    You know what would make activating the hypershunts less of a hassle? If it functioned like the AI core sell menu. You dump however much you want in there, and can deposit or even withdraw more later.

    If you want a fun Boss faction to fight, look up Adversary.
    It's a faction supposed to mimic another player, they use vanilla ships, but they minmax all their loadups, starts with a very strong system and are very aggro on everyone.
    They're fun.

    I tuned in on the recommendation of my brother and oh boy, im just wowed. My love for Starsector is large, my talents at combat relatively small aside from phase abuse and using Omega equipped Zig to bully my foes into submission.
    Watching your fleet in action is just art. I’ve never seen someone play that smoothly. I’ll be watching more, hopefully I can learn something here!

    This series has been great. A little sad to know next episode will be the last one, but if there's not much more to do, it's reasonable.

    WOW, you got FTL music in there. i'm a huge fan, still trying to learn the game, you are so knowledgeable, it's impressive. i'm still trying to find out how to get interesting ships and how to use the hull mods properly. ABSOLUTELY FASCINATING GAME! Just SOOO GOOD! Thanks for your posts

    Hey Big or even, GIANT Brain Energy, at 32:46 and constantly whenever you are point blank range of a ship, friendly ships will reduce or not fire their weapons at all even if you are behind the target. Just letting you know if you haven't noticed it before. It was also why you have had times where your ships wouldn't fire back when you got wiped to nothing but an Omen frigate by Derelicts at the mothership. I dont know if it's a recent AI tweak but it has caused a deep issue for aggressive style fighting

    Hey BBE! I was wondering if you'd ever be interested in doing a sort of "guide to loadouts/hulls" video similar to Grumpy. I really appreciate your thoughts on ships and their loadouts, and it makes me think about the game differently. I'm really bad at the combat, and always have to use autopilot, and these loadouts have been life-saving for my runs. Your videos are already very similar to guides, but if you're interested in making it a point-by-point formatted video, I'd LOVE to watch! Thanks for the content, love your videos!

      I will probably do that at some point, but it requires more time investment writing up a script for that than it does to play the game it talk about what comes to top of mind. It's definitely worth doing at some point, but for scripted videos I'm also interested in making a comprehensive beginner's guide that covers everything outside of loadouts. So basically, I don't know exactly when I'll have time for it, but I am interested!

    That titbit around 55:30, about afflictor so good it just dissapears from the tac view - description of Doom class hints that it was kinda like that earlier, when ship sensors weren't adapted to the phase ships and they were just invisible during dive. Now I wonder - would there be any sense or even technical possibility to mod that in, maybe make phase ships more interesting, especially to fight against.
    But thats besides the point. What I really wanted to ask - with the adventures of Captain Bingus coming to the end you have mentioned that you are working on the videos with the Hivers. I am very interested to see it, but I am even more interested to see your take on the more "special" mod bounties, like the more crazy IBB bounties from SWP, certain spooky boi from HMI, the fight at the end of the quest line from Nexerelin or the roaming fleets from the Seeker, and what kind of loadouts you will conjure when not restricted to vanilla. So, my question is - do you have any plans for modded playthroughs beside the Hiver video?
    Cheers BBE, been watching you since the "uneditied rambling about ship loadouts for an hour" and thoroughly enjoying it!

      I am planning to do modded playthroughs! As soon as this one is over I'll be booting up a new file with at least a few faction mods, definitely including hivers, and possibly some of the others you mentioned once I finalize the mod list.

    on the topic of omega weapons, i've been shoving rift lances onto my omens and they seemed to do well with it since the AI is very generous with its usage too compared to the AM-Blaster ..and the 3OP salamanders because eh.
    still trying to find a use for the rift beam though. cool weapon, painfully expensive for what it does.

      The rift beam seems only useful in player hands. Sweep to proc as many times as possible but of course the ai doesn't do this

      Can confirm it - Omens with Rift Lances at least seems to be good (not bother to use combat log module to actually check it).
      Also I prefer Atropos on them as IMHO AI have way too many misses with Reapers.

