It's hard to focus with Bill Ward absolutely destroying that drum kit.
Like a rented mule
I know right.. It must be a rental.
Ozzy and Tony get most of the attention but Bill was the true heart and soul of Sabbath
Rob Scah Bill and Geezer. Ozzy & Tommy always got the glory, but egad, that rhythm section. Like cannon fire.
Seriously.
It's just funny to me that his singing voice is great and his talking voice is....what it is
Well.. He's ozzy.
He's a brummy, they all sound like that from Birmingham, to some extent!
He’s Brummy and he stutters...As a person who stutters I can understand that struggle
Well yeah hes from Birmingham but he also did shit loads of drugs it took a tole of on his neurological health so you can imagine why he talks like that
He only started mumbling in the early 90's. He used to speak very clearly.
Best thing about Ozzy's voice is that it's instantly recognizable and possesses an oddly compelling mix of power and vulnerability that really accentuates it amidst the heavy onslaught of the music around him. It just fits in perfectly.
yeah, whatever you said...
I think it's amazing he can still sing fairly ok with both Parkinsons and his Birmingham accent. Both make him virtually impossible to follow for long when he speaks and he now speaks fairly slow compared to his youth days. However, he keeps tempo still. This is probably due to his body having some muscle memory with most of the songs he sings.
So beautifully written
Ryy Dog Actually Ozzy is diagnosed with «Parkin syndrome» a disease which is very similar to Parkinsons syndrome... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ozzy_Osbourne
And a very theatrical sound...like a horror movie within a voice tone
i read in Ozzy´s Biography that he was gonna get lessons to sing better, but geezer told him not to, because he would lose that.. "ozzy thing"..
she not even listen the song to the end... you really think, she will read something over ozzy..? that was by far her most worst reaction i saw...
@@seelenwinter6662 no.. why would she? i just told her...
You guys are all into music and shit, but I just wonder if the carpet matches the drapes
its probably an age thing.. Music is still fun and interesting when you are all grown up. pubes are not...
@@dr.juerdotitsgo5119 if you see enough of her video's its pretty obvious that she is.... uhh 'top heavy'.... alas, always dressed modestly....
Untrained voice yet unique in a way that no one can legitimate cover him. When he sing you know is Ozzy and no one else.
true.. and sadly, it s not mentioned enough.... nobody can do a decent ozzy, not even halford..... and he tryed...
Nobody else has dared signing this drunk or high
Zakk Wylde actually asked Ozzy if he'd gotten training or something during Black Sabbath's Sabotage era because his voice was SO powerful, Ozzy's response was: "No Zakk, just lots and lots of drugs."
Ozzy had that haunting spell-casting sound that fit Sabbath perfectly,
Let’s go people, we’re turning her into a metalhead 🤘🏻
He didn’t change the lyrics. In the early days Ozzy did have a bad habit of forgetting lyrics.
Beth reacts to king diamond / merciful fate lol
Ozzy has been so badly damaged by drugs you can’t be sure he could spell any of the notes he’s supposed to sing. But put him on stage and it’s all muscle memory for the master of darkness
Even when he was smashed and walking around like a zombie, magic on the mic. Hard to believe this was 49 years ago, 21 years before I was even born and my missus is seeing him next year. Living legend
Prince*
@@rossturner3650 Best line on his reality show, when Sharon was setting up a concert and Ozzy saw there was a bubble blowing machine on stage: "Sharon, I can't have a bubble machine, I'm the Prince of f*ckin Darkness".
The English don’t die..
:( Ozzys postponed his England show, hope his neck heals up fast for the rest of the tour
C'mon ozzy still sounds great . Screaming every night since late 60's.
SHAAAAAARON!
Ozzy has hit or miss night live. Either he is dead on (the times I've seen him live in the past years have been great) or he falls flat. A lot has to do with health issues unfortunately I think.
Anytime I've seen him he was terrible.
@@YumiVanherck saw him 3 times over last 10 years . Brilliant.
