The RNG for what weapons you find can be very punishing. Nothing better than flying halfway around the sector, visiting every planet along the way, and never seeing the gun you need. Like, what do you want me to do? Fly an asymmetrical build like I'm some kind of godless heathen?
I recommend getting the Stellar Networks mod, it adds a tab in the intel screen that lets you find what markets are selling the selected piece of equipment you want, along with a whole lot more. Huge QOL mod IMO.
Yeah, never play without it. Looking up HVD only to find out it's currently sold on 2 markets in the whole sector, both of which are military and hate my guts saves a lot of running around
The bugged planet shared with the independents is a recurring issue caused by the "Stop Gap Measure" mod, which add 3 systems (Utic, Byzos, and another one i forgot) Im no moder, but my understanding is that it doesnt link properly with nexerelin (which allow those random core starts) and so you can have two stations that actually are different markets for the same planet, resulting in the bug you saw. Unfortunately, i dont think it can be fixed in an ongoing game (at least not without extensive tinkering, but messing up with the command line was not enough for me) If I recall correctly, the author said they don't really know how to fix it, so what i would recommend when doing a random core would be either to a) disable the Stop Gap Measure mod or b) to yeet out the files in mod_name/data/campaign/econ. It worked for me, no more bug with stations. Hope this'll help someone out there ! And thank you Rarr for da funny content
Yes, this helps a lot as the random gen core worlds is broken for me as well with the randomly double-claimed planets and sometimes markets being unreachable
Someone probably said this already, but there's a market mod that lets you search for specific items and ships, and shows you where you can buy them, a must have imo, it's just stupidly tedious to have to run around systems trying to get that one gun or ship you need

Just so everyone knows, the mod Stellar Networks on the index solves that whole "can't find weapon" issue by being able to search for what is being sold.
1:10 it's not really early-game, but you can solve this problem by developing a trade contact on whatever planet you visit the most. They'll occasionally give out those production quests that let you order a number of ships/weapons/fighters for a markup, on a budget. In the late game, this can be a good way to fine-tune your fleet composition without wasting much time or resources. You will probably need to find the blueprints for what you need by exploring, which is why it takes a bit of time to start the process up.
every contact type can give production slots. Trade contacts are good for colony subsidies, cheap shite and... that's it. Very handy if you want to do an 'above board' (no black market) trader run.

I want to try this. Anything has to be better than trying to protect my allies' home worlds from being invaded by the Hegemony every other month. Sindria seems to have forgotten the "military" part of "militaristic dictatorship". Thank God the Persean League can actually handle their own problems and actually provide me some back-up. Love this game so far and the mods have added that little bit of extra depth that I wanted. Also, love your vids man! Keep it up!
I feel ya. Fuck the hegemony and being so much stronger and more aggressive than everyone else. I go out to kill 1 bounty or look for 1 old tech cache and they invade two planets. Fuck.
Pro tip, every time you trade with a faction, if you pour money into its open and military markets, you strengthen that faction. The more money you pour into the black market, the more it will destabilize it, and make it more likely to get raided by pirates (if the faction is hostile to them, if not, another faction). On top of that, I'm quite sure factions don't like it when other factions have their equipment, so if you sell some ships or weapons from one faction to another, pretty sure you can worsen their relationship like this (they will either go to war or just suffer a standing penalty amongst themselves). Suppose you got a system with a pirate station, a pather planet, and two factions hostile to pathers, but there is a difference, one is hostile -50, other is vengeful -100 with pathers. If you trade with pathers (even on the black market, though the benefit to pathers isn't as much as if you were pouring money into their military or open market), then that will weaken then factions that are hostile with them in the system, but the effect on the faction that is vengeful will be doubled. With Nexerelin, not even joking, I found that with survey and analysis missions and trading and killing derelicts, I can actually consciously influence how the factions interact and all that. So, say, if I want to weaken the hegemony, I could go, sell them a bunch of weapons from other factions to worsen their relationships, buy as much as I can from their black markets, making pirates target them for raiding. Then, in any system they have a presence, you trade with their black markets and with their enemies open and military markets. Congratulations, you are now a successful "negotiator" type agent that is puppeteering the factions from behind the scenes. If you get caught smuggling or buying stuff on black market and lose your rep, just loiter in their systems till you get a quest for a probe or a ship or a station scan. The most difficult thing to do is to try and cause all factions to be in stalemate, not changing much from their initial state, as doing that basically makes it so you cannot make profit. Essentially, the less conflict you either sow or engage in, the less profit you will make, but it can be safer for exploring if you're nonhostile to remnants, pirates and independents. Sorry for necroing with my comment, but I just felt like sharing my observations.
You know I find ballistic weapons in space funny, the idea youd shoot slugs will potentially fly through space infinitely gaining speed and when it finally hits something it will either vaportize a section of it or in its entirety
This might be considered heresy but with the console commands mod you can have it search all markets in the sector for whatever weapons or ships you want and if it doesn't have it you can refresh the goods of all markets
I know this video is pretty old but there was/is a mod that let's you scan all markets for every item so you can see where a gun/ship is currently available. Only problem is you need to be fast because sometimes items get sold before you have any chance to get there in time.

Those weird bob-and-weave derelicts around 7:10 are what made me reconsider my life as a bounty hunter. Not sure how exactly you're supposed to approach them, but my Aurora had a really hard time with no HE weapons :(

Bear is an old Varya's Ship Pack ship. Personally IMO Derelict Empire mostly suffers from the fact that there's like 5 vanilla Derelict ships and very few mods that give them any love. HMI (where the weird timejump ship about halfway through the video comes from) is one of the only ones that really gives them anything. I remain convinced that the Rampart is one of the most underrated ships in the game (Automated Ships skill is basically only good if you have a Radiant waifu... *or* a harem of 5 Ramparts), but one underrated hull can only take you so far.
Idea for a rimworld playthrough, ce, fog of war, realistic darkness, a flashlight mod and rimcity, crashlanded/tribal start, the objective is to eventually take over a whole capital, with those mods combat, and in particular night and urban combat, will be quite hard and intense.
Empty hardpoints make me sad ;) Have you tried Industrial Evolution? It adds some special market buildings on some planets that let you source more weapons. Plus tons of other fun stuff, not to say you'll agree with me on every addition in said mod.
He has Indevo already, the wormhole generator is from that mod ;) Also I guess the idea is to simply bank it all on the space station for defense and not have to pay for the other stuff.

The tactical bombardment you did on Nepheria, the arid world you invaded, caused pollution. Which increased the planet's hazard by 25%, which in turn increases upkeep on all industries which decreases profits. Moral of the story, don't use terrorism on habitable worlds if you like money.
Industrial Evolution. It falls under the category of Derelict Industries that you can find in high-remnant activity systems. However, the ruins are a bit RNG in what they can be repair into, so it might take you a few attempts.
When you colonie is level 3 you can have 1 industrie. Wheb it is level 4=2 industries. Level 5=3 industries Ns finally level 6 =4industries. When upgrade level of your colonies by having growth % that add up each month until it reach 100% and then it level up

I found a good trick for avoiding AI inspections. I call it "not having AI cores in my god damn colonies". It works really well.

If you need to succeed on an invasion, but don't feel like using ten thousand marines, a Bombardment or two could help. Or ten.
