My thanks to Honeycomb for providing a review sample. - Ігри
My first look at configuring reverse thrust for the MSFS default airliners. I will be following this up in the not too distant future with another video for the props. Thanks for watching. If you missed by hands on review of the Honeycomb Throttle Quadrant you can catch it here: ua-cam.com/video/xQG5eAp_qjc/v-deo.html
Will you be doing another video for the A320NX Fly-By-Wire?
Can't find the Propeller reverse for MSFS in your channel
@@truthfilterforyoutube8218 I have a number of them on my channel page. Here’s an older one ua-cam.com/video/MjovDdueafI/v-deo.html
You're a lifesaver, Mark. Combined with (actually reading) the documentation for the FBW A320 section on auto-braking, this is a huge step forward. Thank you!
Good day, I just purchased the Honeycomb Bravo throttle, so far I’m extremely impressed. I was having a lot of trouble setting up the flaps (as you suggested in your video) because there appears to be no longer an option of -100 to 100% flap access after one of the sim updates. A user on the MSFS forum suggested to search for the Flap handle axis first (search for the input while moving your flap lever), once the flap handle axis is determined, map the found flap handle axis to Flap Axis (Reverse selected). This worked well for me. Cheers and thank you for your great and very helpful videos.
Just bought the throttle quadrant today! Thank you so much for encouraging me to buy it.
Thanks for sharing Mark, we, the subscribers are very grateful for the amount of work and time it takes you to produce the informative video's. I hope I get mine before Christmas. 🤞 The honeycomb yoke is a game changer and the throttle quadrant will only add to the enjoyment. Roll on the HP reverb G2. 👍
Hi Heath, thanks for your support, much appreciated. Stay safe.
I spent 4 days trying to make my throttles and reverser work, none of the videos on UA-cam helped me except yours. Well done and keep up the good work. Frustration was overwhelming that I thought my honeycomb was broken.
Thank you very much, a real life saver, I would never have thought of this myself. I dealed pointless with the settings until I came up this tutorial. Works on the brave old CH throttle quadrant in the same matter. My CH throttle quadrant is from around 2005 and still works like a charm with MSFS2020, literally bulletproof. Thats what I like about ch products. Think it simple then build it well. So everyone who is looking for an quadrant and not willing to wait for the Bravo, keep your eyes open.
Thanks a million for the excellent lecture & demo! One little tip: I found it the easiest way to apply te “throttle cut”- command to program it with the “thrust reverser lever with the “button release” function.
You always cover exactly what I need and never leave anything out. Thank you 🙏🙏
You're a lifesaver Mark! Thank you for your videos!!
Another brilliant informative video on mapping.. its the small details of frustration in the sub menus that you have covered also for everyone.. this channel is awesome and so informative Mark 👏 👍. Anyone that has the alpha and bravo, and struggling will really appreciate this.
Absolute gold. I will be mapping my Bravo Throttle Quadrant exactly as you described. Thank you.
Thanks Mark! I had hoped Honeycomb would create axis that would continue past the rear detent. I was thinking this would permit variable reverse thrust like actual aircraft. That said what they’ve produced is an amazing accomplishment!
Agreed, you can create variable reverse thrust, but not realistically, by using the reverse levers to toggle reverse thrust on, and then moving the levers forward on the axis. Not a great solution though. Stay safe.
Thanks so much for making these videos! They are very informative!
Thank you for your instructions man, they really helped me configure my Honeycomb Throttle with my a320. You're a great instructor. Salutations from Seattle, WA USA.
very clear explanations and simple procedure to follow -- including some pitfalls and mistakes to be avoided. very well done and thank you.
Brilliant! Thank you for the Airbus config...I like it!
Thank you for this video. I just got my Bravo today and was trying to set things up.
Excellent work Mark. Thank you.
Thanks very much for the in-depth process, Very helpful for me to set it up.
Wow! This was brilliant. I still can't get my hands on a HC Throttle though.