      @@warriorfire8103yeah that's what i was thinking, seeing the AI focus down a broadsword at the front of the pack and do nothing is painful, and manually targeting priority bombers/torps was pretty fun tbh. I was also considering sticking it on a frontal hardpoint to force it to apply some beam pressure while popping any missiles launched head-on, like when fighting an eradicator. but i feel there's still better/cheaper options available

    I may have missed something but you gotta drop the colony crisis meter down to 425 to reroll, not 500 right?
    Also in my current playthrough I'm trying out what you suggested a few videos back where I got a bunch of Conquests (up to 4 right now) and S-modded Insulated Engine Assembly on them for a sneaky cap fleet, though I'd copied your 5 Omens from this run instead of the pirate Afflictors, and I'm flying the Afflictor build that I also stole from you. I'm still playing with the loadouts on the Conquests trying to figure out how to build them well, but it seems quite strong, at least against the crisis fleets. I've been delaying the Sindrian crisis by killing a bunch of their ships, though (seriously, I've blown up like 20+ Executors by now...), so my blowback is up to like 500 points and the crisis is at like 550 points. The double crisis that is surely coming my way should be fun! 😂

    Just pop 5-6 try-tachyon trade fleets and get extra 20-30 accessability from your contact. Not like their event requires lots of attention. Plus bounty hunters still spawn.

    About your idea of cruiser with large turret slot for Paladin PD - what will stop us from using SO to fix issues with flux for 2 large weapons?
    Using a special hull mod to prohibit usage of SO is so lazy move even if that's exactly what Alex did.

      @@tartine2463most boring way to do so - it would be either OP or useless "FY Persian League" ship.
      I would suggest another approach (but I guess low-tech lovers will send a hitman for me) - make M&L-sized PD able to shot down incoming kinetic projectiles. Probably they could do it with full efficiency only in a reduced firing arc (to stop them from being too OP) and of course they need enough RoF to be able stop fire from several enemy slots :)
      P.S. Seriously I recently run through Codex and spend minutes laughing - most kinetic weapons are hot garbage, obsolete by centuries and are unable to hit starships in AM-era even at point blank range.

    "I assume there's eventually a hard limit" As far as i'm concerned, there is no hard cap on inventory space. Although the speed penalty will eventually drag you down to 0 burn, I suppose you could consider that the hard cap becuase you're pretty fucked unless you're on top of a hypershunt/market/whatever or dump a bunch of shit.

    paragon comparatively is too slow to be a midrange ship imho(still works though obviously), best role is as a battlefield centerpiece maxrange beamer. for me with focus on pd, hil and tachyon in hardpoints

    Oh, by the way about vanilla content - technically you also missing a Remnant crisis, but it's lacking unique ships or fights and once you're able to deal with 2+ Alpha Radiants (as you already done in current video) it's no longer an issue.
    P.S. Imagine ganked by 4 Alpha Radiants with players-made loadouts 😄Still they're not scary as much as when they're in player hands: I'm a new player using one now and man, even with 66 DP cost and no Omega weapons, even with me using only RTS-style commands - that cursed thing is melting everything in seconds.

      I provoked a Remnant crisis by setting up an alpha core farm. But then i again, i was really farming them so it kept being pushed back and then i had 50+ alpha cores so i just blew up the Nexus and left. Never got to see the special fleet they are supposed to send to sat bomb my honeypot colony.
      And then blowback mechanic kicked in hard, so next crisis(that being pathers looking for their precious fetish device) popped almost instantly.

    hey great video man! :D just small question regarding the administration of your colonies since you are using alpha cores anyway why not put them as admins since the buffs are insane from them

      I like having the option to remove them, which an AI admin really does not like. At this stage of the game I won't need to remove them anyways so I'll probably install AI admins next time.

    Couldn't you get that one skill that lets you level your officers up to level 6 for a little while, then respec once they're all leveled? Or do they all drop back down to level 5 when you do that?

      They drop down to level 5. Well, you also have the option of keeping them at level 6 and turning them into mercenaries but that gets bit more complicated, the point is you can't cheese your officers to higher levels like that.

    Am new to your videos, enjoying the playthrough. GJ BBE. Heres a playthrough idea... not sure if it'll work. Spread Ludds word throughout the galaxy by giving your colonies to the Church. Luddic Church colony crisis results in ownership turnover. Not sure if its repeatable. Use a LC commission and only LC ships. Not sure if you do themed playthroughs.

      I use a mod (linked in the description) that adds battle music. On the mod page it should have some instructions for how to add your own music.
