This release plate seems much more simple to release the camera off of as opposed to your current plate, which I also have. Solid video man!
Hi Peter, I already own the F38 quick releases and use them with my Weebill S and when putting my A7III on my tripod, as per your recommendation. I am now planning to flush out my handheld rig by adding the Smallrig cage to my A7III, a basic 15mm rail system, top and side handles, and then the new Smallrig mini matte box. My question is do you think the F38 plates mounted to the bottom of my rail system would be able to take the weight reliably when say placed on a tripod? Ulanzi quote them as being able to handle up to 15KG of weight, much more than my rig would come to, but I wonder if you think this holds true?
Thank you for the video, I have been taking photos for years. Now I'm planning to take videos. I like to know what is economic video monopod which works with Ulanzi Falcam f38 quick release plate ?
Thanks for the video - I bought two of the Falcam quick release plate systems to quickly go between my Weebill S and my tripod with my Canon 5D Mk IV paired with a EF 24-70mm f2.8. Unfortunately, I am having trouble balancing the Weebill with the quick release system in place. The same camera/lens setup balances fine with the Zhiyun quick release system, but I would really like to use this quick release system! Any advice? Thanks!
This is the EXACT problem I am having. The Falcam raises the height of the camera to the point where it cannot be balanced in the face up position. Really frustrating because I get perfect balance when I attach the camera straight to the OEM plate.
Depending on what camera you have then it might. It did not work with my Lumix s5. it fits on perfectly, but the camera will hit the roll motor in some positions.
I use Ulanzi Claw Quick Release system for my rs2 and tripod. I have put the quick releases on the gimbal handle and undersling attachment. So I can quickly go to undersling mode.

so i can use this quick release on the base of the weebil S and on the back handle instead of buying the transmount quick set up from Zhiyun? am i correct? and to be clear i will need to buy 3 ulanzi falcam release, one for camera and the other 2 as described above, correct?
@Peter Makholm, saw these review and blown away by the system as I'm using Peak Design plates for a long time. Have you tried the capture v3 plates on this mounts and vice versa (if F38 plates work on Peak Design capture clips)? Will it work?
Great video. Honest review. Question: My 5DM4 needs the riser plate that came with the Ronin S. That riser is screwed onto the bottom of my camera. That combination is then atrached onto the camera mounting plate. Id love to use a quick release so I dont have to keep rebalancing my camera. But I dont think the riser plate allows for the quick mount. Suggestions? Tips? Thanks again.
Quick release system is a mess to choose oO I started with the Manfrotto RC2 on my Weebill-s and tripod. It was good for a time but when I started using Peak Design capture clips I had to get the dual PD/Manfrotto plates, which bring some limitations (only 2 sides usable on each system) Then this summer I switched to PGYTECH quick release, which is very nice, and include the compatibility of my Osmo Action too, but I still love to use the Lens Holder by Peak Design and this fits only into the capture clip... So I have now on my backpack a Peak Design capture clip on the removable belt (Lowepro 450 AW II) AND the Bettle from PGYTECH, which means my technical belt cannot hold my camera and my backpack strap cannot hold my lenses... A little clunky :/ Now I'm considering the Falcam system which has many advantages, integrating their F38 plate in a very slick cage (and a secondary one in portrait too oO), having the modularity of the f22 mount for lights or monitor etc, but, I would still have to keep the capture clip for the lens holder 🤔 I'm a solo nomadic (backpacker) filmmaker, one man crew and I feel all those brands have cool ideas but none is ticking all boxes for me :/ And switches are getting expensive in the end! I just need efficiency and modularity to cover all my needs... I would try everything to never have to screw anything again xD
Hi Peter, i have the Peak design camera clip that i attach to my backpack you know? This comes with a plate, but that won't fit my tripod (gorillapod) i need a quick release system to attach to my tripod that will work with the peak design camera clip still attach to my camera, can i just buy the Falcam F38 Quick Release System and attach it to my gorillapod, will that work ?

Thanks for this, it was perfect. I commented on your other video asking which you responded on but I swapped that account to a brand account which messed up my prior comments. I'm going to order and if I like as much as I think will get another.
