- Incredibly happy with this time, considering I had a few attempts aiming for a 15 minute time. I doubt this will be beaten for a long, long time with current skips involved.
Run retimed shortly afterwards to accommodate for plunging the ball and finishing as soon as the final rank is achieved.

Q: Why tilt?
A: To rank up faster. Full Tilt awards replays after every mission compared to 3D Pinball to circumvent around a progression bug. Tilting allows me to keep the blue lights in the middle intact for the next rank, despite losing a ball. Risk vs. reward.

I never knew there were missions. My goal as a kid was to just keep going and make a bunch of stuff light up
I remember when I discovered missions from my friends and it helped my score but I still sucked balls.

I was vaguely conscious of the missions. Often too busy growing skill/endurance to observe them.
The Windows XP version did not have missions, it was a demo. He's actually playing the full game.

You propably played Windows XP version, which is more poor - no multiball, other way to replay ball, some details and most important - no another tables.

@@DanielGreis1 Just played "new" pinball - saw some changes with physics (for example black hole not sends ball into right out lane, hyperspace not bounces into launching if you not move. Points are much easier to get, and propably whole game is much easier (this explains why FullTilt is for speed run, no points)

When i used to play this game,i had this glitch where the ball was stuck on the top bumper and it kept hitting the bumper, racked a super high score.

Something like 18 years ago I scored 10 million points in space cadet pinball and I couldn't find anyone online at the time who claimed to have a higher score. I knew it was too good to be true.

Pinball Deluxe is great. I have it on Steam; it's surprisingly good for what it is.
I never got this far on missions I think the most I completed was like 6. This pinball game had a lot to offer as an included game for Windows LOL.

Man that tilt out trick is a bit sneaky.
Truth be told, it's an issue on 3D Pinball as well, especially if you drain right after ranking up. The Replay Ball was added as a reward after completing a mission, but they never accounted for tilting or starting another mission immediately after. The latter is near impossible to pull off with 1 ball in play, but multiball is another story.

How do you manage to avoid having the ball go smack in the middle between the flippers where you can't hit it?

What does tilt do?
Literally tilting the whole board (or rather it simulates the act of tilting a physical pinball machine)
What's with that tilt that shuts all lights off
On a real pinball, tilting is supposed to discourage players from nudging the machine to hard, thus ending ball in play (or in some cases; the entire game as a whole).

Is it possible to get the game on windows 7 x64? Either full tilt or demo version?
I try it and it almost works, but when i go to full screen mode (F4) colors are messed up drastically. Without full screen it is just to small to be playable.
(assuming you are using the original game files)
Properties > Compatibility settings > Run in 640x480 mode
If it doesn't work, run it in reduced colour mode.
Press the Windows Key and Plus sign for the magnifying glass. You can just zoom in on the game that way. Stupid, but it works great :D

The dot in the middle doesn't light up? 😫.
Gravity Well is such a bad idea. It messes up the ball trajectory especially when aiming for shots, and it's wildly unpredictable when the gravity is normalized. It can even throw the ball straight down an outlane.
In other words, it can end your ball and there's nothing you can do about it.

Much like games that have a Point A -> B objective (Mega Man, for example, beat the game), there are objectives in different pinball games that can be marked as categories.
Fleet Admiral Rank, here, involves lighting all the yellow lamps in the central circle.
Maelstrom involves reaching and clearing that mode. That can also double as a Fleet Admiral run, since 8 of the 9 yellow lights, plus all three left target lights, are needed to access it, and the reward is an instant rank up.

Why did he tilt out?
There's an exploitable bug, apparently, that once you complete a mission that fills the blue circle, if you start a new mission or tilt out before the blues stop flashing, you keep your full mission progress, thus skipping two missions basically.

This is a Windows 95 game, so no. I'm hoping Full Tilt gets a remake one day, though!
