I've never been able to grow strawberries and now I know why. I was doing everything wrong. Your video is the first one I've seen growing them from dried roots. Thank you so much! For the first time I'm confident in being able to grow them. This video was so great!
I wish I had found your video before I bought the plants (18 for $45)...I'll know next time. Now I'm going to watch your container potato video to see what I'm doing wrong :) Thanks!
I ordered my strawberry plants my big Spurge this year they come in May here in Michigan.
Strawberries 🍓🍓🍓👏
Hello, I'm so disheartened, but I'll try again ... I bought the Walmart Bare Root Package back in March 2022 and just stored them away in my laundry room. Today, 5/4, I opened them and planted them in a hanging basket. After coming on YT and seeing that the bare roots had some green on them (mine were totally dry!!) ... I almost pulled them out, but your video saved me from doing so! Thank you and NEW SUB!!👍
Im in Virginia too!!!!!!! I'm in Smithfield. I just love your channel. You are such a sweet person. Your aways positive. We need more people like you!
I’m added bunch of new items to our little garden 🪴 🍓
I bought mine from winco but didn't know about the rubber band. Going to dig them up thanks for the tip
Update: you save my strawberries. I had 10 and found the rubber band
Same. I buried the whole thing 😮
Hello Randy, Great video that I definitely needed. I am growing strawberries this year to add to my fruit orchard on the other side of my yard with my new blueberry and raspberry bushes. I saw your video from 2019.I purchase 2 packs at Walmart along with the $1000 strawberry collection bag with both red(eversweet) and white (white carolina); I am growing these in honor of my father-in-law who grew them and made strawberry wine every year until he had to stop due to his health.. He passed away in 2016. You are the best and I love you back! Thumbs up.
Thankyou Randy! I want strawberries now!
So glad you did this Video I bought the same thing from Walmart and have been thinking about how to go about it
Did you catch the brand? I am looking online and don't see anything similar.
@@tranitarandolph7979 The brand that Randy used are sold at Walmart called Quinault (Everbearing) strawberry 10 roots for $3.00. I purchased 2 packs myself. Hope this helps.
Love your energy, thank you for the knowledge share :)
Too funny honey! Love your energy and your tips.
Thanks for the content! Always informative and enjoyable. My everbearing strawberries were still ripening berries in the fall. Not a lot, but some!
Hi Randy! 🤗 A very beneficial video and tips for growing bare root strawberries!👍 🍓🍓
Stay blessed and safe! 🦋3/10/2021🦋
Got me that pack from Home Depot for $5. They had started growing in the packs.
Thank you for that info. I'll be headed there tomorrow. 🌱😊🌱
I got mine from Lowes last month and they aren't looking good. Maybe root rot
Most of the quanuilt bare root strawberries from home depot are dead. I bought some in 4 different home depot location all of them look dead roots all dry im disappointed. Bought some Ozark beauty bare root from Lowe's those looked alive and growing in the bagg. I guess you get wat u pay for
@@Gkrissy exactly most of these are all dead. U will get lucky if u find a good bag
@@mauriciodiaz1310 I am only buying live strawberries now from ace hardware. I bought 4 live ones recently.
Thanks so much I think last year I buried the whole thing, lol
What state are you in. I am new to gardening. States or zones matter.
Thanks ..I didn't know that about the clipping the flowers and waiting on some berries ill watch thatand make sure to if needed ..
Thank You Bro.... Package has zero info on it.
are you high?
Thanks again Randy...youre right on time! I brought these today & you just happened to make a video❤ cuz I ain't got no money to be wasting on no 🍓😂 #zone6b
I wish I would have seen this a year or two ago when I planted some bare root strawberries. I had no idea what to do. I probably buried it too far. Nothing grew from it. Thanks. Now I know what to do if I try again!
Planting those Walmart strawberry roots is one thing. Getting them to grow is another. I planted 20roots last year and got NOTHING! So, I just bought 2 living plants & may order more online from a grower. I was disappointed.
Same here! You have to get the ones at the right time and them plant them right away.
I bought two bags when they first put them out and I still couldn't get them to wake up. The Walmart strawberry bare roots suck
I already have 30+ plants alive though so that will double this year anyways. Not worried about them not waking
Indeed they DO!!
I just had to go back to the store because my June bearing strawberries only had 5
Thanks!!🪴🍓
Now, what do I do with them??
I’m in 8A in SC. 70’s daytime. 30 & up nights.
I don’t have any space left in the house, no garage or greenhouse.