He changed the lyrics in this version, just came out with what he felt, you would never really noptice. The band were immense here...the drummer was on fire.
chris mahon well originally the song was called “Walpurgis” which had darker lyrics. They changed them to the War Pigs lyrics you know after people accused them of being Charles Manson supporters, so I think they didn’t quite finish the War Pigs lyrics here and just used a couple verses they wrote
Bill Ward apparently used to have oxygen which he would take between songs, because he was exhausted after drumming.
steve m lyrics on walpurgis were way dark “see them anoint my head with dead rats blood, stick their stakes through me!”
@@Homie3794 Bingo!
Bill Ward is absolutely tearing it up! Great drummer..
Beth's channel is my favorite.
She actually shows you HOW to modulate your voice and pitch etc . Most other vocal coaches on UA-cam just tell you what they see but don't tell you how the singer CREATES their sounds..Beth does and this is an EXTREMELY important factor
I have already learned new ways to sing that I couldn't figure out before .
Big Thanks to you Beth🏆🎉🎉🏆
Bill ward is phenomenal here. One of the greatest drummers of all time.
Josh Fallon he smacks the skins as hard as anyone ever did
The greatest of all time in my opinion
@@meanjoe4299 I agree with you, he's number one in my opinion as well.
Him, Bonham and Appice are the holy trinity
Beth's talking about singing, meanwhile Tony Iommi is reminding the guitar players that tone comes from the fingers.
If your fretting hand has metal caps on the ends of your index and middle fingers, you're going to have a certain sound no one else does. His story of coming back from that industrial accident is quite inspiring.
No kidding but this is my heaviest song ever..no crappy effects like nowadays just pure solid zhit! Thank you Beth.
there is enough stuff without effects that is pure solid shit which is much harder.
don't get me wrong some Sabbath songs hit me personally much harder than certain death metal for example.
But there is enough DM, BM, Grind and so on and so so forth that is played without any effects and is pure solid shit that is much harder and heavier.
Oh forgot to mention the "nowadays" there is enough stuff that I've described even nowadays.
Yes!!!! I recommended that you watch this a few weeks ago!!! I’m glad you liked it.
Maybe he isn't an amazing singer, BUT as a performer, he's one of the best, he has an amazing energy in stage even when he's 70 years old.
I just started watching your videos and now im binging all of them. Great content and feedback on the singers.
The best thing with Ozzie is that in his speaking voice you almost need subtitles but he's clear as a bell singing.
Ozzy****
I absolutely pinched my nose and tried to find the sound you were describing and it happened instantly. Well done.
The best thing Ozzy did was not to take vocal lessons. His raw/unpolished singing was perfect for the black sabbath sound. What also made him great was his stage presence and interaction with the audience. He really was larger than life in the music world.
I saw Black Sabbath in concert 2016, my freshman year of high school, and just Ozzy himself last year. It was fucking amazing. For an old ass dude he absolutely killed it. I've been listening to them since I was little because my dad would play them a lot.
Black Sabbath were the innovators of all metal the original :-)
nope, that was deep purple
Amen
@@Harald_Reindl Deep Purple in Rock was their "Heavy" rock sound released in June 1970. Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath had been released months before. You could split hairs and say Cream hendrix and the Who invented metal but it is generally accepted that black sabbath were the one group everyone copied ever since that original album from Metallica - Korn - death doom and groove metal today :-)
@@Alderbeck the heavy sound was there before Ian Gillan, just listen to the guitar parts of the Beatles Help cover long before "In Rock" and in context of virtuosity Sabbath is nice, not more and not less and Ozzy versus Gillan......:-)
Harald Reindl Deep purple cake after man.
Good Lord, Beth is just so gorgeous, and she has to be the only person in the world that can make a dark, gritty song about death, war, politics and general chaos sound bubbly when she explains the technicalities involved in the performance.
Keep up the great work!
I love red heads, and I adore the Scottish accent. She ticks all the boxes :D
@@psykowz Same here. Red head, incredibly cute. I'm in love.
That light green background she's been using the past few videos is really setting off her natural colors: the red hair, the pink skin, the grey of her eyes. She wore a blouse with a lot of grey in it in one video, and it really made her eyes pop, too. Girl is color-blocking like mad, now. And it works, brilliantly. Of course, as others have pointed out, it doesn't hurt that she's lovely to begin with. 😁
Creep
This is kinda creepy
Ozzy's got the most metalic voice I've ever heard.
