    It blows my mind that someone could pull up to a person in broad daylight, in a residential neighborhood, in 2019, and murder a person, be caught on tape (even if it’s not the best video) and have their vehicle identified, and still not be caught. It’s absolutely terrifying. How can there be no leads? It makes no sense. We really aren’t safe at all

      This happened in the Houston area. I also live in Houston, and it's very large city with a lot of urban sprawl. Since I moved here, I've seen the population of the metro area jump from around 4 million people to close to 8 million now. In this city, it's very easy for a single vehicle/person to get lost in the crowd, and with the area being more than 70 miles across either way, that person could really have gone anywhere. Also, the truck was not that distinctive to be recognizable. Those larger pickup trucks are truly a dime a dozen here--They're most of what I see when I am out around town.
      Several years ago, my home was broken into while I was at a doctor appointment in broad daylight, just like Sarah's case. In many subdivisions here, there aren't a lot of people home during a weekday, most are at work. The people who broke into my home sold some of what they took to a pawnshop a few miles away, and the police recovered those items. At pawnshops, you have to give ID to sell there. Despite having that, the police never bothered to pursue the person who sold stolen property to the pawnshop, so yes, I can see how the truck wouldn't be found by the police here.

    The shooter driving around the house repeatedly the morning of the shooting AND the night before makes me think they were not in contact with Sergio. It doesn't make sense for them to be scoping out the place when they could just communicate with Sergio and know exactly what time to show up. The shooter arriving 4 minutes after he left makes me think they were parked somewhere close, waiting for his vehicle to pass by.
    My main question is how did they plan to kill her if she WASN'T having the garage sale? If she was inside her house instead of right out in the open? It seems like they knew she would be outside and vulnerable. That makes me wonder exactly who she told about the garage sale. It seems like something you'd mention casually to friends or family. "Oh yeah, I decided to have a last-minute garage sale to see if we can make some extra cash for the trip!"

      I do not think it was Sergio. He probably couldn't stand living it the same house, on the same property walking down the same driveway as Liz was murdered on. I can't imagine trying to live there. The immense trauma would be too much for most.
      As for the truck, I do not think it shows someone was working for Sergio. Liz had a fairly stable routine. If no one knew about the garage sale it's entirely possible that the murderer happened to do it on a day where opportunities aligned.
      There is nothing to say they had not driven past the house in days, weeks prior but in a different vehicle.

    I personally hear her say "good morning" "no it's not true" 2x and I hear "Sergio" I also hear something along "going to kill you" or "kill you" so my theory is the shooter told her before shooting her "Sergio send me to kill you" she responded "no it's not true".
    I saw no tactual tears in any of his interviews (I know it doesn't proof anything)
    He did get together and engaged withing the year. I just personally can't even imagine moving on if my husband is killed withing the year. It’s rather normal for people to set signs 🪧 out the morning of. Typically others will be having yard sales as well. And there are people that drive around looking for the signs. I genuinely think it's mistaken identity.
    I think it's a woman, her partner was having an affair or something, she's found out who with, but she had the wrong information.
    So she staked out the house, waited for Sergio to leave and took her chance.
    That's why it's sloppy, and why it was 'conveniently' just after Sergio left, and why they can't find any links

I know some people will say surely if someone was going to commit a murder, they'd make sure it was the right house they targeted, but I had a friend whose family moved into a house that previously belonged to a gambling addict and for YEARS they had people turning up in the middle of the night with weapons trying to break in, and got threatening letters demanding money. I guess word hadn't spread that it was a new family living there. To the point that the police gave them several panic buttons connected directly to the station to position around the house. There was also a case I remember watching on the news here in the UK about a guy who went to throw acid in the face of a man he believed to be a child abuser, but it was the wrong guy. He drove 6 hours or something and ended up throwing acid over an innocent man, blinding him for life and melting his whole face off. It was terrible.

