    breakfast sausage→
    Ingredients
    * 1 cup textured vegetable protein
    * 1 cup beef-flavored vegetable broth
    * 1/2 cup chickpea flour
    * 1/2 cup vital wheat gluten
    * 1 teaspoon onion powder
    * 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    * 1 teaspoon paprika
    * 1 teaspoon fennel optional
    * 1 teaspoon ground sage optional
    * 1 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup
    * 2 tablespoons liquid aminos
    * 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
    Instructions
    * Bring vegetable broth to a boil. Pour over tvp, cover and allow to soak until absorbed, 2-3 minutes.
    * Stir maple syrup, liquid aminos and liquid smoke into tvp mixture.
    * In a separate bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients. Add wet mixture and combine. Knead for 3-5 minutes.
    * For small sausages, divide into 12-15 portions and roll into logs or patties. Alternatively, divide into two large logs. Wrap each portion tightly in cheesecloth or aluminum foil.
    * Bring an inch of water to a boil in a Dutch oven or wide pot. Arrange sausages on steamer insert, cover and steam for 30 minutes for small sausages, or 1 hour for larger logs. Add more water to the bottom of the pot as necessary.
    * If desired, brown sausages in a skillet with a little bit of oil before serving.

    Oh geez, what to make first. I get a little giddy when I see a new video up from you. That means that my meals for the next week will have some extra spark. Top of my list this week. Your "sausages", and brownies. Yum! Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos, it's appreciated. :D

    Oh that’s a great tip to remove the gooey parts of the tomato and cucumber if you’re storing it for a while! Thanks for these high protein ideas, the sausages looked easy to make and soo yummy! 😋 and I love that you can control exactly what’s in them!

    I love your style a lot and I'm glad every time you upload something new! And I love that you're doing meal prep!
    A few years ago I didn't use to meal prep weekly and I used to eat pretty bad. Now, even with a minimal meal prep, I can keep everything under control and I know that I have some good food just in case :)

    • @SarahsVeganKitchen
      @SarahsVeganKitchen  6 років тому +1

      It's super helpful! I usually do a more minimal meal prep too -- just one or two dishes or staples to mix in with other things. Really helps.

    • @MadalinaZbranca
      @MadalinaZbranca 6 років тому

      Exactly! Every bit of prep helps!
      I don't prepare every meal for the week either, just a few staples like my beans, sometimes other grains, maybe clean and cut some veggies... But it's a life saver!

    Omg you have the best videos! Def gonna try the breakfast sausage today! The only change I would make is adding sage. I used to love reg meat sausage with it. Then that pasta salad looks so good. I'm gonna make that too. Then the palak? Masala looks so good as well. I think I may try it with collard greens though. Thanks a million for all your great videos. You are my fav vegan youtuber!!

    Seriously, really great recipes. I can't wait to try that pasta! Yum! How do you store the sauages? And how long do they last? Can you do a video on how you came up with the macro number that you need to hit in each category? I really don't understand the whole counting macro thing, but... I hear it is a fantastic thing to do if you want to lose weight (body fat) and gain muscle.

    Hi Sarah! Loved the video but as a vegan recovering an ED I started watching your channel because you don't talk about calories/macros (with the except of 1 that I can think of) and so I could still count on having healthy/yummy recipes but without the triggering aspect of calorie counting/intense weight loss. Understandably I know a lot of people love to see the nutritional content of your meals though so I was wondering if you would consider putting the nutritional values in captions or something instead so that they can be avoided? Either way I will still love and watch your videos!! So cool to see you getting sponsored more and more and I'm excited that this channel is growing!!