Along with Tony's finger REAL heavy metal.
Ozzy has a naturally strong voice. That's something your born with.
ozzy singing flat gives it that rustic rough around the edges sound and it compliments the band so well omg ;o
I tried to pinch my nose while "singing" an A and manage to have that stable pitch you're talking about... and actually learned a lot about how you can move the resonance of some sounds... very interesting, thanks a lot!!!
Most energetic person I've ever seen live. Puts on a great show. Seen him twice!
I dont know about anybody else, but I am pinching my nose.😊 Ozzy is just so real.. What you see is what you get. No B.S. God Bless him. You warm my heart Beth. Keep up the fantastic work
Ozzy’s the GOAT
Excellent take in my opinion. Love how you say it as it is. Thank you!
All hail the king OZZY!!! almost 50 yrs in the biz
Oooohhh!!
I've been whaiting for this One!👏👏👏👏🤘🤘😂
I love his voice myself it fits perfectly with that raw sound the band puts out. If it was cleaner it wouldn't fit
Yep, I was one of those people clinching my nose! Not a phenomenal singer, but one hell of a performer. This from a 50-year-old, familiar with UA-cam and a huge Ozzy and Black Sabbath fan! Keep up the good work Beth, I love it.
should do the ozzy and lita ford duet "close my eyes forever" , I think it's among the best ozzy ever did.
I just viewed Lita Ford and Lzzy Hale "Close My Eyes Forever" Both on double guitars ua-cam.com/video/54rokjpt3WU/v-deo.html
Agree!
Beth, you are a treasure!! Absolutely adorable ❤️
I'm not sure Ozzy has lost much of his range. He just did a song with Post Malone and was hitting some pretty elevated notes. Sounds like the same old Ozzy. (To me) LOL
@Naters yeah but it's Ozzy so.... I'm just impressed that hes still alive 😂
Shallex SBS is a testament to how good of a singer he was, he can’t hit those notes live and hasn’t been able to for years
@Naters that song was edited to fuck, no way ozzy would naturally sing like that
tbh its really only in the last decade that things went south to any serious degree. prior to say, 2005-2004, he was still doing fantastic. don't think anyone at a concert at the time would believe he was the man that had spent the past 30+ years front-lining one of the first heavy metal acts in history.
@Shallex yeah. You are right. I can hear the difference just thinking about it. But I still don't think he's doing too bad for a man who is in his 70's (?) And been doing it for 50 years. 😊
Ozzy is Ozzy and doesn't who love him. Beth is so darn cute and expressive. I don't sing and know nothing about singing except what I like but, I find myself watching her videos to get her "take" on various performers but mainly to listen to her voice and watch the fabulous expressions on her face.
Black Sabbath in Paris 1970 was one of the greatest concerts ever
I would love to see you react to Judas Priest - Devil's Child (Live Vengeance '82)!
i have an "ozzy-ear"- i'm a bit hard of hearing on the left side because of sony walkman- 1984, and i picked up black sabbath, master of reality, and sabbath bloody sabbath all on cassette. awesome stuff. i would suggest the faith-no-more cover with mike patton delivering an awesome version of war pigs...
Beth,
Your hair is great in this video...... I am not shocked by that. Ozzy thought the bat was fake. I saw Sabbath in the 1970's. A great show..... High energy rock & roll. Dive deep into their work. You will not be sorry.
Always on my playlist. War pigs.👍👍
Bertha, Ozzy is prince of darkness.
He can sing that way he wants..
Love your content
The funny thing about Sabbath is that they had much much higher skilled vocalists than Ozzy Osbourne. Like Ronnie James Dio or Glenn Hughes - but still, it's Ozzy that most people see as the one true Sabbath vocalist. Not only because he was in the original line-up but because he had a certain vibe to his voice that just fit what Sabbath were going for so well. This eerie scariness, that horror story vibe. Just like Dave Mustaine isn't the best singer either, they just fit perfectly for the music they're playing.
The song Children of the Sea that you've reacted to a while back was originally a Black Sabbath song from their first album with Dio, Heaven and Hell. Which BTW. is another song which I'd love to see you react.
