China’s Tofu-Dreg EVs Dark Secrets: New BYD Exploded in Less Than a Week | Non-deploying Airbags

- Earlier this year, a tragic incident involving a BYD Han made headlines. The vehicle caught fire after a highway collision, resulting in the tragic death of its driver. While accidents happen, what followed was a masterclass in PR deflection by BYD, leaving many questions unanswered and genuine concerns brushed aside.
BYD has been accused of various missteps, price hikes, resistance to price reductions, quality issues, and even exploiting its employees. Their PR moves, especially in the face of criticism, has been less than stellar. And then there is the fan base. Some byd enthusiasts held the company’s environmental initiatives like their carbon neutral goals. But when faced with criticism, these fans often become aggressive defenders, sometimes resorting to personal attacks.

What do you expect when their leading designer is a Taliban....
I have a feeling that BYD is designing cars to pass the tests, so it's good on paper, rather than to produce a good product. A bit like the diesel scandal VW experienced. The airbags only deploying under certain conditions (I assume that means under test conditions) is an example. Cutting corners with the fuel tank and hybrid system is another, where the hybrid system will work in test conditions, but in real life use there are many situations where the engine will engage to keep the fuel tank from building pressure. They aim to design cars that are easy to sell, but forget that to survive long term, they need to create brand loyalty.
Easy to sell, acceptable in test drive, looking good in CCP officials' eyes, and cheap
All they need to do is make reliable. Not smart
They should just rebrand themselves as BYD we Break Your Dreams 😂

Tofu Dreg Batteries and Vehicle 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 TOFU DREG = DEFECT and Short life
@@mygamechannel2300 the bitch is these EV’s aren’t actually all that cheap to buy! Cheaper than comparable imported EV vehicles, but still not cheap.
Especially considering the design and assembly defects, short life of the battery and other components, insanely high repair costs, and that a fully charged battery performance quickly falls away and doesn’t last the expected mileage so it more expensive to drive than a comparable gas vehicle, and it has little resale value.
To say nothing of their high propensity towards catching fire and quickly becoming a full conflagration, sometimes before you can escape.
This is why many Chinese are happy to keep buying gas powered vehicles. Or spending a bit more and getting a non-domestic EV brand like Tesla who have shareholders, regulators, civil courts, an uncensored media, and a mouthy western population to answer to if their product is a hazard, their performance claims are lies, or it just simply sucks.

Electric cars generate MILLIONS of volts it needs to power the vehicle. Those wires needs to be properly insulated. These chinese car factories are cutting corners and using the cheapest materials for insulation. That is why there are sooooo fires with their cars!
@jeffjohnson5053 Wrong Jeff! They do not produce Millions of Volts. The DC battery Power is converted to 3 phase AC power to run a Brushless AC motor if the Chinese are the Copycats they are on every other piece of technology they try to copy. I agree they are using the cheapest materials available. Minimal Engineering is a worldwide business philosophy today and I'm sure the Chinese are the leaders. Dendrites are most likely the problem. They are causing all of the Lithium Battery fires.

EVs are much less likely to catch on fire - depending on your country it is20 to 80 times less likely.
Also, batteries contain ENERGY, and this is separate to their voltage levels which go a maximum of 800volts for only the more expensive EVs,

Trump maintains several Chinese bank accounts, which doesn’t say how much he hold there but the tax records show he paid $188,561 in taxes in China. For what you may ask?
He owns several Chinese companies, including THC China Development L.L.C., which has partnered with the Communist Chinese State Grid Corporation, one of the nation’s largest Chinese government-controlled enterprises in that nation.
Remember when Trump went to China to work on “trade issues” for the nation? What Trump actually did was some weak for show only deal making between a couple American and Chinese firms, but spent a good deal of his time furthering his own interests.
Weeks after this “trade meeting”, his company THC China Development reported an unusually large spike in revenue of $17.5 million. This sudden spike was more than the previous five years’ combined. Revenue which Trump mysteriously described as “management fees”. It was accompanied by an immediate $15.1 million withdrawal by Mr. Trump from the company’s capital account.
And I am just describing 1 instance of dozens from publicly available sources. To say nothing of the large number of connections, deals, and holdings and deposits involving his family and in-laws have enjoyed from their mysterious relationships with the CCP and its State owned enterprises.

1:00. To be fair, not all the airbags are supposed to deploy in all situations. For example, if there's nobody in the passenger seat, the ones for that seat won't deploy. Side airbags only deploy in a side impact. So, if there was only the driver, and a front impact, yes, only the one airbag in the steering wheel will deploy.
Buy yet defective, buy with defects, buy your defective, buy yet damage, buy your burn
The producers of this video are warriors. Keep up the good work. ❤
This is one of the risks of driving an EV car. Since energy density of lithium battery is much less than that of gasoline, lithium battery pack is much bigger than a gas tank. During a crash, it's more likely to damage a part of the battery pack than the gas tank which is usually located closer to the back of the vehicle. Damaging the battery during a crash can cause an electrical fire easily as the chemicals inside lithium battery are highly volatile. It happens to all car brands with electric cars and not just BYD. As more and more electric cars on are the roads, you will hear about more and more cars burning up in flames after a crash.

Whoa, the acceleration and AC compressor issue makes me think of late seventies/early eighties cars. They wouldnt accepetate per se, but even in the 2000's it would affect performance during spurited driving. But mostly in manual cars. Youd switch off the AC if you wanted to race, but if you wanted the same speed you kept it (well, sorta. Old cruise controls could get annoyingly surgey with AC). But thats a bygone problem. Oh, and i miss manual transmissions, i think im gonna buy an older Ariel Atom :)

BYD: I know how we can make our cars cheaper. Cheap parts, low quality build and copied design! $$$$$!!!
I never heard of BYD before. I am not sure hybrids will be toast after just 5 years. Part of the reason EV sales are not as expected are that people wish to find out which EV lasts for 300,000 miles. Yes they will get more expensive, but by then used ones will be available. My old Toyota gasoline truck only has 120,000 miles on it and mechanics all say don’t worry. So far the Chevy Bolt looks good as a commuter car. For myself I would like to see that Bolt drivetrain inside a smaller and lighter mini-truck.
This is why!! I dont want an Electric Car Ever..
First we had the Yugo to make fun of. Now we have BYD saying that every malfunction is the customers fault.
Insurance companies will figure out fairly quickly that they don't want to insure a BYD.
Just wanna point out that Teslas have had multiple incidents where their airbags didn't deploy when they should have, and they have caught on fire as well. If you look on the news, there are many reports of Teslas and Chevy Bolts that have caught on fire and burned down houses and garages. But gas cars are actually more likely to catch on fire (just ask Kia), but we don't hear about them as much because the media focuses on electric cars for the clicks since they are new and controversial and it gains attention so they gain more ad revenue. I did look at some numbers and BYD EVs didn't really have a higher rate of spontaneous combustion than Teslas or other brands.
Self driving cars are a gimmick. Manual driving can be fun.
Electrics in vehicles are never easy, looking at you France and Italy, but if powering on the AC leads to the vehicle accelerating, you've got BIG problems.
Behind every corrupt company is a sea of colluding desperate employees who themselves belong to the common class.
