+WhyJay4X4 Great point! I have a long list of gear that I am picking up over time and will certainly look to the products that I've seen in action first. Not many places to see gear in real world use. Plus - met the crew at Overland Expo East last year and they were super friendly and talked through all my dumb questions with me. Got some really good feedback on the gear and was impressed with their knowledge and easy going nature. Great ambassadors for their sponsors for sure!
+NCtrail4R especially their tires I am broken between the bfg all terrains or the generals but every time I watch another episode it's like those tires can do anything
The Yotas shined brilliantly in that red mud. Toyota couldn't have made a better 25minute commercial. This episode was intense, 2nd only to the removal of that little girls tumor. Those slow motion river crossings were EPIC! Great Episode. Fantastic series. Thanks for sharing
Gentlemen... I would just like to congratulate y'all on a job well done. Nothing better than great friends sharing a trip over a like you all have in season two. And the way y'all work together speaks volumes about the character of your team. And to add, the two lovely ladies did a hell of a job themselves. What they have accomplished, most people can't even fathom. Great work everyone.
Im a little sad that you guys missed some great spots in Costa Rica, but it seems like you guys enjoyed your visit to this beautiful country as much as i enjoyed watching it!! And as we costarican say, pura vida!!
Thanks for everything you do guys ! I have been following you all for years an truly enjoy getting to watch you live my dream. I enjoyed this series just as much as the last and I couldn't wait to get home Wednesdays to watch you're stories unfold. Glad you all made it out safe an sound an back to you're families , guess I'll go back to reading old issues of overland journal till you all plan you next trip . Keep it up an never stop roaming !
Well I have to give it to ya gents, I just watched the 2nd season up to date. As an adventure enthusiast I find incredible joy watching your journey roll on. I am new to the world of road trip over landing as of this year, but as an Alaskan I've experienced the off road life style via dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, 4x4s, etc. my whole life. The adventure south to Patagonia has always been a dream of mine and the only way I want to get there is by driving. That alone makes for a great journey, but you guys have made it an unbearable itch with this channel and what you all are doing. I find your awareness and drive to explore and help, beyond human, almost a primal calling. I have to commend the Team 5 guys, extra-rural medical care is no joke and they handled that beyond the call of duty. I also want to give it up for the wives, those are some badass chica's you have there. Last you've made a believer out of me when it comes to the 4Runner. You guys are rock stars, literally! Safe travels!
Starting from the first episode yesterday and finishing today, I realy want to submit that the dream of my life is to join a team like yours guys. You did perfect job. Not just an adverdisment for cars, not just an off road expedition, not just traveling around and filming places and people but all together. Keep travelling!
Excellent episode! You guys did a great job of showing and explaining just how slick that mud was! I could almost (from my air conditioned office) feel the slick sensation under my chair in cubicle hell. Well done fellas!
finally.. some offroading. only took 11 episodes... u may have driven alot of epic roads/tracks on this journey but we didnt really get to see it until now. it took alot of episodes to get a sense of adventure imo. finally feelin it and enjoying it.
Seriously diabolical with the cliff hangers. Awesome episode guys! Had my heart going a few times considering I just recently experienced a roll over in my FJ80.
I like your adventures and your rides...I wish I can have those aftermarket parts for my 2015 4runner too and join your journey Team XO and T5...More power guys...and drive sake....GOD Bless you all.
+ExpeditionOverland Great episode! That Tacoma dominated that first hill; absolutely freight trained it hah. I'm looking to purchase a Tacoma soon. Have you guys ever heard of or used "Bubba Rope"? It works exceptionally well for recoveries. It's a kinetic rope; like a big elastic band. The recovery vehicle steps on it and builds some speed, the rope will then tension up and stretch. It'll reach a point where it'll sling shot the stuck vehicle free; in a nice and gentle manner. I bet you guys would find it quite handle for those muddy situations or the snow in your Alaska expedition. Can't wait to see the next/final episode! Cheers for Canada!
