    I eliminated grains ( that was mentally hard ) upped my meat by alot and arthritis pain is gone ! Pain comes back with grains . ....... I miss buttered toast 😭 But pain free is worth it !!!!!

    I am curious if weight lifters (into old age) have a longer life. There is some evidence that low calorie extends life, which would contradict this information a bit.

    What about teenage girls (16 and 18) who store body fat easily. Would increasing lean protein (children breast, tuna, salmon) help them shed body fat? I'm assuming calorie restriction is necessary, but there is always a danger of going too low in calories and causing even more sluggishness or difficulty burning calories.

    My husband has worked construction for 30 years. He is very densely muscled and strong. Alcohol consumption caused him to become fat (abdominally). When he stopped drinking, fat quickly disappeared. That seems like an obesity problem rather than muscle problem.

      That would be another way of proving what she’s saying is right. Your husband was protected by the dense muscle. If he was a skinny fat he would have had one or more of the metabolic syndrome very quickly. So the more dense muscle the more protection. Older people start losing muscle and then they losing that protection. One pound of muscle can burn 6 calories per hour while one pound of fat burns 2 calories per hour. So obesity is a muscle problem when it becomes resistant due to lack of activity or lack of use. Muscles need to be emptied through movement or fasting and filled after that. It’s a fuel tank too.

    What is the purpose of adding hormones during menopause? If the body naturally reduces hormones with age, why do we want to add them artificially? I thought taking hormones was linked to breast cancer in women.

    I have noticed that certain ethnicities seem to get fat easily. Native Americans, Mexicans. Is it excessive sugar, grains? Is It that they have had a very short amount of time to adapt to the modern diet? Is it that they, being a nomadic culture, always experienced periods of almost starvation? And now their bodies want to store extra calories in order to prepare for starvation time. But in today's world starvation never comes.

    I would like a simple way to increase protein while reducing calories. I wonder if I could add chopped chicken breasts to lunch and dinner and decrease some fat or carb at those meals. I would love to simplify nutrition and fat loss.
