Why would we go with something that is $300 more then was in the video. Especially when the winch featured in the video is $100 cheaper than that winch in today’s pricing
You guys make great videos but I just want to clarify that a synthetic line definitely, 100%, without a doubt WON'T just fall to the ground if it snaps. It shoots back exactly like a steel cable. It does less damage since it weighs almost nothing but it'll still f#@k you up if you're in the line of fire. Just wanted to make people aware so they dont hover around thinking they're safe and in zero danger
Thanks for letting us know about this. It helps alot
The most important instruction is on a yellow card attached to the tie bar and says : Loosen the bar to allow for control box bracket install and tighten after. I lost one hour trying to install those brackets, prying on it before returning to all the papers included and found this note. 10 minutes later all was set.
Thanks for this. I installed mine about 9 years ago and forgot about those darn square nuts. I had to remove the winch to do some maintenance and reinstall it. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! -Zach
Is there a cover that fits this winch snugly I have the AEV premium bumper so it drops down into a valley . TIA
Will this winch fit in the smittybuilt m1 winch bumper?
Very helpful. Thanks
There’s no circuit relay or fuse? What if a guy had an accident is there a surge protector built into the winch?
Put the fairlead on first I had a pain getting my hand between my winch and the nuts
If I have a rubicon do I need a winch plate ? 2017
Did you hook it up to something to wind in, or were you just holding it?
Anybody know where I can purchase a new 5mm Allen key bolt that holds the winch line? Mine is completely stripped so my Allen key doesn’t grip on anymore
Do you recommend a circuit breaker between winch and battery on positive lead?
It’s just added protection…also easier to manually reset the breaker if it pops.
I know on HF winches if it’s wireless, it will always be pulling a draw. Since it’s wireless the winch will always be looking for a signal. When I’m not using my winch the breaker is popped so it’s not drawing off the battery. If I’m going to use the winch I pop the breaker back in.
Synthetic lines don’t fall to the ground when they break under load. They’re still dangerous if they break.
You called the 19mm wrench a socket lol
What's the range of the wireless remote
I have this winch.. I would say atleast 25ft thinking back to the times I’ve used it
I have not tried it, the guys at 4wheelparts told me that at about 60 feet you will start to see some delays in the control. Not bad. And they highly recommended this winch.
What size are those rires?
They are 35x12.50R17 BFG KM2s! -Zach
@@extremeterrain thanks
For any chance you have the link of the wheels and tires ?
Hey Carlos! Sorry for the late reply! Here are two links for you. Hope this helps! -Zach

Old video? He says $430, yet the link takes you to $564?
The prices fluctuate a bit. I saw one the other day on Amazon for $433 and now it’s up to $510.
@@4Runnernguns
I seen the same thing I was about to go buy it as well. Go to 4wd.com you can get it for 450 shipped no taxes right now.
No it’s up to over $700. I’m tired of getting emails from these people with coupon codes that can never be applied for the products that I want. Especially the ones that are featured in the email that I received. It gets to be pretty annoying
Current price on the website on Aug 1st 2022. $675
Copy and paste discount code... you might be entering a zero instead of the letter O.
Ryan Houck?! lol
$430? Did the price really go up that much in 2 years?
Foreals. I was just looking at it now. Fuckn $600 now
Now is $669
What bumper is that? Thanks.
That's the Smittybilt XRC Gen2 Front Bumper! Check it out at the following link! -Zach

You may want to pull the video off. Unless you want to honor the $430 price tag that it advertises. Instead of the over $700 price tag that your website has once you click the link provided in this video. That’s quite a bit of an increase over one year. Maybe the same people that are making ammo or making this winch
He hasn't any obligation.
And I just picked it up for about $550. So you're wrong on both counts.
@@twidget59 that’s still higher.
Besides that item is price regulated. There’s no way that you picked up a brand new one that has never been opened for that. If so, please let me know. That way I can get that company in trouble. And obviously you didn’t buy it from their website
Not as easy as it look in a 5th gen 4runner
He needs to get better zip tie cutters and work on some cable management...
Funny? It looks just like my fiery red winch. For half the price. Makes you wonder?
Metric nuts and bolts? Is nothing made in USA?
Have a look at 6:22. Made in China.
nope
even some warn winches are designed in the States but made in China. They are rapidly controlling the world.
😥 ordered a Warn Zeon, made in US, later found out it doesn't fit my application, so I cancelled order. Only options that fit for me are made in China 😭😢
current price...... $726.99
But a Warn Evo for that or Super Winch for little less
I like the SB but man the reviews are so hit and miss
steel cable failure = possible death, who cares about the damage it could cause, you can replace a window or repaint a panel but you can't fix death
That uneasy feeling when someone shows up with a Smittybilt winch instead of a Warn.....
That uneasy feeling when you're an elitist Jeeper.....
@@korg47237 Its not an issue of being elitist...Warn is the top brand for dependability while Smittybilt quality is extremely hit or miss.
Not everybody wants to spend 800 bucks on a winch.
@@Greivous429 8,000 pound rated Warn winches start at $400 or so.
I guess I'm about to find out, but a submersible 10,000lbs winch w/ synth line and wireless remote, and a ton of good reviews by pros and amateur wheelers deserves a solid chance. I used a MileMarker for years on my old Disco without any issues, other than being sloooow. This X20 has a 6.6hp motor, so I'm happy to try it. I do have a Warn shackle thou. Does that make me cooler? 😂😂😂
