I was in the US Army in the 1990s. These listings are in order of size. 10-25 men is a SQUAD. 50-100 men is a PLATOON. 150-400 is a Company / Battery (artillery). 800-1500 is a BATTALION, 3,000-6000 is a BRIGADE, 15,000+ is a DIVISION. There are always multiple smaller units (2 or more, never just 1) composed of each larger unit. That's why there seems to be a gap in the numbers. Squads are rarely ever addressed, but they are titled with LETTERS just like COMPANIES / BATTERIES. Every other unit has NUMBERS. For instance, I was in MSP, HHC, 1/27 INF, 2 BDE, 25 ID(L), Schofield Barracks Hawaii. I'll break that down: Platoon: MSP (Mess Platoon, Food Service Specialists [MOS: 92G10]) This was never addressed on paperwork or mail. We had 4 squads, but they were not addressed. For my platoons in Basic Training and AIT, (2nd / 1st) they were addressed. Company: HHC (Headquarters, Headquarters Company). This was the company with specialized platoons, usually comprised with quartermaster support roles, like food service, postal, fuel, supply depot, medical, etc. The rest of the companies were basic infantry, Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, etc. Battalion: 1/27 INF. 1st of the 27th Infantry Regiment, "Wolfhounds". This comprised of HHC, A, B, C & D companies. Brigade: 2 BDE. 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, "Warriors." This was mostly an administrative collective, featuring the Battalions of 1/27 INF "Wolfhounds," 1/21 INF "Gimlets," 1/14 INF "Golden Dragons," and 2/25 AR (Aviation Regiment). All the Food Service Specialists from HHC companies in these battalions, worked at the 2 BDE DFAC (Dining Facility) at C-Quad on Foote St, where 1/21 and 1/14 housing barracks were. This was the barracks quad where many scenes in "From Here To Eternity" are filmed. 1/14 INF "Gimlets" is no longer stationed there, and 2/25 AR is mostly a part of 25 CAB Combat Aviation Brigade, but some of their female cooks worked with us at 2 BDE DFAC, otherwise, we would have only had men, as we were infantry units, and women were not in the infantry back then. Our DFAC on Foot St provided food for the 25 CAB. Our full meal headcount was over 4,000 men and women per mealtime, each 1 1/2 hours long. Division: 25 ID(L). 25th Light Infantry Division "Tropic Lightning." This is the command unit of the entire post of Schofield Barracks Hawaii. You will always see a DIVISION CREST on the right shoulder of a soldier's uniform. It consists of a Taro Leaf (Hawaiian native plant) with a lighting bolt in it. On BDU / ASU (Battle Dress Uniform, Army Service Uniform) it is green and black. On Class A Dress (green suit, tie, ribbons and medals), it is Gold and Red. This unit has recently dropped the (L) for light infantry.
I’m a family friend to some really good people but their two oldest daughters have had a rough go of it before their Dad got custody. Their Dad recently told me that he caught his 10 year old daughter twerking for TikTok. I told her that she’s too young to be doing shit like that and to knock it off. Instead of investing her money and having some sort of exit strategy, she spent money on a high end sports car that she doesn't need (and barely drives because she can't drive a manual), she buys Chanel and Balenciaga crap basically every week, and that doesn't even get into the plastic surgery she's had. She's put herself in a position where she's either going to have to go all out into getting cornholed on camera or is going to be a 40 year old woman that sells her million+ dollar home and can't get a job because her "model name" is all too similar to her real name... so a quick Google search will show her IG and spicier content regardless. Happens in the Marines too. There was a female LT who was running her own prostitute service out of one of the water buffalos. People were drinking water contaminated by some unsavory fluids without even knowing it. She was eventually caught when a Gunney heard moans from inside one day and looked into the propped open hatch. Knew one girl that apparently had slept with half the guys in the barracks, I yeeted myself away from that one when I found out she was severely damaged goods.

I was in the US Army in the 1990s. These listings are in order of size. 10-25 men is a SQUAD. 50-100 men is a PLATOON. 150-400 is a Company / Battery (artillery). 800-1500 is a BATTALION, 3,000-6000 is a BRIGADE, 15,000+ is a DIVISION. There are always multiple smaller units (2 or more, never just 1) composed of each larger unit. That's why there seems to be a gap in the numbers. Squads are rarely ever addressed, but they are titled with LETTERS just like COMPANIES / BATTERIES. Every other unit has NUMBERS.
For instance, I was in MSP, HHC, 1/27 INF, 2 BDE, 25 ID(L), Schofield Barracks Hawaii. I'll break that down:
Platoon: MSP (Mess Platoon, Food Service Specialists [MOS: 92G10]) This was never addressed on paperwork or mail. We had 4 squads, but they were not addressed. For my platoons in Basic Training and AIT, (2nd / 1st) they were addressed.
Company: HHC (Headquarters, Headquarters Company). This was the company with specialized platoons, usually comprised with quartermaster support roles, like food service, postal, fuel, supply depot, medical, etc. The rest of the companies were basic infantry, Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, etc.
Battalion: 1/27 INF. 1st of the 27th Infantry Regiment, "Wolfhounds". This comprised of HHC, A, B, C & D companies.
Brigade: 2 BDE. 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, "Warriors." This was mostly an administrative collective, featuring the Battalions of 1/27 INF "Wolfhounds," 1/21 INF "Gimlets," 1/14 INF "Golden Dragons," and 2/25 AR (Aviation Regiment). All the Food Service Specialists from HHC companies in these battalions, worked at the 2 BDE DFAC (Dining Facility) at C-Quad on Foote St, where 1/21 and 1/14 housing barracks were. This was the barracks quad where many scenes in "From Here To Eternity" are filmed. 1/14 INF "Gimlets" is no longer stationed there, and 2/25 AR is mostly a part of 25 CAB Combat Aviation Brigade, but some of their female cooks worked with us at 2 BDE DFAC, otherwise, we would have only had men, as we were infantry units, and women were not in the infantry back then. Our DFAC on Foot St provided food for the 25 CAB. Our full meal headcount was over 4,000 men and women per mealtime, each 1 1/2 hours long.
Division: 25 ID(L). 25th Light Infantry Division "Tropic Lightning." This is the command unit of the entire post of Schofield Barracks Hawaii. You will always see a DIVISION CREST on the right shoulder of a soldier's uniform. It consists of a Taro Leaf (Hawaiian native plant) with a lighting bolt in it. On BDU / ASU (Battle Dress Uniform, Army Service Uniform) it is green and black. On Class A Dress (green suit, tie, ribbons and medals), it is Gold and Red. This unit has recently dropped the (L) for light infantry.
I was a 92G as well. From 98-03.

I’m a family friend to some really good people but their two oldest daughters have had a rough go of it before their Dad got custody. Their Dad recently told me that he caught his 10 year old daughter twerking for TikTok. I told her that she’s too young to be doing shit like that and to knock it off. She and I are really close cuz I’ve known her for a while and she usually listens to what I have to tell her. But the fact it’s so normalized and encouraged for young girls to act that way is really sad and honestly, kind of disturbing. And the fact I have to make a naive 10 YEAR OLD GIRL promise to stop doing such things is sad to me.
It is sad. Back in the old days just holding hands was considered frowned upon. Now girls are literally doing the dirty when they're not even out of middle school yet. I was a senior in highschool and saw a freshman girl who was already 5 weeks pregnant. She gave birth to the baby by the time my prom rolled around.

This is the risk when parents don't manage the experiences their children are allowed to have. As a guy I have never understood why guys would participate in a train.