great work getting across that bridge guys. one tip though, you should be using rope blankets while winching/snatching for safety, incase anything lets go.
Really happy to see y'all finally gettin some. Next time spend two episodes of border crossings and 10 episodes of the off-roading instead of the opposite. Otherwise really great stuff and I always enjoy the narration.
+ExpeditionOverland for me this is the best episode ... You want to know why ... Because I'm from Costa Rica and actually I know hector ejejej .... Guys whenever you want to came back to Costa Rica and do some off road let me know ... I can get you on many roads and I know a lot of people the do 4x4 in here!! I am so happy to see all the nice comments on youtube about the trip on Costa Rica.
+ExpeditionOverland Good to hear, maybe it was just because there were no campfire camaraderie scenes like with the other folks you've met! Keep up the great work, I'm not looking forward to the "looming" end of this season! I'm sure I'm not the only one interested in next season!!
Well, so far I know I need two items to carry with me: Two pairs of Maxtraxs and two Kinetic Recovery Rope. I have most everything else for the time being.
My wife and I (and our GSD) took our Xterra on a random offroad trail near Peace River, Alberta. It turned into a quad trail with 2 feet deep mud and greasy wet hills with lots of trees and cliffs. Though it was completely stupid for us to go there alone, we somehow managed to make it out without winching. We had to get out several times and use trees as 'maxtrax', but we made it. Some of the most awesome memories we had. ...as a photographer I'm pissed that I didn't take pictures, but that was because I was too busy not losing our truck in the bush. The best memories are not the easy straight and narrow paths, but conquering the curveballs that life throws us when failure is not an option. -James Walper Libertarian Party of Canada
I do not like the Hanging thing. Great work. I Drove the Labrador HWY This Spring. The worst part was in Quebec. Just before you get to the Iron Or Plant. If it had Rained when I was there, I might not have made it through with 2 wheel drive. Blessings .
Hindsight is 20/20 but honestly after that slippage, I would've just backed off & waited out the rain. Was not a smart move to get the whole truck on the bridge ESPECIALLY after the unpredictability of traction was demonstrated. Even /w the front/back winched straight, truck could've slipped to either side easy. Not to mention the unpredictability of all the other bridges after the first one. You guys got lucky.
I'm having so much fun watching this! My wife & daughter & I are planning a year+ mixed tarmac & gravel trip around at least North America, hopefully into Central & South America -- we'll make that call as we get more comfortable with life on the road. This is super inspiring. I was wondering if you have a list of your photo/video gear anywhere? Your production is top-notch and obviously I'm not going to come close to that, but I'd love to at least know the outlines of what you use for a trip like this.
+Russell Colbert the 4runners pulled the tacoma equally as much i would say its just how the footage worked out. The 4runners performed great overall. Tire pressures would have made a bigger difference on the 4runners. the Tacoma was at 20 psi. Thanks for watching Russell!
+ExpeditionOverland If you guys decide to continue into South America, let me know! My dad is in Colombia and he has a 1998 Cherokee. I am sure he would be more than happy to help you guys find places to stay, or find places to see.
I'm crazy about your videos. The footage is amazing quality, and the whole crew is extremely intelligent. I'm in the process of purchasing a 2016 Tacoma TRD Off Road Series. That's how I stumbled upon your videos. I've been trying to watch all of the videos these past days. The main question I have for you guys, which I can't seem to figure. How do you guys maintain gas in the trucks. Your traveling far distances, through remote wilderness forever, it seems, and these trucks are gas guzzlers.
awesome! I would love to do this with a group of my buds. U gotta quit leaving us hanging at the end of every episode. Trust me we are gonna keep watching without that.
Did Adrian ever get stuck? You never showed him being helped except over the bridge in the beginning. I know this is "your" show and was interested if he never got stuck because this is his home turf and he knows it better or if you just chose not to show it. Keep up the awesome and inspiring work.
All of your sponsors need to know that you guys are the best investment they have ever made
+WhyJay4X4 Great point! I have a long list of gear that I am picking up over time and will certainly look to the products that I've seen in action first. Not many places to see gear in real world use.

