I used to think MaxTrax were a waste of money until I actually saw them in action, in what I thought was impassible mud. Now I'd go for them before winching and even just pulling someone through - they're amazing! I love that they can stop you from sliding into ruts in the mud, and you can even bridge with them. Plus they look cool on the vehicle, and we all know that's most important.
If you sit on the sidelines...life will pass you by. If you wait until have the perfect equipment...you won't have the experience to appreciate it. Excuses give nothing. Adventure is what you make it. Overland Minivan
For now, my version of "overlanding" is an '06 2wd Matrix and assorted old camping & backpacking gear, and I go out weekends whenever I can fit it in. I think what unites us is the desire for travel and self-reliance to make it happen. Looking forward to the new series!
I am impressed by your self awareness, +ExpeditionOverland. I enjoyed the last season but found myself missing the simple fun of the first seasons. The major expeditions and adventures are great but I was wanting to see something closer to home. Now you are doing just that! Thanks for remembering your roots and not getting caught up in fame or stardom!
Great video guys. I really appreciate what was said regarding elitism; it's nice to hear it coming from guys such as yourself who are stocked to the hilt with really high end gear. Overland truly is a frame of mind and above all should be about the adventure and about having fun. Cheers!
Three things: Clay is the man! Tundra... YES!!! That CBI bumper on Rufio is siiiiiiiiiiiick! Absolutely fantastic first episode and so looking forward to the rest. Thanks for sharing your hard work XO!
Great new series - change is good! If you are through changing you are through! And we as overlanders are more than travelers. We hunt, fish, trap, ATV, Sled and are outdoor naturalists at heart.
I would be cool to see you guys take the tundra (stock) overlanding a bit. You guys are pushing the idea that overlanding is not an elite sport so why not do an episode with ground tents and middle class style rigs. I would love to see what you guys could do with the middle class over landers. Plus Nemo equipment might be able to hook y'all up with some cool gear. Stoked to see what the new series brings.
Love the new series you guys have been a big inspiration to my wife and I. We didn't know about overland before running across one of your videos now we are hooked. Currently building a 1994 ram 1500. Keep up the good work!!
I agree with you, I miss the more "grass roots" XO. That's the kind of stuff that got me inspired to fix something up and go explore. The newer stuff is good content just different. They also have a LOT of sponsors they probably need to keep happy to keep getting gear.
I love your openning statement. A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing grows there! Such a true statement. We never strengthen ourselves, learn to be a help to others or learn about those wonderful things our creator has in store for us, if we never leave our comfort zone! I love how your team works together, how you have chosen not to sell out to big networks etc, because you beleave it's not ethical or an honest depiction of reality! Your Christian values make this a wonderful show. I am looking forward to meeting your team again at the NW overland rally in Wa again this summer. (I was the guy that won the winch on fri night in the game show!)
You just keep me coming back for more. Keep up the great work and cant wait to see a Tundra in the lineup. Nowhere but forward, getting outside, and making memories with friends.
I have to say, although I love every episode you guys have done, this is one of my favorites. I love your explanation of overlander. My wife and I unfortunately don't have the big name sponsorships, or any for that matter. But we get out any chance we get to enjoy the country, travel, sites, and most importantly...Making memories with our little one. Keep up the great work Gents!
Literally discovered this channel after buying my 4Runner and used a lot of their build for my own. I recently switched to a Tundra and now this...Damn you Clay! Just take all my money
You guys inspired my family of four to take a spur of the moment trip from Edmonton, Alberta to the Grand Canyon last week. We thought of you as we passed through Montana. Keep up the amazing work you do. So appreciated!
Clay, I love how you spoke towards the "elitism" that can so easily creep into this passion that so many of us share. Ya'll have been truly blessed, as you stated. Anyone who has been watching you and the team from day one of your channel will know that no one with XO feels like they are part of "The Elite". You all constantly show humility, the desire to learn more, and most importantly, having fun. Love the new series already, and I am still hoping that one day, our paths will cross. Until then, stay safe, stay strong, and keep exploring.
Totally agree with this. I had the chance to meet Clay and Jeff at the Toyota booth at the Bassmaster Show in Houston last year. Both are very genuine, down-to-earth guys, exactly how they come across in the show. It was obvious to me through meeting them that they're very appreciative of the support they've been given by the fans of the show.
Awesome job guys! A big truck like that would be awesome decked out with an RV body, but for sure a tundra is more practical. Awesome job with the shooting Jeff! Can’t wait for the next one, written from the other frozen, snow ridden tundra of Minnesota!!!!!
13:16 - Awesome convo. Glad you guys brought that up! Some of us have the rigs but it just takes a lot of time and experience to get to these levels so it’s pretty cool you mentioned you don’t want elitism to be a factor in the term itself. 👌🏼
I love this new series. There's a lot to see right here in America and, being from Ohio, I love seeing all the cool places out west, which is the area I truly love.
Awesome. Loved seeing the Acela in action - also liked seeing the rifles come out. You guys are a great inspiration to other aspiring adventurers, even if we are a bit jelly of all your gucci kit lol Given that all my off road adventuring so far and for the foreseeable future has been/will be done in my 99 CR-V daily driver Craigslist special, I appreciate that you guys support a non-elitist view of overlanding. Cheers!
Great insight and outlook on what it is to "overland". Happy to hear you guys touch on sponsorships and having the "best gear", and how the journey itself is the destination. We're leaving for a 6 week coast to coast trip in two weeks, all off road. Your channel was a top inspiration!
Great first show and I think this will be a great series! The out of country, massive trips are awesome but these bring a different type of great potential in the more realistic what us as the average viewer will do. But as for the first episode I enjoyed it. What’s not to like about cool vehicles, guns, and a ranch away from civilization for a bit!
That I have loved every second of video shot on the expeditions, is no secret. But this... This is what I've been craving to see from you guys. Just going out and having fun! Can't wait to see what this series brings!! ....and I must have missed when Rufio got that beautiful facelift!!!
Super well done! This should be on Netflix or something. The production quality is definitely there. People always wonder how we survive the Montana winters, and this is exactly how, you've just got to get out in it and not let it get you stuck inside. Looking forward to Ep2.
I got to say, I just got out of the hospital being just diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. Seeing this new vireo is awesome, You guys always have so much fun and the best adventures. Keep doing what you are doing, I can't wait till the next video.
This is your best Video yet and I love em all, It's good to see a great bunch of guys out there doing their thing, I think the Army Guy is pretty cool and chilled out, he looks at home in that Truck,One thing I did like was seeing you guys using the same gear I got, Just one thing I saw on another video is that some guy was playing in a jeep and he had bead locks fitted but he actually dropped his Tyre pressures down to 5 or 6 psi in the Snow and it made a huge difference compared to 12 to 20 psi, and he was driving over Snow about 30" deep, Hope that helps and thanks for this incredible Video. and say Hi to everyone for me, Stay safe.
It has been a long time since an average person would be able to use your adventures to help them plan their first travel adventure. You said it, you guys are the elite version of overlanding, cheating at times if you ask me. I am from Michigan, we have a place in Copper Harbor in the Keweenaw Peninsula, and a 7 mile crazy road to a point called High Rock Bay the most Northern Tip of Michigan. Overlanding is traveling with whatever means you have to find adventure. I have seen a 2003 Ford Focus do what many people think they need 4x4 to do. That is the essence of overlanding if you ask me. I have always appreciated your quality of cinema and adventure, but you guys are so far fetched for normal people to acquire. I feel like if you want to reach the masses use the skills you have learned and gained and do it in jalopies, now that would be entertaining.
Omg! TUNDRA! YESSSSSSS FINAALLLLYYYY! I've been waiting so long! 35s are perfect. I have 35x13, and transfer flow. Without my 4.88s installed so far I'm at 13.5MPG looking forward to seeing what that will put me at. Carl's said 20% gain. So should be a good long range vehicle!
Extremely versatile tool!!! They have a cost, but what a time saver in so many ways!!! Nice to use them before you get stuck as well.
If you sit on the sidelines...life will pass you by.
If you wait until have the perfect equipment...you won't have the experience to appreciate it.
Excuses give nothing.
Adventure is what you make it.
Overland Minivan
Absolutely. Well said. Keep exploring !
Playing in the snow with phenomenal music and shooting guns. Best weekend trip ever.
For now, my version of "overlanding" is an '06 2wd Matrix and assorted old camping & backpacking gear, and I go out weekends whenever I can fit it in. I think what unites us is the desire for travel and self-reliance to make it happen. Looking forward to the new series!
Just getting out is what matters. Keep exploring and enjoying,