Sir you made this video dummyproof. Posted 2 years ago but I could not find it but finally I found it :D Thank you very much. I had problems to set it up and it was because I used HOLD REV option but now I know!
Best video i have ever seen on how to configure.. Great Job!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you..
Gosh, you are great!
Your explanations are flawless!
Thank you, sir.
Thanks very much Mark. Once again it's an awesome video you're offering us. You're precise compete. As you I don't plan to install FSUIPC since MSFS is a modern sim wich is self-sufficient. Now we are waiting for the pre-odered BTQ to land : it's long, very long.
reverse thrust especially in the turbo props is a life saver especially on those really difficult lands like the one on the side of that island you can do on that caribean island with the king air with the runway thats like so short if you dont land just right and hit reverse thrust at the right time you go right in the drink
With big jets (like 747) it is a brake saver :-)
Well explained Marc. Thank you👍
this was really helpful. thank you so much!
Thank you, couldn't get the reversers figured out for the life of it!
Thank You for such excellent information - presented in such an excellent way...!
Thanks Michael 😀
Best video ever!!!
Thanks alot for those instructions!👍
Thanks for the great explanation!
Just something to add if you are flying the A320 you can map throttle cut to button 26 and 27 by themselves as well. This means that you can turn off reverse thrust by pushing the reverse levers forward without also having to move the throttle forward.
Thank you for the video! Can you show this for P3D as well? I think it is a bit more complicated as you have to control via these strange commands?
Thank you Mark, this was very helpful.
Great video
very easy and nice !
Thank you for this great tutorial 👍
Thank you very much for this video! I exact was looking for this!
Thumbs up once again ✈️🇸🇪
Thank you 😁
Thank you Mark.
got lucky my local retailer has one planned to arrive tomorrow
UPDATE: Pushed back to mid-February 2021 delivery, I ordered it in August :(
Excellent& informative, thank you sir!
Thanks for watching 😁
Thank you very much! I got mine yesterday, and got the RT working, but increasing thrust by pushing forward. I`ll re-map the way you described in this video. Excellent! Subscribed to your channel
Plus, here is my latest config in case your into 737 from PMDG ua-cam.com/video/ocOBFH5rOqo/v-deo.html
It is done. Thanks again for great advises! Just downloaded the pmdg, and it looks and feels like a charm. Now added saitek pro pedals and Tobii tracker 5. It takes the sim to a new level for sure. Some adjustments, but it's totally worth the time. Now i'm thinking of rtx3090 instead of my rx6600...not cheap though. Thanks again
Just waiting for the bonus check that will allow me to build the system I want for MSFS (which should crush most other games as well) and find a way to pre-order the Honeycomb yoke/throttles to replace my CH stuff.
I found a bit of an annoyance with the Bravo regarding that small red button. It only works if the lever is in the second slot from the left (or in any other "throttle" slot, not the spoiler slot). If it's in the far left, where you have your spoilers, it doesn't work. I found this out because I use a 3D printed flap detent mod which takes over the 5th slot, requiring me to move all throttle levers over one position for a 4 engine setup. Just sharing this in case anyone else is running into the same problem. Otherwise, this setup works very well. Thank you for sharing!
thank you :)
I found a cure for my under powered problem after a re-install,I had always used the legacy option for controls and out of sheer desperation I changed it to modern. All of those problems went away and all GA aircraft now operate smoothly............................
Great news, glad it got sorted. Regards
I got the reversers to turn off when the reverse thrust button is release by configuring the same button to Throttle Cut but Action Type set to On Release. For some reason I had to repeat the same option in both the left and right boxes for the Throttle Cut option. I don't know what the difference is between the two.
Very Good Video! I would like to See a Video using the AP knobs on the bravo. Is everything working as it should? Hdg v/s etc Greetings
Good idea! I’ll add it to the list 😁
Thanks Mark 👍🙏🏻✈️
Hi Lee, thanks for the view. Stay safe. Regards
Hi Mark, this is a great, practical guide. Ordered mine months ago, can't wait to "get started". What do you expect the drivers to take care of, besides preset controllers? Also, been thinking what to map those extra toggles on the throttle body to, maybe that's worth a future video?