I bought a few but they were not fully arca swiss compatible with my other arca swiss gear. the mount would slip out of arca plates and so on. I think the product itself is great quality wise but I was disappointed when I tried to match it with my other gear. now I only use the plate and clamp together and do not mix them with other gear..
Hi Peter, I have a question. When you take the camera off and back on a gimbal, multiple times, using the quuck release plate, do you find yourself having to rebalance the gimbal? A neweer quick release plate that looks much like yours requires me to balance it again. This happens because the qr plate pans left and right a bit. It never holds on very tight. Please let me know how this one behaves.

Having a quick release is absolutely revolutionary when switching between the gimbal and tripod, but the price point for this one is a bit out of my price range, I ordered one for 11 dollars on Aliexpress just last week
i did too, but only received the base plate. So you need to order the more expensive pack. For whatever reason they have it listed as a color... White for the plate, black for the bracket, and grey for the kit... i'm now going to have to go down the more expensive route and order the plate on a new order, as i only received the base. Aliexpress is very confusing to say the least.
There is nothing good about the Falcam F38, I've tried both the Peak Design Capture and the F38, believe me the F38 is an absolute nightmare. 8/10 times you place the camera into the clip it gets jammed and requires 2 hands and force to remove it and realign for another attempt, there is nothing "quick" about the F38 quick release clip. Even taking the back out of the clip is horrible. The release button is in a really difficult position. Also 5/10 times you try to release the camera from the clip it gets stuck. DO NOT BUY THE F38, you'll regret everything about it.

how do you change the button release place from it? On site i see the button release is in the same line to the plate, but yours are in horizotal. How ?
Just received the quick release and the UURig gimmal grip. I am waiting for my RSc2 to arrive so i can test them out. So far though the quick release seems to have a great build quality and like you said no wiggle. I currently use the manfrotto similiar to the one in your video and i really like it but it is big and heavy compared to the Falcam release. btw great packaging as well. thanks for the info and i did use your affiliate link in support of a great channel.
i bought this but the DJI plate makes the camera go really high and it cant be properly stabilized.... how you stabilize it? are you using something different? on this video its not easy to see how you mount the camera with falcam from ulanzi and Dji plate....
Thanks for the review. I'm curious how this compares to Ulanzi Claw system? The claw also suppose to work with gimbal and tripod as well ?
I'm a little confused as to how this would go on a Gimbal. Do you put the manfrotto plate then the adapter for the ulanzi on top?
What is the payload of this quick release? I cant find this info anywhere, i am hesitant to put a heavy lens with a bmpcc on a gimbal with this specially when they dont disclose the payload max...
so i can use this quick release on the base of the weebil S and on the back handle instead of buying the transmount quick set up from Zhiyun? am i correct? and to be clear i will need to buy 3 ulanzi falcam release, one for camera and the other 2 as described above, correct?
At 7:37 , what lens filter is that ?
@Peter Makholm, saw these review and blown away by the system as I'm using Peak Design plates for a long time. Have you tried the capture v3 plates on this mounts and vice versa (if F38 plates work on Peak Design capture clips)? Will it work?
Hi. No the peakdesign capture clips do bot work on the ulanzi plate.
Can I use my L-braket on that quickrease without use they plate?
Great video. Honest review. Question: My 5DM4 needs the riser plate that came with the Ronin S. That riser is screwed onto the bottom of my camera. That combination is then atrached onto the camera mounting plate. Id love to use a quick release so I dont have to keep rebalancing my camera. But I dont think the riser plate allows for the quick mount. Suggestions? Tips? Thanks again.
Impossible to get perfect balance when using the F38 baseplate with the Z Weebill 3E gimbal
Does this lock tight enough to hold the maximum weebill s load weight stable? You know that camera can't move at all!...
Do you still use it? I ordered the system from PGYTECH lately and it's a bit wiggly. I was wondering if this one is better
I just ordered. 8-)
Quick release system is a mess to choose oO
I started with the Manfrotto RC2 on my Weebill-s and tripod.
It was good for a time but when I started using Peak Design capture clips I had to get the dual PD/Manfrotto plates, which bring some limitations (only 2 sides usable on each system)
Then this summer I switched to PGYTECH quick release, which is very nice, and include the compatibility of my Osmo Action too, but I still love to use the Lens Holder by Peak Design and this fits only into the capture clip... So I have now on my backpack a Peak Design capture clip on the removable belt (Lowepro 450 AW II) AND the Bettle from PGYTECH, which means my technical belt cannot hold my camera and my backpack strap cannot hold my lenses...