BTW. thanks for reacting to one of my favorite bands
Sascha Schneider similar vein to AC/DC. Bon Scott is the perennial front man associated with AC/DC despite sadly passing 39 years ago. Brian Johnson is the voice we all recognise though
Dio sabbath to me feels more like another Dio project than black sabbath (which isn't bad, Dio was amazing). But no one could touch that haunting impending darkness that ozzys voice brought the band. Without that they're just another Rainbow
@@adamknowles1 I think it's not quite like that with AC/DC. I know a lot of people who are not actually aware that there was Bon Scott at some time. They think that it's Brian Johnson singing in a different style - because in all honesty, both sound similar if you're not paying much attention. And I personally see Brian Johnson as AC/DC's main vocalist now, because he has spent so much more time with them.
@@Roastedpot Agreed, although I very much like the albums with Dio, I just wish that they had labelled themselves "Heaven & Hell" right from the start. And well, it only got more generic from there on. Only Ozzy's return made Sabbath sound like Sabbath again, at least a bit.
Beth I love your channel
im still waiting for a matt barlow video reaction !!!!! love your channel greetings from greece !!!
I grew up loving the man fiercely. I watch him and Jack on a show on cable where they travel together and spend time and even at times with Ozzy's granddaughter. It is so satisfying to see them in this show. No matter what he did early in his career he has been a great father for such a long time. I never knew my dad and it always makes me incredibly sad,but I guess a good sadness.
Thank you for your candid evals. Your energy and reactions. overall are very engaging. Ozzy's voice evolved over time. Please consider giving a listen to Tony Martin ( who has a great voice) was their vocalist in the late 80s. "Anno mundi", "its a hard life to love, " Immaculate deception" and "it feels good to me" are my favorites.
Beth you need a little more black Sabbath and Ozzy on his own in your life. Black Sabbath is where all heavy metal started! Great vid❤️❤️💋🖤🖤
Holy sh+ I did the resonance technique and fielt my nostrils swell and was able to correct that. Great advice! And I saw Ozzy and Sabbath play at the last show in the United States. He still had it.
You can tell that this is a transitional stage between the Basement Tapes and 'Luke's Wall' album version of the song due to the difference in lyrics. I love seeing a band develop through video record.
It's fascinating to watch artists grow x
Ozzy is a natural talent. I read somewhere that he had just started singing when Black Sabbath was formed.
Back then in like 1969, that vocal style that we today might call a rock voice was really rare.
I think it’s the emotion in his voice resonating from his heart his belief in the words causing the reality to come truth to others
I saw Ozzy back then and you are on point.
This was never though l see Beth react to The Prince Of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne but she did and it Rocks !!🤘🤘
Prince of Darkness? Slave of Sharon, you mean.
I love Ozzy and Black Sabbath! Best band ever!
My favorite song ❤❤❤😻
Que hermosa voz tienes.

Wow wow wow exelente mi pequitas 👏👏🍀🍀
You should do 10:56 / Second Son Of R by Oathbreaker. Their performance of that song on Audiotree Live is truly something else, especially when it comes to the vocals.
I love your channel!! I'd like to watch you analize Messiah Marcolin's voice! Cheers :)
UA-cam only place a nobody can judge a living legend
Ozzy will never die!!!!
It’s 4am and I’m in my bed pinching my nose going “ehhh.”
Felix Unger, Is that you?
I am at 5am
I know I’m not patron monetarily, and so have limited input. But I do really love that you provided more practical advice in this vid than with stuff ya liked.
Honestly the most fascinating thing about Ozzy is that if you only ever heard him speak, you'd have no fucking clue the man could sing as clear and powerfully as he does.
Great reaction... Big time Black Sabbath fan here.... well done, kudos. Another artist in that era was Rodney James Dio
Please try this for a first time reaction by a family band called Liliac that just finished touring with some major rock bands. The lead singer (Melody - 16 years old) is a major Dio fan (does cover of Holy Diver and Rainbow In The Dark) ; has her very unique and special sound. The band consists of brother and sister (drummer) and they toured with diff rock bands this summer. A song that is their original called "Dancing In The Dark may be a great place to start. @
FYI if you hear more, his voice goes with the music beats as he hummed the lyrics to the music this is how lyrics were written and ozzy can sing the lyrics he says this long later in interviews...