Hello, I expect the drivers to mainly provide a way to map in the annunciation panel and other lights. More vids coming up 😁
Should be noted, they add actions for button presses, ie "on press" and "on release"
I just set mine up so that "on press" of the reverser, it decreases throttle thereby activating the reverser...
and I made "throttle cut" an "on release" for the SAME button.
This way it works exactly like it should, you activate it, it goes full reverse thrust. You release it, it cuts the throttle completely.
hi great videos , i calibrated the mixture but it keeps moving to cut off position when i tested any hints on why the throttle works ok
Check this out, it may help ua-cam.com/video/MjovDdueafI/v-deo.html Sounds like you have the mixture configured to the wrong axis. If you go to my channel, link in the notes below the video, there is also a jet config video. Regards
I ordered the airbus throttle but after seeing this I canceled and now will order the bravo great video very informative.
Good luck finding one at MSRP now
@@SIMRIG412 I'm in no hurry so when people calm down I will purchase one at the proper price
No word on any other orders from honeycomb. And took them how long for this to release 😂 another batch will take them 1year at this rate.
thx
very usefull. thank you very much!
Your welcome. There are more videos on the bravo and setting up for MSFS on my channel page. Link in the notes below the vid 😁
Do you notice a slight grinding sound when spinning the trim wheel? Mine does in 1 little spot debating on rma or just deal with it.
Not noticed on mine. Regards
Awesome video! This helped me a lot.
Could you please tell me how you got blurred/transparent edges on the quadrant video clip, or point me in the right direction please? Looked for tutorial videos online and haven’t had any luck.
I cropped the image and then blurred (softened) the edges to give that view in Davinci Resolve. Regards
Can't find the Propeller reverse for MSFS in your channel
Have you done a video on scenaitivity
Hello Marc,
could you also make a video for the settings of for example a Cessna?
Regards
Coming up soon 😁
Hi Marc just wondering if you have the Milviz PC6. If so have you been able to configure power management onto the Bravo console?
No I never got that one I’m afraid.
Can I assign the red button on engine one to TOGA MSFS 2020?
This little red button is supposed to be the TOGA switch, more than useful. Can't you map throttle cut to the ''release'' of the reverse button ? I think you can with some utility like joy2key, but you will have to use a keyboard bind to link joy2key to fs
Having just followed you video to the letter I seem to have an issue with throttle control lever 1. The sim is not seeing the reverse throttle. If I set it manually rather than scanning to button 10 this makes no difference. I have used throttle level 3 instead and this solves the issue. Is this a faulty switch or have I missed a step? Thanks in advance.
Check out this video, it may help. ua-cam.com/video/E06yP5g90eY/v-deo.html
Thanks, but for me that last movement of the levers down doesn’t do anything. Any ideas?
Wonderful video. Based on your experimentation with the throttle quadrant, do you think it would be possible to mimic the TBM930 feather low-high throttle movements?
Hello, I will be doing a video for the props...and yes it can mimic the feather movements 😁
@@SimHangerFS Great news! I'm looking forward to your next video. I'm on the preorder list, and can't wait to make this a reality!
Would be awesome if you could do this for P3D!
Anyway I convince you to make a video on how to configure A310 reverse thrust and thrust increase using the same boeing controls? I can't seem to figure it out :(
For the time beeing it is impossible to map the thrust reverser cut via the red button on the thrust lever. There is no reaction what so ever. Not able to map thrust reverse on nr. 1 and nr. 2 either. It worked before 😞
For the 787 the reverse hold sounds like it would stop reversing as soon as the reverse is released
You just need to nudge them forward slightly. 👍
Nice one, Mark, thank you. I'm eagerly awaiting the first delivery to NZ, so hopefully my pre-order will be somewhere near the top of the heap. Just as a point of interest, do I win a prize for noticing the 787 on your background image is reversed? If there is a prize, then I'll settle for the Honeycomb Airbus Throttle Pack when it becomes available. Thanks once again, and stay well to you and all your followers.