Thank you for the info cause I that i got got !!😅 it’s my first time so I guess I’ll Keep them 😂
Thank you for the video! What kind of soil mix did you use??
See here you go again got me out here buying strawberries roots. I brought some last year and they didn't do nothing at all. So I'm trying them again and hopefully they do nothing. But this time I'm gonna make sure I soak them in water.
I'm not sure what I did wrong with mine it's been a month since I planted mine and there's no new growth or anything...maybe they were dead when I got them?
I bought some online, and only 2 out of 25 plants have shown any growth after a month.
Thank you so much for this video
Hey Randy!! Thanks for the content and your awesome attitude. You always cheer me up. Getting my berries this week so perfect timing. You’re the truth brother
Let me go get mine out the planter, I stuck the entire ball in there...smh
Thanks Randy!I am planting strawberries. I am glad I watched your video, I would have buried the entire root..lol
Oh man. I needed this video this time last year. Someone gave me some strawberry roots like this and I just shoved the whole thing in a pot of soil. Geeze. By some miracle I still have strawberry leaves. But at least I know better now.
Thank you for sharing what you know. Seeing just what it takes to get started helps. I have only planted strawberries once, the first garden I planted. Stray or wild rabbits took them all. I love strawberries and grew up with fresh strawberries from my Grandpa’s garden. I started my garden in memory of him. Your energy and videos are just what I need to encourage me to keep trying new plants and keep expanding my garden.
Thank u
Mine looked dead and I couldn't sperate the 10 plants they where so tangled that I gave up and planted it as is 😂
Root rot not just dried out
I saw these at Lowe’s. I’m going to try them.
Hi Randy, I just found your channel, while trying to figure out how to plant my walmart strawberries. Your information was exactly what I needed, plus I love your attitude and energy, I'm now a subscriber, looking forward to watching all your other videos!

💜🍓🍓🍓🍓💜
Thanks!! Very Helpful 🍓🌿🍓🌿
Thank you Randy! The crown is above the ground! I just bought a 10 pack yesteday. Perfect timing! Will get this in my stacking planter tomorrow. Now I know what and how to plant with them. Thanks again!! Be blessed!
Virginia strong💪 we are in the 434 area and I just started my plants indoors
Congrats on the new puppy friend!!! 🐶 He needs a moment on camera so we can see him and say hello 👋🏽😊👋🏽
Thanks for this video. I bought an everbearing strawberry plant last year and she produce a few berries but now I know I had the crown down too low. Fortunately she is back and I’m gonna repot her 😉
Thank you for doing this video. I love strawberries but I think I got em buried to deep!
Hello, Randy! Great video with perfect timing! Thanks! Have a great day everyone
Saw a dollar store laundry basket with holes that was suggested as a strawberry pot. Thoughts?
I bought the bare root strawberry planted them but only 1 grew. Going to try some place else for plants
Thank you so much. . I’m going today and buy some.
I was planting these today impeccable timing. Thank you so much!!! Straight to the point and kept it simple I appreciate that!
Happy to see your smile. Thanks for the tips on planting the bulbs
Great video mate have grown strawberrys from seed
I live in New Jersey what zone am I in and when can I plant
Fun and informative! I may try strawberries this year :)
Wow...just planted some this weekend!
Hi Randy, welcome to my kitchen.
Thanks 🙏 a lot . It was very nice 👍
I look forward to your videos every day. Thank you!
thank you Randy. You are helping me for a good season
Hey their Bro blessing
I love country living.
You are such a joy! We love you too.
Randy, you did everything right from what I have seen on UA-cam and what I did the last two years. I got my crowns from Tractor Supply ... did exactly what you did and have 10 crowns in pots of two different varieties -- one June-bearing and one ever-bearing. Later in the season, maybe you can make a video explaining to people how to pot up the runners for the following season.
Another tip to people - do NOT buy roots that seem to be dry. Make sure the seem moist. If they seem dry it is hit or miss - they may still be viable or may be dead.
@@jefffarris1288 thanks for the tip because the quilt at Lowes was so dry but have viable signs of small leaves and that was like February and no growth. I am going to try to exchange it for a moist pack
My husband told me I could get in trouble for doing this. Thanks for sharing PhalPal and Happy Growing from your PhalPal Durrell ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏿🇺🇸
I needed some love today! And in Fl the bare root 10 pack strawberry pack is $10.
Thieves
That means the store is making a profit off the consumers, $1 per strawberry root. Wow!!!
Rarely see blacks growing food. You have really good positive bright spirit. Thank you so much. Make my day...❤️❤️❤️