Great Episode. Fantastic series. Thanks for sharing
The techinical rescue of that tacoma was outstanding.

Great work everyone.
As a fellow Taco owner, it was awesome to see the truck climb those slick hills better than the other trucks!
Half of that was driver experience. Jeff was at the wheel. If he was driving one of the 4Runners, we both know the result would have been the same.
Oh for the love of lockers! You guys have mastered the art of the cliff hanger for sure. High fives from Konza Overland!
Sweet, this made my night. Watching now, keep up the great work dudes! I wear my XO hat 5 days a week 6 months running now.
Excellent episode, as always. I really appreciate the drone footage, the views and angles you achieve are so impressive.
+Ratchety I agree, that drone footage is unreal!!! Sweet bit of tech there!
Im a little sad that you guys missed some great spots in Costa Rica, but it seems like you guys enjoyed your visit to this beautiful country as much as i enjoyed watching it!! And as we costarican say, pura vida!!
Hope you guys enjoyed our little patch of rain forest and had a good time, awesome production and filming, greetings from Costa Rica
Great episode, will watch it over and over till next episode! see you all next week.
The episodes are getting more and more intense. Love what you guys are doing.
Best episode of the season, thanks guys!
I was counting the days for this episode. By far it's my favorite. Now I'm certain I could have some fun in my GX.
Love the mud. Need to get the episodes on DVD it would be a good Christmas present for my Dad

I love this video. Great adventuring, superb driving and unforgettable scenery!

Looked like some muddy fun! Glad y'all made it safely out of there!
awesome episode guys, loved all of the off road aspects. so enjoyable thanx
Great episode! You guys and your cliff hangers...
Guys, great episode, best one so far and they just keep getting better!
Dang it! Wish these episodes were longer. Great job guys... I think I like this channel almost as much as walking dead. See yall next Wednesday :-)
I don't understand why you guys don't have more subscribers. Content is amazing. And I'm watching this in 2020. 👌
Nice episode team...Tacoma to the rescue!
just...awesome. Thanks, guys. Great episode.
You all are amazing, you should do London the Cap town. I have a large garage in London you can use if you ever did want to do it!
It's really great to see you visited Mariato, in my home Province, Veraguas. Proud to be Panamanian!!
Beautiful guys! Excellent!
Superb, I cant wait for next week !

THIS episode reminds me of the good 'ol eastern MT gumbo mud!
that recovery wow!!! awesome job guys!!
Dude... yeah gotta stop leaving me hanging like that. See ya'll next week. :)
Another great episode, keep it up guys!
finally some real off roading in the series, i feel like the past episodes have just been documentaries
Jeff did that hill like a boss
great work getting across that bridge guys. one tip though, you should be using rope blankets while winching/snatching for safety, incase anything lets go.
Another great episode!
Some great driving in this episode
I love this series! This is what made me buy a Toyota and not a jeep.
+MMR Tactical
toyotas are legendary offroad, i am gonna get a tacoma
I got an FJ, love the Taco's...
+B vu The Prado of Adrian is better All Terrain vehicle that the Tacoma
Very cool episode Gents!
Hell yes, one of the best episodes yet.
1. Does the Tacoma have a locking diff?
2. These 4Runners seem to pale in comparison to the Tacoma.
To bad Y'All were on such a tight schedule. Costa Rica was extremely Scenic. I'd also like to see more of the scenery in Panama.
4:36 should be Jeff's cover photo for his facebook. such awesomeness in that shot.
Really happy to see y'all finally gettin some. Next time spend two episodes of border crossings and 10 episodes of the off-roading instead of the opposite. Otherwise really great stuff and I always enjoy the narration.