😂🤣😂
flying the A320NEO I find that it's pointless setting reverse thrust as it annoyingly does so anyway, automaticly if you pull throttles to far down anyway, on my throttle quaderant which is very frustrating when decreasing the throttle. if anyone knows a fix for this please let me know.
How do I assign my bravo throttle quadrant trim wheel for a A10 or 747 heavy?
Hi Dave, it is straight forward....note the trim wheel is NOT an axis.....assign ELEVATOR TRIM UP to button 23 (move the trim wheel whilst scanning anti-clockwise) and ELEVATOR TRIM DOWN to button 22, moving the trim wheel in the opposite direction. Hope this helps. Regards
Thanks so much...That worked!!!
Have they removed flaps axis (-100 to 100%) I can't see it
Did you ever post the video for setting up reverse props? I have two FSX SE GA aircraft I want to configure for that lower detent in levers 1 and 2. My trial and error has not worked. The two models are the Realair Turbine Duke v2 (TDv2) and the Carenado Cessna Caravan 208B.
Hi, no I have not done it yet, but will do so at some stage for P3D. Regards
I was able to achieve it for the time being in FSX SE by assigning the F2 key to the #1 and #2 Bravo lever movements into that lower range, and assigned the F1 key to the movements out of that lower range. It works. That done I have now completed my Bravo setup for FSX SE and am off to do the same in MSFS. I never adopted P3D along the way as up until August 2020 I was working with an over spec system. Thank you for your update.
Can you recommend a guide for non- airliners like the Cessna Caravan or Pilatus?
ua-cam.com/video/MjovDdueafI/v-deo.html
When will the airbus thrust levers be released
Good question. I don't know at the moment.
Thank you Mark for your documentation. I applied the settings for my pmdg 737 with Honeycomb as controller. When I am on the ground and doing parking engine tests everything works fine. The reverses too. But when I do aborted takeoff tests the controller freezes completely. No matter how much I search...I don't see a solution. I have not yet tested after a landing because I am in the installation and configuration phase of the software. Do you have an idea ? Many thanks in advance for your suggestions. Luc of Belgium 🙂
Sorry not sure what could be causing that
Thanks for the video, helped me a lot. But i have the problem when setting the Axis for the Throttle 1/2, when I go to the idle position in the quadrant, the A320 neo FBW already jumps to the reverse position. I have to move the physical throttles a bit up to be in the idle position in the sim and I dont know how to fix that.
Check calibration of axis in windows
@@SimHangerFS Thanks for your quick reply. Calibration seems fine for me, but no change in the sim. It just does not work :(
@@nibble21 ….sorry didn’t note it was the FBW model. There may be some bespoke settings used for this mod as it does use some non-standard (default) bindings. Can only suggest you check their discord or website.
@@SimHangerFS Hello mate, thanks for your help. I finally figured it out and want to share it here for any other ppl with this problem: You have to click on the settings in the EFB in the aircraft and then Sim options - Detents and uncheck the option "Reverser on axis". Merry Christmas!
Sadly this 787 setup doesn't seem to work in 2022. Any ideas?
I have a number of config guides on my channel dealing with different aspects. Page through the video tab on my channel page there may be more help there. Start with this one ua-cam.com/video/ocOBFH5rOqo/v-deo.html
hi Mark, I have my throttle set exactly the same as the video, but in the FBW A320 when I set the throttle to idle even before the flight detent it goes into reverse thrust, I dont seem to have had this problem with any other aircraft, any suggestions?
Hi Carl, the FBW uses bespoke controller calls. Also check the documentation for calibration of throttle (in-sim) advice for the FBW.
@@SimHangerFS thanks Mark, it was just change reverse axis switch in settings on the in plane tablet and now all working, thanks for replying
My newly purchased Bravo has 3 throttle slots, each with 3 connectors.
Correct. This is for reversers up/down and toga …subject to your config.
