That sounds like a lot of work. All to maybe reach a couple of hundred vegans in her local area, and MAYBE be able to cover the rent and ingredients and employee salaries, and maybe not. Or, she can continue to make amazing recipes which only take a few days, have very little risk, and can reach millions of viewers like us. :-) Mary, I am totally grateful for the hard work you do right now, and will support you as long as you want to do it.
I used Old El Paso's refried beans to create a cinnamon and pumpkin spice pudding with sugar.. Next time I gonna use chocolate powder and vanilla extract..
Weird, right?! I had a similar feeling when I was 19 and discovered that cream sauces were made with flour and not necessarily with cream. Like, WUT?! hehe 🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩
In Germany where I live, most (or possibly all, though I wouldn't swear to that!) dry custard mixes are accidentally vegan since they consist only of some sort of starch, sugar, and possibly food colouring, and you can make them with any type of milk you like, including plant milk. These are also the traditional ingredients for making custard from scratch, except most people still use cow's milk. So, very similar principle!
"I'd rather use my trusty old kitchen scale for accuracy and less effort" YES 🙌 waiting for the day that every part of the world converts to measuring most types of ingredients with scales instead of cups and spoons (that aren't universally sized). using scales also means less cleanup of course as you can measure your ingredients directly into your bowl 👍
Its so much easier to use cups and expense-wise and teaching kids, it just makes sense to use cups that you can get at a dollar store. Kitchen scales are unfortunately a luxury.
epiccollision $10? lol u can get them for like £3-5. Cups are useful for measuring out portion sizes but I'd never use them for recipes that require any sort of accuracy
Oh my goodness those look absolutely delicious and tasty I want one of those now. I missed your videos and I'm so glad you are back. Your videos are calming to watch. Hope you are well.
Mary .....Ok so HANDS DOWN, 100%, YOU ARE THE go-to guy for any and everything veganized! There are so many things I miss in the past few years since switching to WFPB & if I'm ever craving something I come STRAIGHT to your channel. If you make a cookbook it will be a #1 seller! Thank you for not only veganizing everything but making it perfect & delicious tasting just like we remember it! You are SUCH a pioneer!
Boston Cream doughnuts were one of my fave picks from Tim Horton's. So while we wait for the donut shops to get it together and make vegan versions on the regular, we can make our own, dangnabbit! What are your favourite donut flavours? Let me know and maybe I'll do it next time!
My favourite were always the Honey Crullers, loved that tractor tire shape, doughey-stretchy inside and delicious glazing. Would love to see a vegan version of it if you're up for the challenge :D (PS : I'm on the I-still-eat-honey bandwagon, we need to save the bees right? So why not support local beekeepers so that we don't lose most of the fruits and veggies we do have)
I just made these!! I absolutely loved the dough and the combination of the cream and the chocolate was perfect!! I didn't have chocolate chips so I made a glaze with unsweetened coco. I made them a little too small so they kind of turned out more like profiteroles than doughnuts but it was my first time baking anything with yeast so I'm really happy with how they turned out!!! I'm definitely going to be trying this recipe again!! Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Underrated?!?!? Practically EVERY home has a microwave and thats the first appliance people choose when they have no kitchen available. This is like when I see a video with millions of views and the fans are like "youre so underrated, why don't more people love you", I'm like how many fans does someone/thing NEED for these people? The microwave is for the most part not going to give gourmet food, but lets just be honest and admit there's no real danger of it dying out as a cooking tool.
I made these yesterday and they turned out so good! It was my first time making doughnuts and I wanted to try this recipe for such a long time and yesterday was finally the time! I yum!
I love fried foods, I'm not gonna lie! So happy you did a traditional fried version, Mary! I know a lot of people are health conscious, but there are a lot of us who otherwise just like to enjoy our favourite foods too :)
WOW! Just today I saw a Boston Cream Donut for the first time, and I thought to myself "Well that's a shame, I'll never be able to have one" and then this!!!! :O I admire the amount of work you put into your videos, the quality shows :)
Mamma mia! Now I have to make these. So far I've made your vegan fried chkn the other night I made tofu. Both delicious! You are a vegan kitchen goddess!
Thank you! haha nothing FEELS different though. hehe I don't know what I expected. Thanks for watching and leaving me nice comments throughout the years
I'm from Massachusetts and Boston Creme was my favourite! I would have it every single time at any donut shop as a child I an happy I don't have to give up some of my favourite foods
My boyfriends birthday is in like a week and his favorite donut of all time is the Boston cream but we haven't had them since we went vegan two years ago so I'm gonna make these for him, he's gonna love it! Thank you for the recipe! I made your fried chicken recipe recently and all my friends said it was the best they'd ever had
I can't stop making these, they are so delicious! Thanks so much for the recipe! I use soybean oil for the cream and it always comes out perfect. The first time I made it with canola oil which had a really strong canola flavour which wasn't great ^^
Great recipe! You could have added a pinch of turmeric for the pastry cream to make it look a bit yellow-ish. I will try your recipe very soon. Thank you Mary!
Are you kidding me? please open your restaurant already , i would be there every day haha
haha one day

