No!! You are so right! In that scene If you listen closely you’ll hear the henchman shush each other as to not scare Karen. Total set up! Love that scene and love that movie!!! Maurie’s wigs don’t come off! EVEN UNDERWATER
You are right on the money with the Goodfellas scene. After the Lufthansa heist Jimmy Burke went on a murder rampage killing everyone that worked the job. He had Paul Vario's blessing because this meant that there was less of a chance anyone would talk to the feds, and more importantly it meant they had to give out less shares, more money for them. Once Henry Hill got picked up on the drug charges they felt he was a threat because even though he did not take part in the airline heist he put all the players in touch with each other, and knew the details. Not only he was under threat of being clipped because of the drug bust, but they knew he could write his own ticket with the feds if he gave them the details of that heist so they had decided he and his wife had to go. That scene was not a planned ambush for Karen though. She had called Jimmy Burke wanting to talk to him to talk about Henry right away. Jimmy figured this was a good opportunity. Grab Karen, and have Henry come to her then they would them together to take out of the scene. Thankfully Karen was smart enough not to get trapped.
It was most definitely a set up. I think Scorsese set it up to have a little bit of ambiguity so you really feel the Paranoia and impending downfall/hopelessness Henry Hill was experiencing at the time. I don’t know, I’m not the guy. But, it works tho.
@@CasualGhostReal I wasn't clear in my original comment, I was talking real events. Jimmy Burke tried grabbing Karen with the hopes of luring Henry to a trap where they both would have been killed. Even before the drug bust Paul Vario and Jimmy Burke had discussed killing Henry. Burke worried Henry might ask for a bigger cut of the Lufthansa heist since all the other players were dead, and they both worried about Henry going to the feds. The last time Henry had been in prison Paul Vario raped Karen, and they also were concerned because Henry was becoming unstable due to his drug abuse.

Exactly! Thank you. On three separate occasions -- three separate cars -- I was sitting at a stop light, stopped for awhile actually, when I was Smashed! Rear Ended by the fools who were looking at their phones. There wasn't even attempts to break on their part = 3 totalled cars. The hits hurled me through the intersection and on one case, into the back of the car in front of me (that was also stopped at the same light). Every single driver that rear-ended me tried to tell the police that I slammed my breaks, trying to cause the accident to get the insurance, and one told the police I put my car in reverse and slammed into them!! Idiots!!

All Uber drivers need the following: 1. Lots of cameras, inside and outside. 2. A thick glass bulletproof partition. 3. Automatic doors, push button open & closing also prevents slamming. 4. A mace canister in back with remote driver control. Fills the cabin in seconds. 5. An dash panic button that contacts 911 with your location. 6. Investing in a dashcam is one of the best things you can do in general. Shit happens and without video evidence backing you up, you could be the one in trouble instead.
I'll tell you this, I have driven Uber and Lyft for hundreds of thousands of miles. One thing I have learned about dealing with people while they are intoxicated; Never argue with someone while they are intoxicated. Only have confrontation if it is a safety issue where you need to. If you ever have to confront someone, make sure the camera is on them and you have footage. You say nothing otherwise and document, document document. Oh yeah, always have a dash cam rolling .
Telling a person how drunk they are never goes well, glad it didn’t go to south for you. Your definitely right about everything you said. Lucky you had it all on dash cam
Uber basically says “that’s what you expect when you sign up with Uber” Uber doesn’t want to be liable for anything a passenger does to you or your car. They just want the profit you make from it

Well Uber's Guidelines do state that if a rider damages your car, they are responsible for the damages and necessary repairs. The Inconvenience Fee can be helpful, but is not guaranteed, and you must provide Uber with a receipt for the damages within 5 days of contacting support and within 8 days of the incident (I can't tell based on the video so I'm not making any assumptions on whether you did this or not). It makes sense that the passenger should be responsible for the damages since she caused them, but it does suck that Uber didn't grant you the fee. Also, I don't work for Uber at all, I just know this because I looked up their community guidelines after watching this video lol
@@sportsentertainmentco9877 I was expecting a serious scratch but I agree with you. It looks relatively minor to me and is probably why Uber declined to cover it. Compound and buffing - would be inconvenient - but would reduce this a lot. The more important thing is that the drunk girl hit the car with her keys - that we heard - and definitely could have been the cause of the damage. Without direct evidence and with any or either party willing to lie about things you just can't resolve matters.
Unfortunately these ride share companies aren't going to be a big help when it comes to damage to your car. It's usually capped at a predetermined amount and may not cover the costs. In your case, those scratches don't look deep and should come out with a scratch remover costing around $10. It's the risk you take when driving for these companies that only care about profits and not their drivers.