So if use the red button for reverse , what do use for the go around but
My use of the toga button was only as an example of the type of configuration possible, you could use any button, switch etc on your yoke or TQ. Regards and stay safe.
Use joy2key and map the ''release'' of the reverse button to a key combination as output. Then map this key combination to the ''throttle cut'' in msfs. And map the toga switch to....TOGA. 👌😄
when you come out of reverse thrust, you have to applay thrust anyways for taxi.
Thanks for a fantastic explanation sir. Only one question, how do you arm the spoilers in the A320 using the Bravo throttle?
You need to manually move it to arm. Regards
@@SimHangerFS You mean with using the mouse, sir?
@@Jojos25 yes unfortunately.
Anyone know why engine 1 powers down on its own? If I set power on engine 1 it for some reason powers back to idle!?
Turn off pilot assist functions in assistance options. Check you don’t have something else configured to T1 that is conflicting. Check sensitivity setting for that axis…you might need to create a small (5%) deadzone.
please configure reverse mode in cessna 208 gran caravan and pilatus pc6 thx
See my config for the Kodial 100
@@SimHangerFS Sorry, I did it and I didn't see the option to recognize the reverse mode using the lever.
Hello Mark, I had an issue when set up throttle 2 reverse for Airbus 320, suppose it should config at key 11 but it did not activate, other key is work fine. Please show me how to config or correct key set up. Thank You. PS: I used Bravo throttle Quadrant.

@@tcssmeetingvideos hi, I am working on it now, but struggling myself with some aspects. Hope to have it out within two weeks. Regards
As a retired 747 Captain, I was eager to get started with a flight simulator program so I could "get back up there" again. Unfortunately, I am a Mac user, and MSFS isn't available for that platform. So, I purchase X-Plane and the Honeycomb yoke & throttle bundle. All of your videos are for PCs. Have you ever considering making a few for us long suffering Mac users? If not, are you aware of anyone who has? Thanks in advance. Captain Al Francis -TWA-Retired
Hi, I don’t have a Mac so don’t know the configs, sorry.
Are the drivers all working now?
Have to wait for MSFS update 7 apparently. 😔
How about doing reverse thrust for p3d?
Working on it now
@@SimHangerFS Cool! Looking forwards to it! Keep up the good work!!!
In Feb 2022 just got Bravo and this doesn't work for Airbus reversers tried all options can't get reversers to work correctly with idle throttle. This might well be because they have since released more throttle levers for Airbus for us to buy! Also noticed some of the control options for throttle you mentioned are no longer available in MSFS.
I will soon be doing an update, waiting for sim update 8, which is out today.
Update is that I got the Airbus throttle levers today (and I did sim update 8 yesterday without issues), which work (reverse thrusters correct) as expected in the MSFS A320. I only had to set the throttle axis and decrease, but again this still does NOT work in the A320 FlyByWire version - the throttles go into reverse when coming down into idle. Even resetting again from scratch did not sort this, but at least they do work (I'll send this to FBW). Note £65 I think is a lot to pay for these Airbus levers but they are an improvement over the base set and I think we got a bargain with the Bravo set to start with (so only worth it if you are keen on the Airbus range).
Further update for Airbus levers with reverse thrust for A320NX by FBW - Yes you can set the detents for these using the flypad in the cockpit so that they work exactly as expected. The FBW sim is extremely well documented (incredible) and after a long page of troubleshooting steps, got the detents & levers to work correctly. Always check FBW doc if you are stuck as they have everything there!
How did you figure that those selections, which appear to have nothing to do with reverse, would work? Who in the world wrote up those descriptions in the first place? In what universe does "throttle cut" or "throttle decrease" have anything to do with reverse?????
Is idle reverse possible? Which is most common for Boeing aircraft?
Hi, not that I have been able to achieve, I don’t believe this is supported in default aircraft, we’ll have to wait for PMDG 🤞
@@SimHangerFS Thanks for the quick reaction. What do mean with we"ll have to wait for PMDG?
