    I fell asleep last night, smugly celebrating my future, savvy, value priced purchase of the Brompton B75. Snoozing in a REM state, I had a nightmarish vision of palpable terror. Rounding a corner on my B75 in NYC, I heard from across the street , a mixed crowd yell in unison outside of a Soup Kitchen with fingers pointing......" Look, a Brommie B75 in Peasant Blue. He's struggling just like us all!".😁

      @@brilliantbikes Brompton's are a classic of form, function, beauty, and charm just like you. I am glad I gave you a token chuckle, and that you have a great sense of humor, and didn't delete my post or misread "peasant blue" (sic) , as Pheasant blue, Cornflower blue, or any other shade not as lovely as your eyes and Brit accent ,but I digress being from across the pond. ;)

    I have modified my bespoke 75 with colour coded carbon fibre mudguards, chain guard and other bits titanium to reduce weight. Everything cheap have been changed from peddles, brook saddle and leather handles. I love how I personalised it and looks far better the the normal Brompton, I am not sure if I want an ML6. It’s all fun and games changing a cheap B75 into a modded B75 Brompton.

    Hi. I love the information you share and have enjoyed each video I've watched so far. I have a question for you re: the B75 seat post. Is there a reason for the additional 6cm? To help make the bike more compact is not simply a matter of a) cutting 6cm off the bottom of the seat post - without damaging its' integrity - or simply buy the 'standard length' seat post? Thanks 👍🏼

    • @brilliantbikes
      @brilliantbikes  2 роки тому

      Many thanks for the question. As the bottom of the seat post if flared out, so it stops when you pull it up, we would recommend buying a standard seat post. It does make them more compact when folded.

    I had my lovely B75 stolen😢 I stupidly replaced it with a SL - is there much of a difference after I replaced the saddle and added a front block, pedals and mudguards which did not cost that much really compared with the price hike for a SL? Not really. I have even put a 44T chain ring on my SL. You can put a standard chain ring on the B75 as well. The seat post - again cheap to replace. The difference is negligible. It is a bit unfair to talk about not being able to upgrade from 3 to 6spd. You have the same issue if you get a standard 3spd Brompton.
    So I would get the B75 and spend the money on other stuff to improve your life. Oh the colour of the B75 is better than any of the stock Brompton colours IMHO.

If I knew I was going to like it this much I might have sprung for a new 6 speed. Went all the way down to a 40 tooth H&H chainring because climbing with the stock setup was brutal❗️Hey I noticed the mudguard on the stock one sits a little to one side just like mine does , Is there a quick fix for that , kinda makes me a little crazy 🤪

    Amazing video and thanks for All that Details. Still have one question, in You can answer this? How much does an b75/a line weigh in fact, compared to a Standard brompton, considering all the components missing? (On the site is 11,6kg, but on the US site is listed 10,5kg)

    Mine is a Flamepainted, Yellow Lightweight, and I got it with its clamp in front, from the dealer, and as a final bike. I have changed what I may find to titanium - and it seems it has the "long version" seat post, as I couldn't fit it in my B&W box for travels, without removing the saddle, and the pin! So I have also invested in a black telescope post, from - Brilliantbikes, I may add, though living in EU still, after the British have got themselves into a lot of troubles - now not even being able to even buy fuel 😬! Greetings from Denmark.

    You mentioned that Brompton rear wheels should be in the center of the rear triangle but according to Brompton UK saying that this is very normal for the rear wheel to off set to the right side . You have seems so many Brompton models and yet didn’t noticed that the rear wheels are offset to the right side , disappointing . You should take a look at all your existing Brompton models rear wheels ..

      If it’s like here the configurator is only available to dealers when they can order the bikes, so maybe have a chat with your local Brompton dealer and ask them if they can order what you are looking for.

    How do you mix and match colors? Will Brompton do this if requested? If so, how? Nothing on their website says they do, so I figure you just have to order what they offer you. Ditto choice of seatposts. My H6L C-line Explorer came with an extended seatpost and I had to pay extra and buy a standard height seatpost.

    If I wanted to upgrade the brake levers on a b75 to new style levers with the integrated gear shifter, what parts would I need? As I understand it, I’d need the levers and new cables. Would it be possible to link me to the parts on your site please? Preferably black 🙂
    Also, can you change the stem on a b75 to the new longer stem? I think Brompton said this was possible but difficult? Thanks

    Hi madam , I just purchased a B75 and realised that my rear tire is slightly more to the right side , is this consider normal ??

    • @brilliantbikes
      @brilliantbikes  2 роки тому

      Hi Sir
      No - that is not normal - it should be sitting in the centre - if it is not, it could rub somewhere (which at worst case can cause a blowout puncture)
      It's worth getting the bike shop to seat it properly (probably as simple as deflating, manipulating the tyre / tube and re-inflating)
      It should be corrected

    • @sese75kenneth12
      @sese75kenneth12 2 роки тому

      But Brompton Junction advised that this is normal built of Brompton as to accommodate the folding mechanism .. as well as to in line with the chainring ..

    My beloved B75 was stolen in London last Wednesday. I am devastated. I can already imagine it is now being sold somewhere, who knows where, to someone who is probably unaware of what happened. Please don't buy a bike if it doesn't have legitimate appurtenance/history documentation with clear registration plate (with frame number and serial number). You can check their status on websites for "Bike Register", "Immobilise", "Stolen Bikes", and "Bike Index". If the frame number/serial number are missing on the frame, or the bike is tagged as stolen online, please report it to the police. Together we may create a safer biking community.
