The button is facing that way so you don't accidental hit it facing the other way. Besides, the locking mechanism on the clip doesn't "lock" the base to the plate or change the way its secured, it locks the button from accidental presses. So in theory the placement of the button is very well thought out. Other than that, very informative and detailed video. Thanks for the education
I have been researching this system and got some parts on order. But with all my research I saw that you can unscrew the plate off the gimble plate with some screws. and beings it is square you could unscrew it and turn it around to change the location of the pin.
@@DesmondCheng after watching your video I bought it! And I appreciate it a lot. I am excited to make my channel better.. starting from these small things. Thank you a lot. I am happy to have subscribed to your channel 🙏🙏🙏
Great review! I like the demo with the tripod legs. Do you think this is suitable using a gimbal extension pole in case I want to put on at the bottom of my gimbal?
Is it possible to buy the base plate separately. Looking at the Ulanzi site and Amazon I can't see an option to do this - I only need 1 top plate and 3 base plates
hey... how are you? I have this system and the only problem I have is with the one in the DJI tripod... idk why but I need tide the screw every time... do you have a solution for this? thanks
@@JoshKaufmanstuff Sooooo you can, however then the camera would have to get slotted in from the right side as opposed to the left side. The problem about that is, the gimbal arm is in the way! So in order to make it actually funcitonal, it has to be that one side!
Hi Desy! I noticed that you have a Canon R5, and was wondering if you at any point encountered issues with the quick release plate slipping? I've had the quick release system for a few months now on my R6. There was no issues at first, but in the past month, there is nothing that I can do to secure the darn thing! All the threads look good (no wear), and I wondering if the screw is just not long enough to secure the plate over time.
It's disappointing that you can't use this, or any other brand directly with an L bracket because you can only clip it on with the camera lens pointing sideways, not vertically. No good for longer lenses. If I'm mistaken, please correct me, thanks!
that is correct, if you had an L bracket on your camera, you will not be able to use this. Unless you screw in the quick release plate to the bottom of the L bracket
hi, I noticed they have a generation II (different model) , have you had a chance to try it? It seems to me the first one is smaller and probably I would prefer the original model.
I wish you had showed real world scenario like how the camera behave when attached to the neck strap since it’s attached from the bottom of the camera. Same with the backpack
The base plate sucks... It keeps getting loose no matter how tight you screw it. You can't even turn your camera to the sides on a ball head that the plate will twist beneath the camera.

You can unscrew the mounting base and rotate it.
Your video was really interesting. I am using the Peak Design thing.. let me say that the Tripod/Gimbal is interesting for sure.
thanks! yeah its been about 2 months now since posting this video and I'm still using this system today!

What strap with the shoulder strap do you recommend?
Thanks for making this video. Whats the difference between the f38 quick release and the claw quick release that are both made by falcam?

which one is better falcam or quick claw ?
Can the DJI mount be rotated so the release faces the back?
unfortunately not
@@DesmondCheng @5:35 are you saying that you can't unscrew those hex bolts and flip the plate around??

@@DesmondCheng To fix this, can you just screw the universal base to the stock gimble's plate?
@@thomza you could do that, but then you always have to slightly fine tune that balance!
the only thing holding me back from buying is that the botton is in front if they were to fix that i would definitely purchase the system
Thanks for the review, it's very helpful! Could you compare this to PGYtech's snaplock QR system? Wondering which one is better. Thanks!
no prob! unfortunatley i dont have the pgytech's snaplock, but if i do get it in my hands ill do it!

Can we say it is the professional version of the Ulanzi Claw system? How would you compare and contrast these 2 systems?
unfortunately i have never used the claw system so can't say!
Does this work with feiyutech scorp C ? PLEASE someone help me i need 1
im not too sure, but if the baseplate of the feiyutech is the same size as a standard manfrotto video plate, then yes it should work!
Is this compatible with peak design plate?
No unfortunately it is not

Hi, i just looked at the Ulanzi website and it looks like it's the same version that I have! The f38 system
Does the plate work on a ronin sc
yes it does!
Still happy with it?

sorry ill try to do that in a future video!
👍👍👍
well for dji ronin sc nothing... bad...

This does not come in a kit, Sir.
sorry i dont understand your question! You have to buy each of these pieces individually
