Wow, are there any exploits in this game at all? It seems like this entire run is just using the physics engine as intended. If so, that's remarkable game design.
+frankjohnson123 The absolute only exploit of any kind I can think of as far as Monkey Ball is that it will only check for collision on certain frames so, on one level in SMB2, the goal rotates so fast, if you get it on the perfect frame, you can clip through the goal post. But it's only very very VERY slightly faster than the normal strat. So, in short, they're really no way to exploit it as far as glitches and stuff.

Yes! I have waited so long for this TAS. Thanks so much to byrz, nindiddeh, keylie and Barhunga for making this! It's incredible what you've done with this game.
Congratulations on completing expert/expert extra/and master and what's even more crazy about this video is you completed every level without any deaths/fallouts I could never finish expert through master without any fallouts great vid and probably one of the best speedruns I've seen in super monkey ball
13 minutes only? What kind of pro are you? Nah but in all seriousness, level 7 is waaaay too hard for no reason compared to pretty much everything else in expert
***** True, a TAS takes months to make and requires thorough testing and knowledge about the game's coding, but I'd say a TAS still is easier than an RTA.
Well, now I know what the rest of the master levels look like... I never seen't that Dodecahedron level, nor the ones after it. I must've quit half way through masters.
In my opinion, tases are way better than runs by humans, simply because bots can pull of way more mad tricks and glitches than humans can and that is just plain epic if you ask me.
I don't see why person waited for the goal in Extra 3. It's not hard to run nearly straight into the goal, and I've done it faster this way without TAS.
Have you tried using OBS? It's free and it's what I use to record emulator. If you can't get that to work, you can always just play the replay, pause emulation as the monkey hits the goal and take a screenshot. That might be enough to show that it's possible.
Sorry guys, I went back to try this again I could only run straight into the goal for beginner and advanced extra. The Expert one was just a bit too fast. I guess I confused them. I hope a TAS-runner can go back to check if it's possible to do the same for expert, but at least for me, I couldn't.
Justin Koenig Exactly. You still need to plan things out and know what to press when, you just get to go frame by frame rather than reacting to things in real time.

I love it that this game is ages 3+ when the master stages can make a fully grown man cry.
Clearly this is a training simulator for TASers from a young age.
This is Parker, and welcome to JackAss!!
Today, we are gonna show the world how to violate all levels in Super Monkey Ball.
I always liked how you could see the next stage as you go up after finishing

Always wondered if this game was designed to be beaten.

you can tell it's a TAS because no human could stand to play with GonGon
Haha!!!
Especially when he's the slowest and heaviest in the game
AaronBoi 15 False. In terms of gameplay, none of the monkeys are any different from each other.
I can stand to play with GonGon...
Lmfaoooo i played with gon gon but I was like 9 so
Holy crap dude, this is incredible.
Yes! I have waited so long for this TAS. Thanks so much to byrz, nindiddeh, keylie and Barhunga for making this! It's incredible what you've done with this game.
TAS GonGon is a beast! Holding forward and bouncing is one thing...
but this is brilliant!
Long live the Gamecube, best console launch of all time!
Cringe comment detected
Ending: Monkeys being a dick to Gongon.
there is a severe lack of baby in this video
What..... What the hell did you do on level 50....
This is bananas.