    • @verngrl
      @verngrl 2 роки тому +29

      Yeah, I have to agree that this is the most likely scenario to me. The murder feels personal (the stalking, the verbal confrontation, etc.); yet, this woman and this car were so distinctive, and no effort was done by the killer to really cover her tracks at all. Yet, nobody in their circle of friends/family could identify her. In the absence of evidence of an affair on either side, it just feels as though this was a "personal" murder, but done by a complete stranger. There are plenty of incidents of people who imagine paranoid scenarios in their head and become fixated on taking their anger out on an unwitting target. Usually, they don't escalate to murder, but sometimes they do.

    my mind personally goes to a botched hit job and mistaken identity. My friends family moved into a house that previously belonged to a gambling addict and for YEARS they had people turning up in the middle of the night with weapons, or sending threatening letters demanding money. I guess word hadn't spread that it was a new family living there. Thank goodness they're okay now but I mean for *years* all sorts of sketchy folks turned up, to the point that the police gave them several panic buttons connected directly to the station to position around the house. In this case, for there to be no connection to her in terms of enemies or any marital issues, and yet clearly it not be a robbery, makes me think it was targeted but whoever it was didn't do their research - maybe they were just told that there was a man and woman at this residence and the woman was to be killed, but that couple had already moved, or lived on a street with a similar name, and they got it wrong.

      That has happened. True story. I can’t not remember the name but a woman was jogging and just outside of her house when a gunman came up to her and shot her, dead. When it was finally solved it was a case of mistaken identity . The person the gunman was to kill lived in a very similar neighborhood. So that kind of a thing does happen.

      Can certainly imagine the hitman noch knowing that the original target wasn't living there anymore. Or the client.
      Had a police guy stand infront of the door once asking if we're hiding some guy and the timeframe he gave me, the very house I lived in hadn't even been built yet. If you plan on murdering someone I would hope you did your research throughly and make sure it's the person you're targetting. I mean, you shouldn't even consider it, but given that people DO not even consider but go through with it, I wanted to believe they at least make sure they don't get anyone involved who has nothing to do with whatever the apparent issue is. "Whoops, messed up, sorry." just doesn't cut it.

      Unfortunately, the cameras are not that great. I know they show on CSI and other police procedural shows that you can just zoom in and get the number, but that is strictly a Hollywood thing and that's just not possible. I have security cameras on my house, and the middle of the road ones for quality cannot make out license plates. You have to buy super expensive top of the line cameras for that. The vast majority of homeowners who do get cameras installed cannot afford that level of camera needed to see license plates.

    • @FaerywingArt
      @FaerywingArt 2 роки тому +3

      @@JelenaP991 That would fall under unreasonable search & seizure kinds of laws. So it’s not a thing in the US, at least in a big city. Small towns are a different story, with less vehicles to track down. If the person who actually owned the truck could be found, they’ll have ditched that vehicle already and told the police “it was stolen” the day or week before the crime. So they wouldn’t have proof that way, unless there was something compelling against that. I live in the Houston area myself, and large pickup trucks are a dime a dozen. In a metropolitan area of close to 8 million people. It’s difficult to find someone in this large area.

    When I was younger, 40 years ago I worked at the local Waffle House I was 18 years old and one of my regulars got sick was in the hospital, I sent a get well card and sent it to him thru one of his friends that was going to visit him, all so very innocent. Weeks later a Lady sat in my section, I said good morning would you like some coffee, this lady was ripping into me I mean bad, accusing me of having a affair with her husband, I had no clue who she was or who her husband was , for I knew I was not having a affair with a much older guy, she was in her fifties, I could not say anything to convince her she had it wrong, had we been alone I believe she would have killed me, very scary, the reason I found out after was I signed the card, Love Linda. I was young, you get to know your customers, so very innocent, if someone had not of told me the why i would never had know what set this lady on a quest to me.. I believe this happens and someone could get away with a murder in a situation like this. Just food for thought.

There was nothing weird going on at all- I never even saw him anywhere but at school, but his wife came up to my classroom one day and confronted me. Like I'd want an old married man- yuck! The husband had a "new" girlfriend a couple months later, got married soon after, they wore black at the wedding...killer had a similar build as his new wife (overweight, short woman with a waddle)...Liz was also the main breadwinner and had a 500k life insurance policy. It was NOT Liz's idea to have the garage sale last minute, it was Sergio's (very out of character for her precisely because she was one to advertise and make her sales public. He left 4 minutes before she was shot (he practically pulled out of the driveway then they pull up; about 10 minutes earlier than he normally did for work according to neighbors). The shooter knew where their doorbell camera was and actually told Liz to move to the right before shooting her (in order to move her out of frame and they themselves were extremely careful not to step into frame fully-look at other channels like Arrin ). I 100% believe the husband was involved, and likely the new wife. If they are not involved, fine...but I, and most people in the area believe they are at this point. If they are I hope they get convicted and rot in prison, either way, at the very least I hope karma annihilates them and/or anyone else involved.

