ANOTHER CHEVIOT CAMP, THIS TIME BACK UP THE SCHILL FOR A WILD NIGHT OF STORMS AND SUNSHINE AND MAYBE A BEER. GOOD MATES MAKE CAMPS FUN, BUT BE AWARE WE ARE EXPERIENCED AND THIS WAS A WILD NIGHT IN A REMOTE AREA. DONT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF THE WIND. THERE WAS A GROUP BELOW US AND ONE OF THEIR TENTS WAS DESTROYED IN THE MORNING.. MY PRETENTS DID WELL BUT ONLY BECAUSE IT WAS SET UP PROPERLY AND AS A WALKING POLE TENT THERES NOT MUCH CHANCE OF THAT POLE SNAPPING.. JUST FOR BEGINNERS THIS ADVICE..

We were just saying this whole year has been a mare for wind, really spoiling so many nice days. Surely your tent did not stay up all night in that wind...interesting to see! That weather was insane, wind, rain, sun, more rain, what a racket lol. Those cheese topped burgers were brilliant mind, as was set colour in the skies and a real canny morning to wake up too, apart from that bloody wind again, cheers Alan

Always like ur videos, does Thompo have a channel coz he does bit of filming🤷♂️. I always just go out me and dog but be good to go with the lads now and again, u lot have a right laugh 😂.

Nice one Andy, what do you pitch the soloist at? I've found 135 on the top and 125 below on the pole and shove the spike of the pole down flush, I can get a taught pitch, its taken a while like. I really like it but just wish it was just a little bigger. Nowt like watching 4 blokes getting lashed 😂😂😂 great vid. TFS David 👍
Just about every season mate it’s just not letting up!! Even when it’s sunny and dry it’s still fekn windy 😡

Which way did you walk in for this one ?
I wonder what tent we would use if we could only have one ? Think light weight, small pack size ? Good in the wind ! Reasonable price, Is there such a tent ?

We parked at Mounthooley (day permit required) obtainable ftom the college valley estate wesite, we then walked up the valley to the hen hole, then picked up the pennine way and followed that past the rescue hut and then to the Schill, direct route off in the morning
)
I suppose the worst problems with Thunder Cows, are their farts & horns or step on a fresh steaming pile!