I was waiting for a TAS since sooooo long. Nice guys ^^
Wow, so much Dole product placement.
i will always come back to this video. This is my childhood
Wow, I could feel my childhood fleeting away while watching that video.
wow you CRUSHED expert 7! WTF!!!!
This is the craziest TAS I've ever seen if only for the reason that a lot of this seemed feasible without a tool.
13:08 you can see Gongon hidden behind the brick tower in the up left corner you'll see the green ball
I only ever played the GBA version of this game. Beating expert and master modes for the first time were some very mystical moments.
Yet the gba version is the hardest in the entire series.
SuperVideoMaster
Evidently. There's no way I can pull off shit like this on the GBA version
This is the video game version of tilting the pinball machine
1:55 holy crud he finished so fast the 2D "ball" that overlays the monkey is turned wrong so it looks like an oval.
it also happened at extra 9
Wait, that's a Sprite!?
Um, it's a 3D model you know...
When a monkey in a hamster ball can go from 0-60 faster than most sports cars
Storm still is the best song.
loved the sega dreamcast music they used in games!
Those strats were so smart! I really loved this :D
Bruh, it takes me 13 minutes just to do Expert 7.
13 minutes only? What kind of pro are you? Nah but in all seriousness, level 7 is waaaay too hard for no reason compared to pretty much everything else in expert
@@freeze_electric it takes me 3 hours to beat advanced stages
Permanent Jaw Drop throughout the entire video. My reaction to each and every stunt was "He/She's not gonna!?! NO F**KIN' WAY!" Props to you.
All the stunts in this video were easy for him to do, because this is a TAS. He was able to use save states, slow the game down and use frame advance.
Don't care, still awesome. (Thanks for the info on what TAS means though.)

Woooooow. Even with TAS, I find this impressive. I would know, since I've only cleared Expert 7 twice lmao
Same
I really cannot imagine how long it takes to make a TAS. The ones that are more than an hour must take an insanely long time to do.
Malleo did Paper Mario: TTYD, and did around 3 different times, each video around 4 and a half hours
Oh, it's a TAS. Pretty awesome though. I've never seen such smooth curve hugging.
Through out lvl 6 i was really impressed
Expert floor 50 was incredible and insane. I have no imagination that the stunt you pulled there is possible in reality. o.O
Never seen a runner this good
It's a tas bot
Dane Sliwa no it's not.
Incredible work team! :3
My mind is currently in the stratosphere, good job!

8:48
*throws computer*
in master 4, you reach 300 mph for a second!
okay, lemme explain: he's not actually playing. he goes frame-by-frame and enters control inputs to show what a perfect human could do.
Poor Gongon. Gets locked out even when you play as him lol
For some reason I'm an Aiai main
Omg expert 7 done in 51 secs!!!!!!!!=-O
Also ur ball turned flat on expert 11
same with extra expert 9
You mean 9 seconds? Cause I can beat 51 seconds.
How the hell are you supposed to actually beat those Master stages? Those are totally nuts.
practice my friend
8:40 Floor 50 O_o !!!
Yeah, I think it was only then when I realized who was our true savior in times of hardship.
How do you like that? Even when you finish Master with Gon Gon, he *STILL* gets left out of the final cutscene.
a lot better than geoff

master 4 strat was amazing!
"Take the intended path to the goal? Ain't nomonkey got time for dat!"
thank god this is a TAS and not vanilla. if it was normal this guy would be inhuman.
***** how am I ignorant .-.
this is so good
Now this is skill.
Beat expert in 8:49
redx stormx Who? ...
GonGon confirmed new Tony Hawk Kappa
Incredible.
this changes everything
8:46
What even.
Are cutscenes etc. negated from time completed?
No, it is from how many tries it took
This video exemplifies how fucking impossible Expert Mode is. Personally I could never make it past Stage 7.
The thing is until you can beat it consistently expert 7 is the hardest expert stage
Now can you upload again but this time let a real human being play?
3:46 Is that said Sega?
Emergency Power yes
How do I TAS?
So, what do you think? Was the Super Monkey Ball 2 team stationed on the 22nd floor of the Sega building?
+Green Phosphorus This is SMB1 tho
Yeesh, how long does all this take to make?
anyone know of a 100% TAS?
ah yes, only gamers pick gongon
so awesome

That makes no sense. The ones in Advanced Extra and Expert Extra are exactly the same.
amazing.
That was awesome, like how do you do that? Did U learn to do it, or whatever? But either way that was so cool.
Is a TAS
Alvaro Garcia oh, ok
Any human can't have that skill
+117499005165733091243 Doing that skill without TAS is like near impossible.

you control the game frame by frame and choose what keys to press at what frame by a program.

you can't be serious.
TAS is a computer playing the game
No a tas is a tool assisted speed run. That means he is using slowdowns and rewinds while saving his input then playing the input and recording it
