Hi. Nice review but two key questions: did they improve and boost the motors? Biggest issue with my om5 is that I cannot use heavier phones and especially ND filters. And did they make that tripod base steadier? The OM5 has a very flimsy base which makes it unstable as a tripod. From what I have seen this version looks like it’s nothing more than an OM5 with a couple of UX improvements...
I knew there was a reason I subscribed to your channel...ha ha ha! I came for the Avata content since I just ordered mine, and I stayed for content like this.

A brilliant review , I purchase the OM5 only 15 days , was really annoyed when I discovered this one has just been released , i've just spoken this afternoon to DJI and they have agreed to replace it with the new one OM 6 . well, pleased . lots of different upgrades on this one, a great improvement .
Don't get me wrong the Om5 was good this one definitely has a lot more quicker and a lot more convenient buttons as you have highlighted really well 👍👍👍 ....

I have too this om6 and I'm tottally disapointed. Limited movements, washed colors in mimo app, limited fps in 4k when my Note 10 plus gives 4k 60fps... i wont return cause I cant afford better.
@@MorningCoffeeDaily washed Out colours how can that be the blame of the device, surely that's a problem with your phone or the tablet you are using .... I have experienced no problems with mine what's the weather obviously keeping up with the software updates ..

Great video and very helpful. One small suggestion it would have been even better if you could have shown the footage from the gimbal for longer periods of time and put the commentary over that. I found the content really good and then it went back to you ;-) too quickly. Its amazing how far DJI have come from the original Wookong and the never ending flyaways and the terrible support. They really have seemed to have got their act together with some superb innovative products. I recently had a question about the Avata and I could not find the answer anywhere online despite the numerous reviews on line, I got a response with a clear answer in 2 days. Thanks for your great review though
I had a om1, loved the stabilization, hate the battery life, size and pain to setup every time.
When the battery became worthless, I tossed it all in the trash and have not bought another since, but after seeing your video review (thanks), I'll look at getting another as we get ready to travel (covid free restriction locations).
Yeah this one will be a massive upgrade over the original!

Hi I've got a Oppo X5 Find Pro with a 6.7" screen and have never had a gimbal before but I would like to ask if this would work with my Oppo X5 Find Pro smartphone and also if I use the extension is there a button on the gimbal to actually take the camera shot and also a button to activate the record button on video? Will the rode wireless go 2 connect to it for audio ? that all i need to know otherwise i need to buy another clamp for the wireless go again like my om 4. any chance you can confirm that and give us sound samples. Am disappointed they have not made it weather resistant at least too as i use mine for hiking shoots but if it rains i have to can it and go to my switch pod as its not water proof. The other user stuff looks good like gamble lock for when you shove in pocket is handy. But im not sure if enough to upgrade ?
The QuickStart is good but for me being able to switch modes fast using the new panel is the best feature, I’ve had it in the rain and no issues with it, personally I think it’s a good upgrade, well the om5 for a good deal and this is a good option, the rode wireless 2 can’t connect directly into a phone I believe without a cable. I used the dji mic which connects directly
Good to hear about the water resistance cheers. Yeah I have to use cable on my om4 for sound which sucks. But I won’t change my rode wireless go 2. Spewing I thought they might of allowed us to connect. I do have a solution tho when you’re giving them feedback . Clamps are painful. Can you aske them to make their own phone case for perfect alignment of magnets for the phone and also they can build into the case a hot shoe and led light system? Another product for them and will fix some painful issues
Can it do a floor level to high (sort of a mini crane shot) while keeping the same angle (Ie keeping the horizon steady)? I’ve heard that it can’t do that and frankly im SO confused because nobody will show that shot- it’s such a gimbal essential move?!? Can it do it or no?
I have a S22 ultra. The Osmo 5 seems a bit heavy. I looked at compatible phones on their website. I did not see the S22 ultra. Will the 6 work well with this phone? Thank you for the review.

I have a Samsung 22 Ultra.
I have one of the original Osmo Mobile units, and love it, but am concerned about the zoom wheel working with Samsung phones.
On the DJI site cellphone compatibility chart, it says for Mobile Phone Camera Control for Samsung says "Photo Capture, video recording"
Other phones say "Photo capture, video recording, front and rear camera switch, mode switch, zoom.
I need to know that the zoom wheel will work with my phone before I buy it.
Please advise.

Display is good, quick start, zoom/focus wheel is the biggest advantages and then active track has been improved

any difference in quality when taking videos and pics through dji app compared to native iphone app?
when shooting a time-lapse having Osmo in tripod mode, can you set the gimbal to slowly automatically rotate from left to right (or viceversa )to get some more dynamic effect?