Mary, I am totally grateful for the hard work you do right now, and will support you as long as you want to do it.
I would buy her cookbooks if thwre are any. Are there?
I agree. Waiting for that restaurant to open.
LOL. Of course not that gonna happen.
Best donut hands down. Thank you for making a vegan version.
Thanks for watching!
I used Old El Paso's refried beans to create a cinnamon and pumpkin spice pudding with sugar.. Next time I gonna use chocolate powder and vanilla extract..
Pastry cream using flour?! My mind is BLOWN. I never would have guessed that this would work! Amazing!
Weird, right?! I had a similar feeling when I was 19 and discovered that cream sauces were made with flour and not necessarily with cream. Like, WUT?! hehe
🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩
Definitely! Thanks for sharing!

Lena Moser its the same in India!
I'll just go to Krispy Kreme ^-^
I like how nice and forgiving you sound because it keeps me calm if I mess up in a step
I really love your "its your food, so there are no rules" thought ❤
+Dominika Džatková thank you!
Mary any person. LOL.
you're doing the lord's work
+The Fourteenth Ward thank you ;-)
The Fourteenth Ward this made me laugh out loud! Yes!
I don't believe in god but that was pretty funny. :-P
Yo, I'm not Christian but this had me rolling too, well done
The Pope
No reason not to be vegan with this in our lives :)
Basically anything can be made vegan! :D
🍩🍩🍩
damn right
yeah
There is a reason to become a vegan. Which is a NetFlix's documentary, known as "Forks Over Knives".
@@supremegrandmaster6841 no the only reason is dominion or earthlings

It HAS made my baking life so much easier!
Its so much easier to use cups and expense-wise and teaching kids, it just makes sense to use cups that you can get at a dollar store. Kitchen scales are unfortunately a luxury.
VF-31Siegfried a 10$ scale is a luxury...???
epiccollision $10? lol u can get them for like £3-5. Cups are useful for measuring out portion sizes but I'd never use them for recipes that require any sort of accuracy
VF-31Siegfried if your a common baker, you should have one, it's also easer to teach kids using scales as cups can be a pain to work with.
Made these last weekend - granddaughter approved! Used my air fryer - so easy
Oh my goodness those look absolutely delicious and tasty I want one of those now. I missed your videos and I'm so glad you are back. Your videos are calming to watch. Hope you are well.
Thank you, my dear!

If you WET your hands before you handle the sticky dough it wont be messy for your hands. Tip i learned from a french baker.
true! Good tip!
Duh! Because of sugar.
I just made these!! I absolutely loved the dough and the combination of the cream and the chocolate was perfect!! I didn't have chocolate chips so I made a glaze with unsweetened coco. Yay! You did amazing especially for your first time?!?! wow!! Ambitious and I'm proud of you!!! 🤗🤗🤗
Wow i love that you explain everything so well and consider problems or mistakes that might occur.
Microwaves are underrated. I once made an entire batch of vegan white gravy in a microwave and it was delicious.