It's 01:30 AM here in Italy, I'm just relaxing during my night duty, watching your new series...oooouuu yeah!
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Sky Soldiers!
Where in Italy?
In your own backyard is some of the best fun you can have. So glad you made a video like this. Thanks guys! My boy Christian says HEY, Ty!
I am impressed by your self awareness, +ExpeditionOverland. I enjoyed the last season but found myself missing the simple fun of the first seasons. The major expeditions and adventures are great but I was wanting to see something closer to home. Now you are doing just that! Thanks for remembering your roots and not getting caught up in fame or stardom!
lumpskie It was the early trips in Montana, Idaho, and Utah that pulled me in to this channel.
That is what drew us all in. It is about local exploring. But it is also about exploring our large world and the people and the beauty.
Snow, 4WDs, skis, and guns, looked like a fun trip to me!
I like the first priority - 'relaxing'. So many people worry about destination to destination, without taking much of it in.
Tundra!!! Yes! Love love love your guys content, keep up the great work and stay humble.
Great video guys. I really appreciate what was said regarding elitism; it's nice to hear it coming from guys such as yourself who are stocked to the hilt with really high end gear. Overland truly is a frame of mind and above all should be about the adventure and about having fun. Cheers!

Hey Crew! We are so excited about this new series! This trip was a blast and we are stoked to share it with you! Enjoy! -XO Team

oh snaps... Bout to get some popcorn, call the fam and chill for the next 30 mins.. Cheers!
I want to see every moment of a Tundra build. Great idea.

You just keep me coming back for more. Keep up the great work and cant wait to see a Tundra in the lineup. Nowhere but forward, getting outside, and making memories with friends.
Your every single new video is better than the previous. Keep up the insane work. Keep overlanding.
I can't wait to see what comes from the overlanders adventures.
I have to say, although I love every episode you guys have done, this is one of my favorites. I love your explanation of overlander. Snow is a blast. It's also difficult and unpredictable. Great job guys!
Awesome job guys! A big truck like that would be awesome decked out with an RV body, but for sure a tundra is more practical. Awesome job with the shooting Jeff! Can’t wait for the next one, written from the other frozen, snow ridden tundra of Minnesota!!!!!

As a tundra owner I have to say it would be awesome to see what you guys would come up with.
My favorite UA-cam channel, bar none! The videography and narration is extremely well done! Thanks guys!
Epic....that's the only way to describe your adventures!
That looked like a ton of fun and right in your back yard.

Great rifles, trucks , and friends. Glad to see you are LIVING!
Thank you!

I find this local focus so much more appealing then the last couple of seasons. Great job keep it up!
It’s all about enjoying the moment.
That LC looks SO GOOD OMG
Omg!
