more blood and more features like other previously released WWE games-I’m going to pass up on 2K23…and maybe buy it once it goes down in price, big maybe

Number 17 and 18 i want back . Doesn't even make sense why 17 hasn't returned . We still see that in wrestling alot .and the spinner championship should move even if you cant control it. Also the spinner looks so bad in 23.
I hate how they took out leaning ladders you can lean the ladder on the ropes to jump out but you can’t lean the ladder from outside the ring to jump in or on the ladder 🤦🏾♂️
2K games are garbage, and if it weren't for the graphics, they wouldn't be able to stand up to the worst THQ, No Mercy, or WCW Revenge games. The principle of comparison does not exist for me between 2K trash and any wrestling game before it, and I have not missed any wrestling game since 90s. Perhaps the new AEW game will create a competition that will restore glory to the world of wrestling games.
They dont ever have Batista's rope shake in the games but at least then, I would just use that ultimate control in that clip right after the Spinebuster and before the thumbs up/down taunt.
2k don’t care about wrestling games like how THQ did , only way we would get a better wrestling games or basketball game if they leave 2k. 2k sucks at making games.
When comes to career/season mode, my favorite would be WWE Smackdown Shut your mouth. Probably due to better free roam, less restricted in how you want to do the story....
Things that should make sense in 2K23 if the devs would have bothered: - Crowd Area Interactions (including climbing the scaffolding just to make high dives - Intergender matches (we have Chyna and Rhea Ripley beating men, and I wanna see this again). - Elimination Chamber Finisher dives - Ultimate Grapples (for controls) - Hell in a Cell door opening (not chained) - Ripping up crowd signs - Complaining to the referee (especially if you have a superstar who happens to be a Karen) - Leaning ladders on another ladder - Ignoring the referee. - Climbing announcers table (I missed this so much). What wouldn't make sense in WWE 2k23 today: - spinner belt (I know spinning is cool but not anymore :( ) - locker rooms (don't need this necessarily unless it has season mode) - Season mode (the game is focused mostly on WWE history than making your own Season mode (Universe is actually a sandbox but it's hard to execute the "season mode" style)) - multiple backstage areas (too much work to do but need more interactive objects though) Also, SVR 2007 is better than WWE 2K23 in terms of mechanics. But would still love to have them in the most recent WWE games.

Honestly 2K needs to take some notes from THQ gameplay wise they failed detail wise they exceeded expectations because how the hell does the spinner belt not spin make it make sense in 2023
They probably decided to follow the era when the center plate was fixed and no longer spun. Still doesn't justify using the static "spinner" belt for the era when it was still a spinning one
Fighting in the parking garage or fighting outside of WWE would have been a big ass upgrade in 2022 and 2023 and that running up the ladder you can't even do that in the new games
Number 1 isn't from SmackDown VS Raw 2007, it's from SmackDown VS Raw 2008. I would have one of my female created characters wrestle her male opponents in that opened area. Also, in SmackDown VS Raw, you can do Intergender Elimination Chamber & Hell In A Matches.
Just beat svr 2007 again tonight for the first time in 15 years. Amazing! Who remembers Candice Michelle and her magic ass wand?😂 this game made me feel like a kid again, the new ones don’t get me wrong amazing graphics, but get boring quick with limited user predictability and less content. You would think they would have more after this long but 2K must control every detail and say 🖕 us🤷🏾♂️😂

i also want to add bring back custom made finishers/signatures and you can give them custom names as well,bring back custom made title belts as well and you can give them names as well,bring back custom made wrestling arena/rings and you can give them names as well. also bring back tossig your opponents over the ropes during the inferno matches and make the fire show up on them and bring back the degree counter that tells you how hot it is. please understand that i loved wwe2k14 it was the last great wrestling game because it had so much that you could do but those 18 things i sure do miss and i want them back plus all those extras that i want back. i blame wwe2k15 and beyond on why the games suck now and i can't stand it anymore this why i want the next game to be titled wwe2k24 40 years of wrestlemania because if wwe2k14 was wwe2k14 30 years of wrestlemanina well then wwe2k24 should be titled wwe2k24 40 years of wrestlemania and i ant everyhing that was shown here in the video pus the extras i want back for wwe2k24 40 years of wrestlemania. so spread the word and lets get this game made wwe2k24 40 years of wrestlemania made. facebook,twitter whatever you can and get these creators of these games to give us wwe2k24 40 years of wrestlemania made.
And wish there was more to do in the crowd. Idk how they can't manage a bigger backstage, weapon grapples, more stiff to interact with in the crowd, and better blood spread. Wwe 2k23 is a fun game though in my opinion.
P.s. I forgot how cool the story was using actual non created superstars and the custom locker room. I'll never know why so many years later all this stuff got taken out. Not like they dont have the resources.. if they just add back how big backstage was. That would make it so much more fun.
I miss the SvR series. 2k23 is really good. Just wish they had a Backstage like Smackdown here comes the pain. Or 2k19.. also I forgot until finishing this video all the stuff you could do. Like ultimate control moves. Actually opening the Hell in a cell door. Like i said 2k23 is fun. I just don't understand why they took out so many features with today's technology and everything else.. I'm not game creator so maybe there is a good reason idk. Even the little things like climbing announcement tables, getting weapons from the crowd, the season mode, and ripping crowd signs. The little things made it so cool

