Rarr laughing his ass off as he realizes he "accidently" plummeted an entire planet into a new dark age is really everything you need to know about this video. Wouldn't expect anything less from this mad lad.
I literally did that with fuel in a base game once. Suddenly nobody was losing relations with me. In base game. It became even worse when I started using mods.
you can do all kinds of wacky shit in this game, but yeah Nexerelin is basically required, even if you want to play vanilla. I conquered the whole sindrian diktat in my game, expanded the sindria system, sabotaged every fuel production colony, and now have 100% market share of fuel, a complete monopoly.
How the hell did you get this lucky? Two Terran worlds side by side WITH an artillery system and you also got all these 14th battleships for free as salvage! I've never seen such a blessed run.
@@overboss9599 Why? It's not even that great. I got a Jungle, Terran Eccentric, Arid, Gas Giant and Barren world spread across two neighboring systems + a gate nearby. Covers all my production needs, makes 300k a month, I can jump into the core worlds in 1 minute and nothing has been able to get through the defenses. Of course most industries decked out with cores and items for even more profit.

like a true brit, rarr starved out several defenseless people, took their shit, then sold it back to them for insane prices until their civilization collapsed--then colonized it.
Putting half of galaxy in starvation, while protecting Kennedy from assassins is not a easy task, but you executed masterfully. Great video mate, so glad to see you shenanigans again:)
in vanilla you don't even need to take down the pirate spaceports, they have such bad accessibility by default that just poking qaras results in immediate food shortages
Rarr, keep making videos man, you're one of my favorite creators and you always make me laugh. This video made me redownload Starsector and play it again.
Reminds me of when I raided the pirate's singular food world in my game, and caused them to almost completely collapse in on themselves. Didn't mean much since it was vanilla, but still crazy.
I once, and only once, found a system with 3 terran worlds right next to each other. Sadly the characteristics sucked for all of em and it was at the ass end of the sector so horrible access. Right now however, in my current game, i got a double terran (75% and 100%) and a mediocre but functional barren orbiting a decent gas giant. I love seeing all 4 of my space stations in one screen since they're all soo close. It feels like a beehive. But yeah, double terrans are rare as hell. Loved the vid mate.
these starsector videos are the sole thing keeping my body from collapsing, slowly drip feeding content into my veins and re-invigorating my spirit... NURSE!!!! I NEED MORE STARSECTOR CONTENT, NUUUUUURSE!!!!! THERES NOT ENOUGH CONTENT IN MY VEIIIINNNSSS
Discovered your videos today while looking up newbie guides on youtube. I absolutely love your delivery of your script and as a long time Gregg's sausage roll enjoyer I was howling with laugher when you unveiled your faction name!
Rarr, i have watched ALL of your starsector videos, some even multiple times, and i need MOOREE. theyre amazing rlly, but i do have one suggestion as an avid viewer, it would be nice if videos were longer but had the same content, but have it more detailed and expanded upon yknow? you really jump from one moment to another with inbetween HOURS of playtime, and its rlly cool seeing the results, but i wanna know more about what happened inbetween yknow. What you were doing to get to that point where you made a colony, maybe some story about meeting random people or just missions or smn what you find exploring, just some good interesting juicy details like that. so myea good stuff man, love it.
Every time I watch a Rarr video, I wind up switching to playing the game he just did a video on. This inevitably leads me to having to update mods I currently have for that game... Then installing some of the newer and fancier mods that have come out since I last played... Then sinking dozens of hours into playing and adding MORE mods and updates. Only to switch back to the next game Rarr does a video on and repeating the process. This cycle has resulted in my modlists for Starsector, Rimworld, and Project Zomboid becoming absolutely horrifying monsters that have taken on a life of their own.
That's the spirit, turning one of the most unprofitable products into the most profitable ones. This inspires me to glass whole galaxay's ore production because oh boy looking at the +300k stacks in most of my worlds could be liquidated.
I have a copy of this game somewhere, id love to learn to play this game, shame i dont really have much time to try to learn solo, being taught and going "oh so you can do this and this to cause this" is the best feeling for anyone imo.
Thank you for the video, I crave for Starsector memes and shenanigans. Quick tidbit astronomical info: In Starsector the area where we play is an sector, which is just tiny area in a galaxy. Milky way galaxy is estimated to have over 100 billion stars, so the scale is absolutely nuts and saying that sector is galaxy is like saying kid's three wheeled bicycle is same as monster truck.
I'm new to Starsector, but I remember the first time I realized just how much you can effect the economy with raids, I didn't have a clue what I was doing, I think a squad of 15 marines more or less crippled a really good producer. Swept in and made bank!
Hey rarr it's me again glad to see that you are playing some of that space sci Fi drug and weapon seller... Sounds a lot like rimworld and speaking of rimworld what about that missing Cassandra Classic Experience Video we so desperately want and need. Nonetheless love the content and hope you have a good day.

I've just found two terran worlds next to each other in my new playthrough and was immediately reminded of this madness...now I'm also inclined to wage a food war across the galaxy.
7:15 That just might be a planet worth fighting the remnant over. A single mining industry and that's your basic resoures covered. Ruins AND farmland? Plus an infinite source of cores?
Rarr, your videos are part of the reason why I decided to pick up Starsector and give it a go. Thankfully, I have never tried any of your strategies, but your videos make for an excellent primer for anyone interested in the game as a whole. PS, I may or may not have convinced a "friend" to start with phase ships. We are no longer in contact. Thanks!

this game is so damn hard... with all the logistics, the AI being unaffected by logistics problem, or fleet caps. but even i enjoy seeing my small colony developping, and an orbital station being built. it's very gratifying when the game doesn't decide you have to die.
I think a cool challenge would, that you can only use ships you produce out of your own heavy industry. And you can’t change anything. The game decided that your eradicator needs 5 hullmods well would suck to be you. Or the heavy industry thinks that putting thumpers everywhere is a good idea. I think it could be nice playing with those unique and suboptimal shipdesigns
That's one thing I love about starsector. You can play it as "Mercenary Corp" where you do all the other empire's dirty work Or you can play it as a ruthless capitalist whose sole motive is profit, regardless of who stands in their way.