Immediate denial pisses me off. I was at a drive in with my girlfriend and a guy pulled up uncomfortably close to my driver’s side and parked. I should have moved…. Anyway, he gets out and comes around to my side and opens the door for his little boy. Now, I hear and feel the door hit my car, but it was light, so I let it slide. But 15 minutes later, when they come back with popcorn and drinks, the kid opens the door himself and WHAM! So I get out and the dad immediately asks what the problem is. I point out the chipped paint where the door got my car, and his immediate response was “that wasn’t us.” So I told him to open the door and see if it lines up. He does and it syncs like a glove. He didn’t even apologize. I asked him to please be more careful, but if I wasn’t with my girlfriend, and he wasn’t with his kid, I would’ve laced into him big time. The amount of people saying "oh it's a small scratch either way" or "that was unnecessary of him" is frightening. No matter how big or small the damage is, that is his car and it got damaged. It is up to court to decide the actual amount of damage. By the law, she damaged what belongs to him, and he has every right to act how he did. Why dude? Making a big deal about tiny scratches on your car. Every car has scratches. Nobody who looks at a car with tiny scratches and thinks less of the car, and typically when you care this much about something it'll keep happening. That's life trials.
Moral of the story: don’t be an Uber driver. Almost none of these apps care about you as an individual on any level, doordash, Lyft, whatever it is, you’re never gonna get help from them. That’s why people can tip you $2 or less and they’ll literally always charge a “delivery fee” it’s all trash
If she died its vehicular manslaughter if not she could press charges if he hit her or get insurance or wtv but the guy that commented said that cause she said the scratch was already there
The lesson I take from this is to not support companies that put all the economic and liable burden on the car owner and when a minimal support is needed , if no camera present Uber might have paid for legal services to the customer. I stopped using Uber years ago because of that .
@@ChristopherGray00 Actually we didn't sign anything really, thus it's not a "job". We're independent contractors, we can kick you out for any reason we want. Dashcams are lifesavers, especially if you drive a vehicle for a living and extra especially if you transport people. Nowadays people have absolutely no qualms about screwing you over by lying, to get out of taking responsibility, or even just because you stand up for yourself if they have an unreasonable/illegal request. Gotta record, always. I almost can't believe I got through ten years of driving a taxi long before dashcams existed without ever needing one. I guess it was just different times back then, most people had some sense of honor and decency. Not all of them had decency back then either though. A colleague at my taxi company was once accused of attempted rape and the only thing that cleared his name in the end was a good cop who picked the lady's ever-changing story apart until she confessed that she lied to get out of paying the fare. It was less than 10 dollars, but she was ready to lie and send an innocent man to prison rather than paying it.
Not blaming the driver but I'd definitely wouldnt be telling her I have a dashcam is just file my claim & show the proof if she wouldve tried to lie then I'd show the cops the footage.
This is why I don’t UBER anymore. A few years back before every Uber had cameras in them I had a group of young ladies I picked up. Being drunk they began acting very inappropriate, touching me as I was driving, hitting my arms, etc. All of that was nothing until one of the girls piped up and said “what keeps girls from saying you didn’t assault them.. LOL. Like what if I told them you touched my breasts, they’d probably fire you right..?” I sat there for a second and told them “Well that wouldn’t go very well seeing as I have two cameras(one right behind her fat ass head and one under my mirror)..” She said she was joking blah blah blah but that moment right there is where I said yeah I’m not doing this anymore because all it would take is one false accusation and you’re done. Life ruined. Over maybe a $5 tip…
I did the Uber thing once. My brother and I wanted to see how much money we could make on New Years Eve (fyi, $435 for me). Most riders are perfectly pleasant, but three stand out. The first bad rider was a very large woman who was unfriendly as all heck and complained my seat didn’t go back any further. Pretty sure she gave me a 1-star review because my rating took a noticeable hit. The second was this obviously rich dink. He wasted a ridiculous amount of my time off the clock while rates were sky high (right after midnight), telling me the secrets to success as he sees it while I waited for him to get out of my car. He also kept me waiting 15 minutes at the pickup to begin with. The third was real late, my last fare, at 3:45am. Bunch of teenage boys being complete idiots. Legit felt uncomfortable like they were on the verge of starting crap with me. Couldn’t wait to get rid of them.
aside from the holidays like NYE that you mention, I prefer UberEats/DD. Avoid human contact in business = win. More money, less hassle. Half the time my passengers assume part of my job is to listen to their bs, I just wanna drive u and leave bro
You probably know this, but I don’t think you’re legally obligated to drive minors without an adult present. Some rideshare services outright forbid minors for using the app without someone older to accompany them.
Burden of proof is on the accuser not on the accused..... Especially women who lie all the time, shouldn't be believed at all unless they have solid proofs.......... secondly, In men vs women matters, women are always in the wrong and it is literally a fact.....
Uber has a whole separate team of people that handle claims adjustment. Their sole job, the only reason they are paid, is so that Uber does not pay money out to drivers. Uber collects money, that is revenue. If they have to pay it back out to drivers, that would be a cost. You are taking on all of the risk, all of the liability.
With a tiny scratch that can easily be fixed by yourself and the situation gets escalated. Not sure if thats a great idea with drunk people who might have a gun.