One of the things that can directly be compared is the grappling system. Both games have an initial grapple system but 07 does it better. In 2K23 there's only 1 animation, the collar and elbow tie up 👎
In SVR07 you could perform 4 different initial grapples that lead to more moves and more animations. Collar and elbow, arm wringer, knee to gut, and front face lock
Doing big moves from a collar & Elbow makes no sense in terms of realism, but that's your only choice in 23

It's not a means to perform big maneuvers. It would also be insane to perform it while someone is dazed. Seeing as they both need to initiate it at the same time.
@Smooth Realism and thts why 4 set up grapples is even more ridiculous. However you want to take it the way 23 is more realstic then older games of 4 difrent grapple set ups. Most moves after initial coolar and elbow turn into combos etc

In SVR07 Collar and Elbow was 1 of 4 initial grapples that you had A CHOICE to perform, in order to access specific moves.
But the other 3 initial grapples were more believable and were realistic ways to set up moves and and strikes.
@Smooth Realism stil in a match after the initial lockup whatever it is you don't use that as a set up to moves at all after. It's usually just punches and groggy state that transition to moves so in a sense old games were not realstic
All 2k games have been trash ....and they don't have any incentive to improve because the sheep will keep buying them anyway.....

That is the whole reason why I don't even wanna bother with Season Mode in the modern games, because I might wanna play that, or GM mode too, but not in it's current form, because let's face facts: wrestling matches for the sake of the sake gets really old really fast, we need more if A: It's gonna appeal to WWE fans or B: It's gonna apply to gamers in general. That's all.

Number 17 and 18 i want back . Doesn't even make sense why 17 hasn't returned . We still see that in wrestling alot .and the spinner championship should move even if you cant control it. Also the spinner looks so bad in 23.
I hate how they took out leaning ladders you can lean the ladder on the ropes to jump out but you can’t lean the ladder from outside the ring to jump in or on the ladder 🤦🏾♂️
The wrestlers in 23 jumping around like rabbits whenever you get close looks so bad
2K games are garbage, and if it weren't for the graphics, they wouldn't be able to stand up to the worst THQ, No Mercy, or WCW Revenge games.
The principle of comparison does not exist for me between 2K trash and any wrestling game before it, and I have not missed any wrestling game since 90s.
Perhaps the new AEW game will create a competition that will restore glory to the world of wrestling games.
They dont ever have Batista's rope shake in the games but at least then, I would just use that ultimate control in that clip right after the Spinebuster and before the thumbs up/down taunt.
2k don’t care about wrestling games like how THQ did , only way we would get a better wrestling games or basketball game if they leave 2k. 2k sucks at making games.
This game shows how much better the product WWE was back then. Less gore, less ideas, safety first. It´s just not as fun anymore.

When comes to career/season mode, my favorite would be WWE Smackdown Shut your mouth. Probably due to better free roam, less restricted in how you want to do the story....
Things that should make sense in 2K23 if the devs would have bothered:
- Crowd Area Interactions (including climbing the scaffolding just to make high dives
- Intergender matches (we have Chyna and Rhea Ripley beating men, and I wanna see this again).
- Elimination Chamber Finisher dives
- Ultimate Grapples (for controls)
- Hell in a Cell door opening (not chained)
- Ripping up crowd signs
- Complaining to the referee (especially if you have a superstar who happens to be a Karen)
- Leaning ladders on another ladder
- Ignoring the referee.
- Climbing announcers table (I missed this so much).
What wouldn't make sense in WWE 2k23 today:
- spinner belt (I know spinning is cool but not anymore :( )
- locker rooms (don't need this necessarily unless it has season mode)
- Season mode (the game is focused mostly on WWE history than making your own Season mode (Universe is actually a sandbox but it's hard to execute the "season mode" style))
- multiple backstage areas (too much work to do but need more interactive objects though)
Also, SVR 2007 is better than WWE 2K23 in terms of mechanics. But would still love to have them in the most recent WWE games.
Some svr 2011 moves.. you could drag opponents by the legs and to the ring post to make them the most painful move ever 😂

They probably decided to follow the era when the center plate was fixed and no longer spun. Still doesn't justify using the static "spinner" belt for the era when it was still a spinning one

Number 1 isn't from SmackDown VS Raw 2007, it's from SmackDown VS Raw 2008. I would have one of my female created characters wrestle her male opponents in that opened area. Also, in SmackDown VS Raw, you can do Intergender Elimination Chamber & Hell In A Matches.

Wow all these years of loving and playing this game and I didn’t even know that you could grab and rip up crowd signs. Or maybe I just forgot but I remember everything else that made this game one the best that they ever made!
