I appreciate the type of positive language you use. You don’t say “it’s very important to do this” and “make sure you don’t do that” (at least the first 3 minutes so far). Some content creators instill some fear when they those things. Thanks!
Great video showing how easy it is to plant strawberries! I love bare root plants and trees and just added a new strawberry bed recently. Strawberries make an excellent breakfast when I'm outside watering in the mornings. 😊
Well, we may have to wait a little while...snow today and the high temps will be below freezing most of the week. But they sound delicious. (Wait, where was Stanley the Star?)
One nice thing about bare roots is that they are still basically dormant so you can plant them as soon as the ground is workable, even if there is still frost in the forecast. So once it thaws out, you can plant away! :)
Mine just came in the mail!!! I am in zone 5 and I may be moving next fall so wondering if I could plant in a stacked pot or pots. But am I better off to plant outside and then dig up?
Yay! Nothing is quite as fun as getting plants in the mail! You can absolutely plant them in containers and, in fact, strawberries do great in containers. It will also be much easier when you move to relocate them. Just be sure that you give them a good size pot (at least 8 inches deep) and plenty of good compost mixed into the potting mix. Happy planting!
@@RootedRevival Thanks! I am going to start making my own compost, getting chickens so that will be great fertilizer, but any thoughts on bagged compost for this year?
@@tammygillettVictoryGarden I really like Charlie's for bagged compost! They use chicken manure (antibiotic free) and it is really great quality so you don't need to use a ton. It's linked here (along with some other composts that I like) in the supplies I recommend for my seed starting soil mix if you are interested: kit.co/RootedRevival/seed-starting-soil-mix
❤ You made a great presentation on how to do this process. Thank you!
That was very therapeutic listening to you. Hope I’m going to enjoy some tasty strawberries 🍓 this summer 🙏🏿

Great advice! I’m old, been gardening forever, have never heard that about the crowns! Thank you!

We end up eating most of ours right in the garden too! 😋
Thanks a bunch
Great video, thank you!
Thank you my friend
I'm doing exactly today

Thank you, this is my first time planting strawberries and I think I’m doing everything wrong

Mine died twice I think I buried the crown, hopefully next year I will do better
Got it. Keep that crown out of the ground!
Thanks for the video ! What spacing (on center) are you doing / recommending ?