Am I the only one who was always unsure about that goodfellas scene? was it a set up or not?
Setup..you can see Bobby D looking down the road and his agitation when she didn’t bite...

Well Uber's Guidelines do state that if a rider damages your car, they are responsible for the damages and necessary repairs.
That kind of immediate denial of responsibility is pathetic in an adult.
Horrible example to set for his kid too. Kid just learned that grown men don't take responsibility for their actions (or the actions of their kids).

so sue the passenger then. Sue them, for a subpoena for her info etc.
Thats when you go to the main uber office smash their windows and say,, oh , it only wear an tear.
This is a no-win situation that you handled very well sir.
You did the right thing by standing your ground and stating the facts and keeping it from escalating.
I also agree with everything you said in your commentary on how this thing could spin out of control real quick and you could end up being painted as the bad guy.... perhaps your video or audio was not picking up Etc.
Regarding Uber hopefully this PR will get to their negative PR group and they will cut their heads in and cut you a check.
I don't know what you are going to do for the Long Haul in life but whatever career or profession you choose to endeavor I am sure you are going to do very very well.
In Navy terms you get a Bravo Zulu.

The Uber driver who screamed at an evil lady: I wish I had a dash cam to prove her wrong.
She's like yeah let my dumbass get out and walk down the alley instead of being drove by the uber driver. Anger can really make people do very ignorant things.

@Sunshine the fuck you talking about? He said, and I quote "I missed the turn." She then immediately decided to get out. He never expressed a desire to not go down the alleyway to her.

youtube ad rev for this vid did more than cover those scratches
yes and he's not going to have it fixed. It's a thin scratch. The most he will do is use a paint fill in or concealer. I'll bet it's still there.
Dash cam didn't do shit but make content for ad rev.
Bitch.

Bro,...are you serious......wow,, reminds me of Patrice o neal, who said" I don't trust being alone with white women when theres no witnesses ,
Not blaming the driver but I'd definitely wouldnt be telling her I have a dashcam is just file my claim & show the proof if she wouldve tried to lie then I'd show the cops the footage.
Telling someone a dashcam is active avoids further trouble..
Over maybe a $5 tip…
oh l;awd
American girls are not good people.
Don't trip them
The way he smiles with a thumbs up for a selfie with his brand new AND FRESH car scratch cracks me up so much
I did the Uber thing once.

Not sure if thats a great idea with drunk people who might have a gun.
it's literally a minor scratch but the fact she wouldn't leave was weird
It almost seemed like she was trying to flirt and see where it goes. Very subtlety.
What?? He's the one who kept engaging her 🙄🙄 He just kept on and on. She may have been drunk but she was cool & seems he just wanted to take advantage of that. 🤷🏻♀
@@Clarissa_320 I could see that too. Either way it was a little awkward.
She wouldn’t leave? The whole exchange was a few minutes long, this guy making a dramatic petty ass video about it with his voice over analyzing every second of her words is what’s weird, it gives me incel energy