Ozzy said he had some musical training: testing horns in a car factory. For ability I’m always impressed that Iommi could lose the ends of his fingers, get some extensions, switch to playing left handed, and get on with it.
Weird.. I just saw your video on Changes, went to the sabbath version, and then went to this very war pigs video and then I received a notification you’re reacting to it.. Crazy how life works sometimes. Edit: Thanks Patrick for helping me see I needed to edit my comment.😂
Tyler how stoned are u? Lmao
patrick Bowe I’m not. I should have clarified I just watched her video on changes (non sabbath version) went to go hear the sabbath version again, and then said this is sad I need to hear sabbath how I think of sabbath which is songs like war pigs so, I played the live war pigs video and JUST finished watching it and I got a notification for this..I just thought that was crazy. Or I suppose “Neat” would have been a better word? It all happened back to back within like 15 or so minutes.But.. I don’t do drugs like that my friend. I did get a laugh out of your comment though. I see where you’re coming from.
"OH LORD YEAH !!!!!" :-D That's live from Paris, Bill Ward kills it on the drums @Beth Roars
Ozzy's high chest voice in Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is second to none. I bet even titans like Dio and Ian Gillan had a tough time filling his shoes.
I’d love to see a reaction to Katatonia. The singer isn’t anything that exactly stands out, but at the same time is so emotional that reacting to that could be great, somewhat along the lines of Maynard.
I fucking love Black Sabbath
Yes, you had me going eeeah. About time I booked a damned lesson. Current (excellent) vocal coach is on maternity leave. Give me a week or two to get my studio back together after our recent JCS production and I'll reach out.
Would love to see you react to Avantasia - The Scarecrow...live. The dual vocals of Tobias Sammet and Jorn Lande is simply amazing!
Tu voz es un sueño. 😍
If I did as much drinking and as many drugs as him, and still be alive?? Nothing short of a miracle!
True Rock and Roll Rebel. Legend
I actually saw Black Sabbath in Dublin a couple of years ago and Ozzy sounded really good...now i don't if they his vocals going through a processor or not, which is possible, but on the face of it he sounded great.
Great performance choice! His voice was really powerful back then.
Don't underestimate Ozzy. When my band (that has four quite decent singers) attempted to cover "Dreamer" by Ozzy, we all said "Yeah, what the hell, any of us can take on that song". Turned out that all of us failed miserably to do the song justice. We finally dropped it from our program.
I mean insane amounts of cocaine cannot have helped his vocal chords either.
Same with Rob Halford even though his fans don't want to admit that his voice is totally gone now.
That's all? Ozzy's voice makes magical any simple song.
The lyrics are timeless. Still apply to today
Ozzie's voice is phenomenal for Black Sabbath. None of the so called better singers that came after him can pull off that authentic Sabbath sound like Ozzie can. No he isn't the best singer out there but he has 'the voice' for this band which none other can touch. Personally, I think his flatness and vocal imperfections add to the musciality of this 'darker' metal sound, which doesnt require the precision and accuracy of hard rock music. Like Ian Anderson's flute playing in the early 70s, which was breathy and imprecise, the imperfections just make it all the more perfect.
Hope for some Ronnie James Dio reactions!
Beth already has reacted to Dio singing Children of the Sea a few months ago
You should react to the mars volta - inertiatic esp, you're gonna love it
Would love to see you listen to something of his in the late 80s early 90s to see how mature and smooth he gets.
You HAVE to do one of these with Jay Buchanan from Rival Sons. Absolute monster of a singer. Listen to one of rival sons acoustic live sessions. My favorite is his cover of “Hopelessly devoted” but all of them are great
You should react to Ozzy - Dreamer
Beth = 😍😍😍😍
god I love Bill Ward
Why did we only get 3 minutes of an 8 minute song? There was at the very least a whole other vocal verse.
Well aparently she made her point and said all the wanted to say about his singing on this song. The rest of the song can be found on youtube.