7:53 Prado’s like “whatever”. It didn’t even notice it was raining.
awesome !!!
thats tacoma is a monster!
Love that Taco
Sweet muddier action and great scenery! I got the feeling your wheeling guides were not overly friendly...........
+Matt Keikkala on the contrary, these guys are awesome and have become great friends.
+ExpeditionOverland Good to hear, maybe it was just because there were no campfire camaraderie scenes like with the other folks you've met! Keep up the great work, I'm not looking forward to the "looming" end of this season! I'm sure I'm not the only one interested in next season!!
+ExpeditionOverland by any chance the magazine the guy hernan worked for was Puro Motor?
It's way worse here in Costa Rica when travelling alone lads, very intimidating
the end was cool Toyota vs nissan lol the expedition vs the gate keeper
Dang! That mud reminds me of the Ohio clay here. Slicker than owl shit on a greased window.
Bravo!!!!! super vid. Under 100 I am happy with that. LOL
Come onnnn know I have to wait a complete week 😡😡😡, killer channel btw
This takes some amazing skill, I love this stuff! Really great program! Makes me want to get some MaxTrax for my Subaru Outback...:-)
awesome episode
AWESOME *****
Ahh this was one fun and messy episode! Just how I like it
Bet you would have loved MT's for that ordeal!
Damn cliffhanger, now I have to keep watching.
I love that Tacoma
Those trucks are so sick! Im a taco guy, as i know Clay is too. Hey Clay, you on Tacoma World?
esos cauchos tan listos, con razon!!
That was intense.
Well, so far I know I need two items to carry with me: Two pairs of Maxtraxs and two Kinetic Recovery Rope. I have most everything else for the time being.
Did you miss Guanacaste? You NEED to visit Santa Rosa's National Park! Roca Bruja is a mandatory road!
this makes me want to pack up my wife and kid in my jeep and just go somewhere
do it you will never regret it as much as not doing it.
+TheRp424 Get consent. Will help with border crossings and traffic stops!

+s50201 Mud lasts longer than rain - they had no other choice.
+s50201 Im cringing at the sandals more, so much on vehicle born equipment and no one in proper footwear.
+Dinosawrs Are Awesome - did you even watch the whole film? They explained why they weren't wearing pants or shoes.
+theblacklines No disadvantage to splitting the party and meeting at a safer crossing.
+Dinosawrs Are Awesome - it is clear you didn't watch the whole thing. They changed course completely after this incident.
Bet you guys were wishing you opted for the Mud Terrain tires!

+Russell Colbert the 4runners pulled the tacoma equally as much i would say its just how the footage worked out. The 4runners performed great overall. Tire pressures would have made a bigger difference on the 4runners. the Tacoma was at 20 psi. Thanks for watching Russell!
Good to know!
As for me, it makes me want to buy a Prado :) It never stuck anywhere, besides the "bridge pull".
I have an FJ and it preforms like a champion.
The Tacoma was also supercharged so it had more power
@14:38 to 14: 45 watch the stuff falling out of tacoma the right side window is open. did you guys collect the stuff back ?
+suri poks of course! Thats production equipment!
Is that blue one a land cruiser? Did it just have zero trouble?
Best damn videos on UA-cam!
Some great shots with the 4runners splashing water, any chance you guys could upload some HD pictures or something alike ? :D
Cool
TACOMA RULES!
+ExpeditionOverland If you guys decide to continue into South America, let me know! My dad is in Colombia and he has a 1998 Cherokee. I am sure he would be more than happy to help you guys find places to stay, or find places to see.
Looked like that Prado took that wet hill no problemo.
When did the windshield crack in the Tacoma?
I believe that more aggressive tires would have helped a lot during this expedition
I'm crazy about your videos. The footage is amazing quality, and the whole crew is extremely intelligent. I'm in the process of purchasing a 2016 Tacoma TRD Off Road Series. awesome! I would love to do this with a group of my buds. U gotta quit leaving us hanging at the end of every episode. Trust me we are gonna keep watching without that.
I really think a light mud terrain tire would have been beneficial for this trip
how did you guys cope with poor fuel quality in central america, and the supercharger in tacoma. any issues?
what kind of tents do u guys have mounted to the trucks that just come up and do they stay very dry inside
Toyota Prado teaching 4runners how to offload!

great expedition! exciting to watch...what kind of tires were you guys running on your Yota's?
