You need some surgical tubing for your sling shot, Motor Oil color is what we use in the Susquehanna River, WORKS GREAT.
It looks extremely similar to a Hellgrammite. I’m positive that will be a fantastic bait were Hellgrammites are found. Small mouth slayer!
To hatch it, I toss the cysts in about a quart and a half of room temperature water, add 2 tablespoons of sea salt, and then use a bubbler to churn it until they hatch. They usually hatch after about a day.
Scoping out new spots is fun&exhilarating. I like it a lot.

Our weather has been warm/cold/warm/cold. Got to go fishing after work and caught 10-12 bluegill on small tube jigs. Great lure! I once wrote a report on sea monkeys for some dumb class I had to take in college. The teacher did not share my sense of humor.

You should try making an extremely versatile swimbait. Something that has a lot of interchangeable parts lips weights fins etc. Think the Geomexus Cyberbait but Marling style

If you wanted to make the leg action even better, you could just make them completely cylindrical to exploit turbulence precession. It's the reason car antennas have a spiral on them, and why flagpoles and cell phone towers are completely tube shaped.

I have a tip for you my dad builds high quality model cars for custom car owners. He also makes lots of resin parts and has to make molds of parts. I noticed you use wood and screw them together for your molds damn. My dad uses Lego bricks and they make perfect reusable molds give it a try sometime pretty sure you’ll love it

Have you been to the Reynolds Advanced Materials in Chicago? It is a long field trip for you but may be worth it.
The one in Denver has a bunch of great lure making supplies and a great selection of silicone.
Lyme dissease isn't really anything to worry about, just keep your eyes on the area where you hade a tick, can easily be treated with antibiotics.
TBE on the other hand is a lot worse.
I was looking at lure ideas the other day and think it would be really cool if you make a "mudskipper" lure so I figured I'd let you know lol

If your old silicone mixing container or mixing sticks had ANY residue from a previous different brand of silicone, it could interact and make your new silicone cure in weird ways. My guess is that's what caused the first batch to clump up and cure so quickly. A similar thing can happen with resin too. You live and you learn :)

Dude, when you pour your MASTER, put the box on a shaker table with a 240hz~480hz transducer. Not full ultrasonic because detalis and glues/resins/details make crack. But it will force all the air out of the smallest of knooks and crannys and allow full flow. This will also work when you pour the plastic into the sillicone mold. Please look into this. You will never go back.

There actually is a species of fairy shrimp (big freshwater seamonkey, basically) that gets to 3" or more. I wonder if it would work as bait.
