Damn that Tarpon was a nice size at the beginning. Awesome jump! Great looking Jacks as well and sure the fight was ridiculous....next time you go bring some crabs and fish right next to them bulkheads and concrete pylons...see if there's some sheepshead or tog next to them...Great vid Mike!!

    Hey man, great video!
I used to fish tarpons with my dad in Brazil.
This fishing is really particular, it is a visual fishing. You should observe the water and just wait for the fish to come to top water (just like on 23:23 and 23:30) and then you cast just behind it. Reel in aprox. 3 times, stop for half a second, and keep doing it this way. You'll catch'em a lot more!
The white shad you're using is great choice, by the way.
Good luck on your next adventures!

I live near a now decommissioned power plant. When it was in operation, the cooling tower outflow was 10F warmer than the surrounding water. It housed migratory fish like striped bass and bluefish year round. Now, fish still show up there, but not nearly as much.

As an employee of one of these places, the water going out is cleaner than the water coming in. This appears to be a mixture of coal and natural gas plant. There is no radiation as that is not a nuclear facility. Also there is more radiation in your home than we face on a daily basis at a nuclear facility.

i love catching big fish and after losing too many due to 30lb mono popping i switched over to braid on all of MY reels. my mom and nephews still use mono so i spooled fresh 12lb on theirs for the upcoming season. i use 30lb braid on my 4000 size reels, 60lb braid on my 6000 reels, 80lb braid on my 8000 reels and 100lb braid on my 10000 reel. 13 rods sizes range from 2.5 feet(zebco dock demon) to 15 feet.

If you get hit hard with a swim bait stop reeling and let it dead fall to the bottom, usually before it hits the mud or sand the fish will have turned and ate the bait, they are used to blasting through bait balls and turn to eat the injured baitfish....its worked for me a lot

The water at a nuclear power plant is as clean as any other water. The water is used for a 1930's steam engine. The reactor is simply the heat source. Think about the HP steam locomotives made and amount of generators they could turn with a reactor turning water into steam in a fraction of a second. Water expands 16X it's original volume. A soda can turned into steam will fill 16 cans

Was it a nuclear plant? If not i would say youre likely fine. Even then youre fine because the water that flows back is simply used to cool the reactor but doenst become irradiated because its not in contact with radiation.
