Great review old chap. I compare my T5 to my Bk16. T5 more heavy duty hard use. Bk16 perfect for national parks, garden work etc. Why am I comparing? Same reason you compared to those other ones 😊😅 I have fallen for the T5. Leather sheath and all. Touch wood the button holds out...mine just needed about fifty sheath and unsheath reps while buttoning and unbuttoning every five (i.e...stretching and 'memorising' the leather so its not over burdened initially..they don't have time to do that in the factory at this price pojnt). Now the sheath is smooth as silk and the button latch just works one handed which is sweet. I still want a much more compact (and lightweight) kydex unit similar to yours. That shit is rad AF. Super sleek too....the leather one, love its leather heart...is a bit Chubby....
Beautiful knife. I have the LionSteel M2M in M390, along with 2 very good carbon steel bushcraft knives, and other great hunting knives including a magnacut blade, so my biggest problem with this model is that, try as I might, I cannot really find a valid justification to buy one, much as I'd like one. I suspect it would just end up sitting in my knife drawer and mostly unused. And that, I can't rationalize the expenditure for.
My favorite regrets, the T5 and T6 from Lionsteel, tried in hand both models at SMKW and ... didn't pull the trigger. Don't forget .. that inner grip handle distance makes all the difference with birds beak pommel/ends. On the list ... thanks, Togatta.
Absolutely LOVE my T5. It’s an extremely comfortable & highly versatile blade. Can be used for tactical, bushcraft, hunting, & camping. Obviously a little too large for EDC. Have had no issues with sheath snap like you did. Thanks for a good review of an awesome fixed blade.
Purchased the black version during last year’s Black Friday Sales. Well built knife, I like the design. I have yet to use it much so the jury is still out on Niolox for me. The sheath on the other hand has been busy carrying my Bark River Bravo Clip Point & Cub...
The Lionsteel T5 is a great knife, good steel und awesome handle, one of the best handle of all my knives (around 80). The T6 is also a really good knife, especially the K490 version.
I keep coming back to this knife because it looks fantastic. I am just a little skeptical of Niolox, because I am not a fan of D2 or its derivatives. Still, some trusted sources for knife reviews give it rave reviews so I can't discount it completely. It is like a persistent itch that I might just have to scratch. I actually EDC fixed blades with 4 to 5 inch blades, so this is right up my alley if I can get over my distrust of the Niolox. It has to be at least as good as 1095, right? I am not a total steel snob. I carry plenty of the 1095. I love my TOPS HOG 4.5. And the T5 is under $200, so I should be able to justify taking the plunge, right?
This is my second knife in Niolox and I must say they come through with a terrific edge and seem to hold it well. Try an app called knife steel compositions, for more info on this steel. If you shop for it at White Mountain Knives you can use my discount code, "oldsword" for 10% off... 👍🗡️👍
So I see a few moments where the focus wandered but seem to be sharp for most of it. Might go back to a plane background as I think that's what's happening is that anything with a texture to it will grab focus on an autofocus setup. Appreciate your feedback! 👍 Btw, be sure your quality is set to the highest for the video because low quality will make it look blurry....
Beautiful knife at a decent price. I like the two you compared also. I am forever a fixed blade guy.
And that's fixed!

I wanna see this is Delta 3V or MagnaCut - I would be all over that.

Thank you Sir! 👍🗡️👍
Lionsteel is my favorite production fixed blade company. I have the B35, the M5, and the T6 K490 version. They are all great knives.
Thanks for sharing!

I’ll find a way to EDC it when I get mine (under coat perhaps), since it’s bad azz knife! 😅

Thank you for your knowledge. One coming soon.
Great choice! Best of luck. 👍🗡️👊
Digging that blade. That basalisk is really nice too.

Looks awesome! Great video 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Not a complaint, just an FYI, the video focus isn't sharp.

I have the black bladed t5 with green Micarta, but man that Ryu looks nice. May have to grab that as well.
🗡️🔥👍
I like that knife. It looks like a great do it all design. I'd like to see 3 pins in the handle though.
I don't feel you need more than two screws with this handle type since the handle is all one piece and tightly fit. It's not going anywhere. 🗡️👍
I agree kydex is a necessary upgrade . Im not familiar with nylox but i love the size and design
Was the snap on the original maybe pull dot?
Nope, looked for that....
Niolox (SB1) is in my opinion one of the best corrosion resistant non-powdered steels, good toughness and edge retention.
Cool video thanks.
Thanks for watching! 🗡️👍🗡️
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
