    It happened to me a few months ago, and after she gave me that bullshit, I told her : you're NOT working, I'm paying for EVERYTHING so, if anyone is gonna sleep on the sofa, it's going to be YOU! She looked at me baffled but then I added, it's either the sofa, or you can sleep in your car! That argument was over in a minute! Thanks Roma for your support towards men! WE need it!

    The statement "We have literally trained women to be narcists" is really sticking with me. Really makes me think that the standards or "gentlemanly" behavior towards women that is taught from very early on can be very harmful by creating this imbalance of value between the sexes. I'll be chewing on this one for a good while. Thanks for the share.

    • @effexon
      @effexon 8 місяців тому

      women are like that from childhood, heck even boys are like that, diffference is boys are early weened out of that behaviour and put to place, feet on ground everywhere. not that boys or men would want that anyway but women dwell on it and now they have full pass.

    • @rcrawford42
      @rcrawford42 8 місяців тому +14

      Gentlemanly behavior required lady-like behavior in return. Too many women decided their happiness at a given moment was more important than acting properly, and it took a couple generations for guys to realize the deal was broken.
      Which is tragic, because most guys just want someone to share life with, but instead end up dating women who will toss them aside the moment they think someone else will make them happier.

    • @micahnewby7964
      @micahnewby7964 8 місяців тому +3

      Hard disagree. It's not the gentlemanly behavior (exclusively, of course there are individual exceptions) that creates the imbalance. Men and women complement each other because they are different, and _both_ roles are required to form a perfect union. Being single is a different conversation, but if a relationship is what you're looking for light can't exist without darkness, nor yin without yang, nor good without evil.
      If both sides are raised well there is balance. If one's sense of self or ego is unduly inflated (male _or_ female), I guarantee it had already become so _before_ the relationship they're currently in

    • @b20di3
      @b20di3 8 місяців тому +4

      @@micahnewby7964 I will explain what I mean. Lets say the general goal is for men and women to see each other's as equals with equal value. Most of what is expected in "gentlemanly behavior" is about not treating a woman as a strong and independent person that doesn't need assistance from a man but as either a lesser person that can't do for themselves or puts them on a pedestal of higher value and importance that you have to serve. To not comply is to be considered less of a man. So I would say a lot of value assigning happens in this way of thinking. This is by no means the only social construct we suffer under that does this but it is a significant one.

    • @micahnewby7964
      @micahnewby7964 8 місяців тому

      @@b20di3 I see where the difference is. Honestly? I understand what you mean when viewed from the perspective you present, I just have some fundamental disagreements with said perspective
      "Let's say the general goal is men and women are equal, with equal value". No, let's _not_ say that. If we are both the same, one of us is unnecessary. Fitting together perfectly? The dream. Being two of exactly the same halves? Like forces tend to repel; _opposites_ attract
      Also, I can't speak for other men exhibiting chivalric behavior, but I'm not holding doors open or walking on the street side of the sidewalk or stepping to someone who steps to you because I think you can't or that you're lesser. And I'm damn sure not doing it because of what someone else will think of me if I don't. In fact, most of the time there is _no_ conscious "because"; it's hardwired in with the protective instincts
      That said, no one's perfect and people can do good things badly or for the wrong reasons. I am sorry if society or your own lived experiences have taught you that we're all over here thinking we gotta hewp the hewpwess widdle wady, but I promise we aren't all like that

    It's so confusing...some women claim to be a warrior queen but want to be treated like a princess. They demand equality and then want to be placed on a pedestal.

      Why struggle to understand what they want. Simply do not care what they want. If they are not all over you already then what they want is not you (not a personal attack on you.. just a general statement.) If you encounter one that actually wants you (again, not an attack on you.. just a general statement) she will either be all over you or she will play games.. and if she plays games then she is not the one you want.

    (Agree.) (Adding...) Part of the problem is society winks at female emotionalism (legally, socially, psycholigically). They are given leeway (or a safe space) in which this self centered emotionalism is allowed to fester.
    Women need to be taught (as well a society) that emotions need to be controlled/channelled for good. Otherwise we get "spoiled children" as adults.

    I've been wondering about that very same thing. I suspect it's because too many men view the woman as "the prize" rather than as a fellow human being with virtues and flaws of her own. The thing is by viewing the woman as the prize, you elevate her and subjugate yourself, giving away all your power and value in the process. Only by maintaining a perspective of mutuality and reciprocal and equal value can this dynamic be overcome. But this will require retraining both men and women to function with appropriate mutual respect in this new paradigm.

    Subclinical trait narcissism is one of the dark triad/dark tetrad personality traits. As third wave feminism has progressed, we have seen more women suffering from the mental health problems that were once only prominent in men. Women’s suicide stats are starting to go up and it’s because those dark traits can only bring one down.

    Holy Snakey’s nail on the head moment right there. I think you’re right a lot of women that I know including my own mother are toxic, narcissistic people, and I think you’re right I think we have trained women to be a narcissist. Somehow, God help us all.

    I'm tired of that myself. For 30 Years a lot of music contained the idea of a guy being "strong enough to be her man " . Decode that and you get, is a guy willing to be an emotional punching bag for a Toxic, abusive, Narcissistic Chick who is more than willing to do things to her guy ( including flirting and cheating) , SHE, wouldn't want done to HER, in a million Years, and expect him to put up with it, as though it was his privilege to do so.

    Thank you sister, your spirit is strong and your vision & observations are groundbreaking. The feminist princess powers have gotten to be too strong in our modern day and tend to bully nowadays rather than nurture, I don’t doubt there are crappy dudes and dudettes out there but I do believe you hit the nail on the head on this particular topic.
    ‘We’ appreciate your sympathetic and compassionate view and ‘we’, being guys, will try to humble ourselves toward good woman like yourself to do the same in similar situations. It takes 2 to tango, hopefully, with more trust & empathy, compassion leading to more passion!
    True compromise. Peace. 🙏🏻

    I know, I know...but as a Woman, Wife and Mom I very much enjoyed this video and you are bullseye-accurate with what you said!!!
    More women need to see vids like this...a brutally honest MIRROR so they can realize how effed-up they truly are in their narcissism and where it comes from and costs them.
    Husband and I? Our approach is 'It's us vs. the World'. He's got my back and I've got his and we've both got our daughter's covered.
    Roma ((HUG)) Thank-you again for speaking plainly, honestly and ripping through the veneer of politiplastic that is smothering what it is to be Human.

    I had several girl friends over the years, and the most common thing that broke up the friendship, was the argument, "you know what I'm talking about". If I knew what you were talking about I wouldn't have asked, and not once have they ever come forward to apologize for assuming I could read their minds. The times were I messed up, and apologized, only one ever came back at me like you described, she was out the door that night. I admit, I have low tolerance for disrespect.

    My ex's version of "Hey babe a friend is here so maybe we should pick this up later" is verbally assaulting me saying her piece and then shutting the door in my face. To her that was trying to get away and stop the argument. She also would apologize a lot by saying "I'm sorry that you felt that way."