    The situation makes me believe that the killer was maybe a stalker of some sort (either hers or the husband’s) who was mentally ill and impulsive and proceeded to kill her out of rage or some kind of delusion. Another theory that comes to mind is that someone from work (or elsewhere, you name it) had a crush on Sergio, knew he was married, figured out where he lived and killed Elizabeth in order to “be with him” (mental illness would also be obvious in this case, as it seems pretty impulsive and non-thought-through). I struggle to see how her husband could be involved and get away with it as he seems to have been one of the main suspects and has obviously been investigating. I definitely think it could have been someone watching her from afar and then they killed her. Such a tragic case that will definitely stay with me.

    Could it be possible that she had a stalker who she knew about but didn't let anyone else know? Could the fact she didn't announce her garage sale on social media be linked somehow to this? She didn't want it to be public knowledge in the social media sense, hence why she only advertised locally via posters, to keep it confined to the neighborhood that she trusted? I'm guessing law enforcement checked all her accounts etc though? It's so disturbing!

    I’ve never understood the whole, “They sold the house immediately after so they must’ve done something!” Hell, my cousin died from a bad reaction to medication. Case closed. Her husband wasn’t even suspected… until he sold their house. Why? His son was having a rough time coping with the idea his stepmother had literally just died, but lived in a different state. They didn’t have enough money to uproot his entire life, change schools, all that jazz. My cousin’s husband didn’t have enough money to pay for the house he lived in AND buy an apartment in another state. Nor did he want to live in the house where his wife died. So he sold the house and moved to take care of his son. That’s when the police wanted to start calling him a bad husband. How? The ME quite literally proved it was an allergic reaction to a new medication. She died in her sleep. It took several paramedics to pry him off her, as he wouldn’t stop trying CPR, despite her having been dead for hours.

    Here is my hypothesis:
    The husband organized it for profit. He probably got the life insurance and the money from selling the house. The police looked at their phone but maybe the husband had a burner phone. Possibly used to stall the killer until he left. The murder happened minutes after he left and the killer passed minutes before the husband left. It’s important to remind ourselves that, because the family members said they had a great relationship doesn’t mean it’s true. You never can tell what really happens behind closed doors. I’ve heard this case before. It’s really puzzling. If Sergio did it he’s a darn good actor because he does seem genuinely devastated. It’s just a feeling but keep thinking it’s someone connected to the Star Wars club. Maybe the spouse of someone also in the group. Maybe they thought they were having an affair? I think they need to take a look at what vehicles those people owned or had access to. Someone knows who’s truck that is. If the cops can tell the make, model and year of the truck and color shouldn’t they be able to cross reference the DMV records? The fact that the husband just left does look suspicious but if the person had been watching the house then yeah they would know he was gone so? I want to know did she normally leave the house before or after Sergio To go to work. If she left after then it may have been a coincidence that she was out side getting the sale ready. Maybe the killer had originally planned to walk up to the door and shoot but got lucky (for lack of a better word) and she happened to be outside? All very confusing. Also I’m wondering about a coworker that may have thought she was messing with her husband if it’s not someone in the club. I hope they solve it. I’m surprised with all the video surveillance they haven’t yet

    Based on information you've described, there is NO way this was random. She absolutely was the target, whether she was killed because of someone that knew her or Sergio, they made sure she was alone and they made sure she was dead before & after they shot her. And they didn't steal anything, so it was not a robbery. It seems like a personal attack, not professional, because a pro assassin would do things as quickly & discreetly as possible. The killer here took so many shots to ensure she was dead, and often overkill is associated with personal attacks.

He would have been able to say exactly when he’s leaving. But also, without him, how would they know they’d even catch her in front of her house by herself? Doesn’t seem like they were going to break in to kill her had she not been out front, as they’d cases the house several times and didn’t enter. He could have given them a rough estimate of the time he leaves, he wasn’t gone yet after the first drive past, but by the second drive past, he was gone and she was outside, as he may have told them she would be.
