Dude's skill and attention to detail are off the chart! Much respect!
I'd have been like: "Duct tape!" Done.
Also, that was the softest camera fall ever. How did that happen????

Hey, I am not from the U.S. so I don't have carpet to repair, but are such repaired carpets actually cleanable by certain machines? like those machine that can suck in water.

Your work is amazing. I just had my second floor replaced with burber. Unfortunately the new carpet for main bedroom was found damaged. The company offered to replace and redo the whole floor. Since i have to disemble and remove furniture again which was a pain, should i just ask them to patch it? Will it be noticed andd how long can it last?

Really depends on the quality of the tech. I’d say give them the option to repair first. If satisfactory, everyone wins. If not, then, request new installation if they will cover it.

Beautiful work! And you saved your customer a couple thousand by not having to replace all that carpet! But your neck and back must be killing you after all that 😵

That carpet is easy to get. They could have just replaced the carpet only in that room and left the pad if the customer had a budget. A few hundred dollars tops and customer could save money taking up the carpet himself. Whole job would of taken just as long as looked a lot better. I like this guy's work but in this case it would of been better to replace the room with the exact same carpet. It is a lie to say that all the carpet would have to be replaced. Shaw will always make that carpet forever.

@@The.Floor.Store.At.Your.Door44 The customer has 2 options. 1.- The customer can move all the furniture out of the room, pull up the existing carpet, haul it out to the curb for disposal, buy new carpet for a few hundred bucks, have it installed, move all furniture back into the room. 2.- Hire a professional carpet specialist to repair the carpet for a couple hundred bucks and be done with it.

But what happens when u vacuum over it. It this a cosmetic fix or a fix that is durable and will.stand through time?

    • @profloors147

That repair will last years and years to come, vacuuming multiple times a week . Some installers that do similair repairs, is a cosmetic fix. This is by the book.

You are a god tier carpet restorer... restorationist? Repairer? I'm not sure which you prefer, but whatever it is, it's god tier. I have been wondering a long time now, is there any way to re-fluff [my technical terms may be less than correct but I hope still accurate-ish] a carpet that has become all squinched down by usage over time? I want to move my furniture, but the carpet under the couch and chairs etc. is all fluffy and new looking. Maybe a super-special re-fluffing vacuum thing?

Aw thanks. Unfortunately, crushing (matted carpet) from use in high trafficked areas is irreversible. 😖😢

I would get rid of 4 rows and seemed the whole length. Even having a cross room (or 2 in this case) is better than piecing it together like you did. Specially that burber, which very easy to seam and even easier to stretch.

    I hate installing that carpet

  • @jonathancowdin3775

You worked tediously and well but yeah, gotta just cut that whole room and seam them back together, gives you the chance to seam seal it all up too, patches like that are high risk to happen again and just don't look quite as good

They did not have any carpet that matched... even if they said screw it and did a different style, it would have cost the homeowner alot more money and time. This was a rental, the quality of work performed was phenomenal 👏 and likely only cost the homeowner 3-4 hundred. They can come in with a simple carpet clean and you will barely see it. Let the new homeowner decide if they want carpet, what style or replace with a hardwood or vinyl. There is zero return on there investment if they replaced it. Now I need to convince my wife we need a repair on our burbur seam that has unraveled in our basement... I even have scraps... that be a hell of a lot cheaper and warmer than the vinyl plank she wants when the carpet looks brand new!

      @jonathancowdin3775 Рік тому

Thats not what I was talking about, there are different ways to repair berber, you can cut that entire row out completely and it is faster and looks better, if you get yours repaired hopefully they don't do it that way, good luck with the wife sir
