Tough choice i want something for my bike content , the flow sounds way better i just really like the presets for the videos dji has and how it shows you what shots to get
Another of your vids. It is nice to have a guy older than Gen Y given tech reviews. Great stuff as always. The X3 and Go 3 make use of the desktop Insta360 software. I know the iPhone software is a must for the Gimbal. But when actually editing/processing the Insta360 Gimbal video, is there a desktop experience?
@@kimalibennett9468 The Gen Y and younger reviewers are riding motorcycles/ATVs, hiking mountains, sky diving, EXTREME skiing... Once you have a few should surgeries for sports you did in you youth -- tech at a slower pace. I'll get a shoulder replacement at 59 for something I did at 26 :-)
Great review. I was on the fence but your video convinced me to buy the insta360 flow. I have the insta360 rsone too so it will be easier to integrate in the editing. Question: do you think i can rig my RSone on the gimbal too. Use the clamp combined with a tyrap for safety. Will it work than?
I have a Flow. One facility I'm getting used to is using its tracking ability when using other camera apps. I love CinemaP3. Using the Flow app in Live mode enables tracking in other apps.
Wish I'd watched this before buying the Osmo. I'm a tech person and just have come to expect that I can learn any device easily. So I thought it'd be a quick learning curve but it was not that intuitive. The Insta looks a bit easier - and the small size is a big plus.
I did not buy insta360 flow pro this time cause the handle is too short . I got the hohem v3 …. Can u compare with insta360 flow pro … only advantage I guess is 360 turning of the gimbal
One issue I have withInsta360's Flow is that its app requires me to provide both read and write permission to my Gallery. This is a concern since it could potentially expose content not made using the gimble to un-intended manipulation or allow Insta360 to harvest my entire gallery for AI Training. In a worst-case scenario, it could impune the copyright status of the content I produce for commercial use. I want to know more about how Insta360 is accessing my gallery and what actions it is taking and how it is selecting files to manipulate. Insta360 needs to provide full and clear disclosure on this issue.
Why would they need to get access to read my files already saved or any saved pics at all? I won’t use anything or any app that REQUIRES me to allow them to have access to my gallery, or any other part of my iPhone files that are personal..Thanks for the heads up you saved me $$$!
Hi - I suggest you check on the manufacturer websites - here's the link for the Flow listing compatible phones - hope that helps res.insta360.com/static/32950ec45843e92265bbf5b6592e505a/Compatibility%20List.pdf
Great information! I have a question. I am a locksmith and want to record my hands picking locks? For instagram content. Will i be able to set rhe DJI to do this? These gimbals are super cool 😎
@TheTechPacker Hi, a tripod would do the job. I just thought the software and gimbal may be able to track my hands? Also, it could be handy if i use it when filming real-life jobs?
@CraigAndres dunno - you’d have to give it a try. My sense is that there won’t me enough range of movement. But I’m just guessing. Slow motion tracking would be good though maybe. The flow can do that.
I have the flow and am having the hardest time having it ONLY track what’s in my hand even when I try and step out of the frame- it still wants to track me the human instead of the object. I’ve even selected the object prior with putting a box around it before hand. Any suggestions??
Can you let me know if a DJI mic or Holly land mic receiver be attached while using the gimbal? None of the reviewers have covered that, I'm skeptical whether the gimbal will be able to operate properly,I think it might get stuck in the arm
Hey I gonna buy my first gimabal I ise Realme GT 2 pro(Android) I like dji om 6 as its grip is good. Could you please suggest me which one should I go for I sm very confused
Which gimbal would be better for tracking dogs? As well as the fastest tracking in terms of if an object is out of frame and then locks on straight away. Plus are both 360 rotation if something circled around it for tracking ?
Neither has 360 rotation - and am unsure about that speed tracking ability. I suspect you’d have to select the dog to track when in frame and then it will re-acquire fingers out of frame and the re-enters. I know the flow can do this and I’m 99% sure the OM6 can too. Either way, both are great - I personally prefer the Flow
Insta360 flow is disappointment! I bought mine and after trying and trying I could not get the files to have localization in iOS. I am gobsmacked on how reviewers online are not talking about this! It just doesn't make any sense! In iOs we need to authorise the access to localization information, but it never shows up in the pictures. I am returning mine! this is basic feature!
Honestly, I'm so fed up with those same videos where they just praise stuff they got for free, I can't trust any UA-cam reviews now. But your review stands out - you really focused on the insta360 flow's good points and pointed out the DJI OM6's flaws so well, I think I'll go for the one that's not hyped up so much (the one people buy without all the ads)
Errr - I think this is critical but not totally sure. Either way, I hope you got value out of it - even if it pushed you to the exact opposite opinion. Like I said though- both are good choices :)
hi there...I intend to use my iphone 15 pro max for social (vertical) content mostly...I have an older OM3 which can handle the 15 pro max (no case) ok...but I noticed that the phone got hot after using the DJI Mimo app...maybe it hasn't been optimized for the new iphones...in any case. I'm considering getting either a OM6 or the Insta 360...but I would like to use the black magic app to record 4k60fps apple log to an external 1TB SSD (Samsung T7) or maybe a fast USB (512 GB) so I wonder if I can use blackmagic with either of these gimbals...? Or I MUST use only the apps that the gimbals provide? I don't know much about these smartphones stabilizers. Thanks
These smartphone gimbals will have limited stabilisation capability using with other apps other than the one they are specifically designed for - you'll have to check the websites of the manufacturers for more details, or with Blackmagic.
@@TheTechPacker right...BlackMagic has lots of options for recording video...I want to record in Pro Res LT which is a more reasonable file size...not sure that either Osmo mobile 6 or Insta have any options or even allow for external video recording to an SSD. well...I got the Flow yesterday and is a nice gimbal but I will not t ake too much weight. So I can't use my Samsung SSFD with it. Maybe I could find a way to attach the SSD to the handle or something. The Flow can take up to 300grms. My phone 15promax with a ESR clear clase is 268grams (I weighed it with a scale) and the gimbal is ok. I think closer to 300 grams will be barely ok...over and nope...but I like the compact gimbal. I know I will use it a lot more than carrying a bigger one. @@TheFandangovideoguy hey man, thanks for the info. Thank you that was the best video I’ve seen on the gimbal yet
Glad it was helpful!
You didn’t mention anything about ergonomics. I reckon from the footage that the very short handle of the flow can lead to faster fatigue of the hand?
I don't find that, because the bottom part that extends out for the tripod can act like a handle extension too.
Great info. Thank you very much.
Love your reviews, I just subscribed 👍🏻

The Flows grip is too small...