A little clunky :/
Now I'm considering the Falcam system which has many advantages, integrating their F38 plate in a very slick cage (and a secondary one in portrait too oO), having the modularity of the f22 mount for lights or monitor etc, but, I would still have to keep the capture clip for the lens holder 🤔
I'm a solo nomadic (backpacker) filmmaker, one man crew and I feel all those brands have cool ideas but none is ticking all boxes for me :/
And switches are getting expensive in the end!
Hi Peter
Was hoping you can help me
I have the following equipment.
2 x Sony A7R4
1 x Sony A7SIII
1 x Zhiyun Weebil S and the Manfrotto Quick release plate
1 x DJI Ronin RSC2
I wanted to easily swop the A7SIII on both the Ronin RSC2 and Weebil with minimul fuss and not sure what Ulanzi items I need to acheive this from the following
Falcam F38 Quick Release System
F38 Quick Release System for DJI & Zhiyun Stablizer
I'm also thinking of these for my A7R4's
2x Falcam F38 Quick Release Backpack Strap Clip
2 x Falcam F38 Quick Release Camera Strap Clip
Also how does the following fit into the above
Ulanzi Claw Quick Release Set (Generation II)
I tried reaching out to Ulanzi but receicved unclear information back.
Thank you
Thanks for this, it was perfect.
Do you know if their F22 is also NATO standard?
Hi Peter, I have a question. When you take the camera off and back on a gimbal, multiple times, using the quuck release plate, do you find yourself having to rebalance the gimbal? A neweer quick release plate that looks much like yours requires me to balance it again. This happens because the qr plate pans left and right a bit. It never holds on very tight. Please let me know how this one behaves.
there's an update. ulanzi has released a new baseplate especially designed to fit peak design's capture clip v3 and now there is also a F38 gimbal baseplate for Weebill S
Yes. The plate juste arrived in the mail. Video will soon be out.
@@PeterMakholm looking forward for that, because I will order too if everything works perfectIy. I heard a rumour that the plate fits in the PD capture clip but cannot be secured like the original. please check if that's true. that would be be bad news.
Hi i ordered 3 of these. I'm struggling to find a way to get it to work with my DJI Ronin RS2. I can't get the mount adapter to fit on the RS2. I'm looking for a way to be able to switch between my GH06 tripod and my RS2. I can get it to work with my Ikan E-Image GH06, but it doesn't fit on my RS2. Idea's appreciated. **EDIT ** Actually looking closer at your video you seem to have a smallrig base plate on the RSC2.. Is that needed ?
great i use Manfrotto good sistem but so bigger
Does it work with the capture clip?
yes,it works
@@ulanzi.william alright, I’m on my way to buy it lol! I have a UA-cam channel as well in case you would like to send me a couple ! :)
@@ulanzi.william what is the size of the ulanzi claw and this model?
@ Both are popular ,I suggest you the Falcam
I can't get this to fit on my rs2
On what baseplate are you mounting it on.
Unfortunately not compatible with arca swiss. It's soooo close, wish they just would have made it fit!
ok i want!!!
done!
If the lens is heavy than camera.. like sony a6400 with tamron f2.8 17-70mm
Just use the lens support
@@PeterMakholm oh it does have the hole for the lens support?
@@soupricemf1260 yes. Everything the original plate has.
@@PeterMakholm i see.. thanks for the info👍🏻
I bought one, and it is not Arca Swiss compatible with my Really Right Stuff clamps...it's a shame...it's a beautifully made piece, but it is not Arca Swiss compatible, unfortunately
But Is compatible with zhiyun weebill S???
@@Jaibytes yes, I’m using it with no problems. It is awesone
What if they stop making them as well.
That is the chance I am willing to take.
The quick release of the RS 2 is ridiculous. It is not possible to connect a plate like the Plate 501PL manfrotto. Only of DJI set.
Looks good, but overpriced to me, I can buy 3 aftermarket 323s with the price of one of this.
This is supported with RS3 mini?
Can I use my L-braket on that quickrease without use they plate?