You can do dynamic Timelapse yes and set rotations it’s really good on the Osmo app and the only thing I use the iphone camera app for when using the gimbal is cinematic mode
Is there a way to manually correct horizon without going into the app settings? I've had both previous versions with the magnetic mount and horizon is Never level when I connect my phone. Zhiyun has this feature where you can use the thumb toggle to correct horizon and it's something I've hoped DJI would add.
yeah you can manual adjust the gimbal in the settings
@@davee930 Yeah, I get that... But that defeats the purpose of the magnetic system being a fast setup. If your horizon is off almost every time you use it, having to go into the settings to correct is a non starter. My point is that Zhiyun has a mode to do this adjustment with the joystick without having to go into the menu. It's much faster and I wish DJI would do this as well.

This is a natural evolution. As you’ve pointed out smartphones have gotten a lot smarter and the cameras improved by leaps and bound. Having said that I still love my conventional cameras and just don’t use my iPhone 13’s camera. Weird ain’t it?
Ha..I just made a video talking about how Im stopping using my Canon camera and DJI Rsc2 for travel/hiking/adventures as its bulking lugging it around ,So I made video with just my iPhone 12 Pro Max and a simple selfie tripod (weighs nothing ) You can be creative with the iPhone as it has that great stabilization (I use 60 fps/30 fps ) But I am upgrading to the 14 Pro Max when 1 comes available ..Not sure if I need another gimbal but never know lol....great videos my man ,I been watching your channel past few months from the States (Boston Ma area) great info you give! Cheers Mate (learned that from my old neighbor ,he moved here from England..had a 69 Jag as well.! )

Hello. I bought a stabilizer to shoot an online stream of notes in my notebook. How do I do a full horizontal camera tilt? I need my viewers to see my hands and notes.

Yes it seems to go wider, my old clamp didn’t work well with cases, this one works better like my demo on my case

Hi Darren, considering this, seeing you have a iPhone 14 pro / max, does the arm of the gimbal intrude & get in the way of the shot when filming, maybe in ultra wide mode? I have the 14 Pro you see, just want your opinion if possible, then I’ll buy it.

Nope I thought that too, even in ultra wide you don’t get the motor arm in the shot. Good question 👍

The OM5 will carry a capacity weight of 290 g. iPhone pro max weight is already at 240 g Without a case or attachments. This is not to say that Gimbal will not work, only not as well. The motors will be struggling
@@Plymouthmusicschool Interesting. I weighed my iphone 13 Pro Max with Polarpro case and Polarpro ND filter attached: 328 grams. DJI support says this won't work on the OM 6, sadly. Will have to hope for a payload upgrade on the OM 7.

I can’t get past the clamp crushing the side buttons on my phone. Apple said over time it have adverse effects. The clamp is over my screenshot buttons. Have you noticed anything? Thank you.

I know it’s not a “feature” as such, but one of the common complaints users had with the OM4, OM5 was the base was slanted. Now I can’t be sure but it appears that the OM6 has a flat base or was that just an optical illusion from the camera angle

What I've always *hated* with DJI Active Track is the subject is always locked dead center during tracking.
Oftentimes you want to be tracking the subject but to have them framed off-center (following the rule of thirds, for instance).
Has this new DJI gimbal fixed this shortcoming?
No, but the Hohem iSteady V2 has. It allows you to position how far from the top of the frame you wish the top of the head to appear. In addition, the tracking is superb, as it does not use the phone's software. Hardware on the gimbal does the tracking.
5:34 that's one big No there. It doesnt move totally up front, you must bend some degrees the extension rod... that's such a bummer.. still figuring out how to work with mine.
My Samsung S21 Ultra can do hyperlapses
I also noticed the tracking still keeps the subject dead centre. Not great if you want to demonstrate something on your right or left and keep tracking on you

Yes def, the x3 is awesome but phones have much better video quality

payload is the same as the om5... why not give you a bigger payload as phones are just getting bigger and heavier?

I actually dislike the quicklaunch mode.
Especially for those moments when you HAVE to balance your gimbal because of the extra lenses you are mounting onto it.
How are you going to now balance properly without the motors already being turned on???
You can manually turn it off to do that
My om 6 arrives this monday. going to use my iphone 14 pro max, at 240 grams I’ve got 50 grams before it exceeds the gimbal weight limit…..whew!

I noticed at the beginning of the video you had the 14 Pro Max but during the video in all the footage you had like a 13 Pro on it. Is there a reason why you used a smaller phone? I have the 13 Pro Max and don’t want to waste the money if it struggles with the heavier phones.??? 🤔
It works great on both. I was testing it on both and worked fine but my pro max only arrived recently so wasn’t used on all the clips. You won’t have an issue on pro max phones
It's a real bummer that the front to rear camera cannot be switched while recording video. Seems it would have been simple to implement and how nice it would be to switch seamlessly from front to selfie at the push of a button. Instead you have to stop recording and then switch and start recording again. SMH
You may have your phone with you all the time but not a massive gimbal so defeats the purpose. The stabilisation in phones alone is good enough. It is a fair price though. I have just ordered the Osmo action 3 so that will be better for me I think
With my iphone 14 pro perfectly centred and using the widest lens one of the motors of the gimbal comes in view. Anyone else noticing this?

all of them have issues when you do panorama or time-laps, the pictures jump in your video. therefore useless
