No, it's far worse in Oz than here in the UK. I've driven probably 15,000Km on their major routes on our various holidays in Oz so have seen it, and had to deal with it, first hand. Yes, it is bad in the UK but no-where near as bad as down under. And the legality of it being OK on any road under 80Km/h (apart from the ones with regular signs saying "keep left unless overtaking") is just bizarre.
@@BadDriversOz I very well know that..... 32 times the land mass of the whole of the British Isles and I've driven a lot of it on all our various holidays down under. Probably nearly 15,000Km in total. It seems that you have the same right hand lane hogging problem as we have in the UK.
@@BadDriversOz Yes, you absolutely do. Doesn't matter if its legal or not.
Last time was Perth to Adelaide, including 1,650Km across the Nullabor and the only safe bit about that was there was no outside lane for anyone to hog (apart from a little bit of dual carriageway east of Norseman).
(overtaking the roadtrains was, however, a different issue....)
But your lane discipline issues are far worse than the UK - and we are far from perfect.
@@BadDriversOz Yep, well aware - although our "imports" are from a different part of the world to yours...
Anyway, stay safe and just keep to that inside lane (unless overtaking) !!!
@@BadDriversOz I guess we will have to agree to disagree.
Over here I spend my time in the inside lane unless overtaking.
And I do drive at the speed limit, sometimes slightly above, unless our weather says otherwise.
The lane discipline in Oz was my worst hate.
I love the way that on some of your single carriage way A-roads you add an extra lane on the left every 10-20Km so people can overtake (A1 in northern QLD being an example) but 90% of you stay in the outer lane at well below the speed limit forcing me to use the extra lane to "undertake".
I really hate doing that because, in the UK, it's effectively illegal (only allowed in slow moving traffic).
Otherwise, I love your country, never had an Aussie who was anything but friendly to us, but I wish your hire cars had dashcams..... (Blackvue 750s's on both of our up here).
