    I think intermitent coolant issue is due to some cooling loop outside the main cooling loop. As soon as that sub-cooling loop turns on the cab leaks coolant.. Try checking under the hood ri8 when the truck is giving electrical issues.

    There are 2 plastic lines. One goes to the compressor. They can develope a pin hole. They'll squirt coolant under high pressure. It will be a fine spray. They're also quick disconnect/connect. Best to replace them since they're hard plastic.

    The 202 has so much construction and closures is why your gps won't recognize it., try trucker route it will take you there (and the 202 still sucks). Phoenix is always a cop magnet drive normal and you won't ever have to talk to them....this would include turn signals, working brakes (lights) and breaks, and SCALING the truck. Having driven 17,18,19s (and had leaks that were a problem) there are FOUR little hoses that come off the dash into a little block for all four, it or the hoses will come just a little loose (and it won't leak until it gets to the higher end of normal range). Take it to the freighliner DEALER (had mechanics from three DIFFERENT companies who could not find it), they can find it in about 5 minutes!

  • @MikeBrown-ii3pt

    I don't have any experience with the newer Detroits but the older Series 60s, especially the 12.7L, were NOTORIOUS for losing coolant! My first tractor was Cummins powered, my second had a 12.7 Detroit and that engine swore me off of Detroit for life. Coolant leaks were the main reason. It also popped it's turbo under 100k miles but that was a supplier problem, not a Detroit problem.
    Also, I'd be willing to bet that more than 50% of drivers carry. I know I do!

    I had that same violent leak on my 2019 Cascadia. Also that abs traction control problem. The antifreeze leak was so small u couldn’t see coolant on ground but I was loosing a gallon everyday. It turned into a pin hole and u could see a little stream under pressure. Easy fix. The traction abs was checked at freightliner but they didn’t fix it and said it was good.

      Mike Brown yes they are the old series 60 Mercedes bought them out still running under the badge of Detroit they just put a Mercedes head on it and ruined the whole show.
      Poor wiring bad engine redesign has cost freightliner a fortune and even after all these years still have the same problems, they also use this engine in the new actross so look out

    • @MikeBrown-ii3pt
      @MikeBrown-ii3pt 4 роки тому +1

      @@petershute3580 I'm not worried about it. I bought a 2001 Freightliner FLD120 brand new when I wanted to add a 2nd tractor. It had a 12.7 Detroit. After all of the coolant leaks, a bad turbo (under 100k miles) and the fact that the old M11Celect Plus in my 1st tractor would out pull the larger Detroit, I traded that one off as soon as it was paid for. Nothing but Cummins power for me ever since. The turbo was a supplier issue. No fault of Detroit. It was just one more thing to put the tractor in the shop for a couple days instead of making money. The dealer did give me a loaner though. They all have their problems, it just seems that Cummins has less problems. I also still own the original tractor and take it on a run now and then.

Probably Florida participates. ...and West Virginia is open carry most everyone 18 and up and probably some other states. I trust you would not get in a shoot out over trailer contents. Super value stuff flies anyway. I visit a friend (before COVID) every month in his 20th year in min security who got in a shoot out and could not explain well enough. I don't believe they will let me have a concealed permit but this being NC, I can have a 44 carbine and do ... or AR15 or anything like that. Not a driver myself, retired engineer. The leak is a weeper that you can’t see and only shows up when you put pressure on the system when driving coming from heat of the coolant. The leaks can’t be seen some are because the clamps needed to be tightened up others may be a little fine weeper. If you put a pressurizer on the system and then pump it up you will find all of the leaks. I had one weeper on the passenger side of the motor then 8 clamps were loose causing me to have the same problem you are having.

      If you get a screw driver and do a little investigating of your own you might be able to fix the problem yourself by tightening all the clamps on your coolant system. Sometimes they loosen up over time from the engine heating up and cooling. This will help you until you get to use a pressurizer to find the weeper. Let your mechanic know what to look for. The leaks will cause other problems like bringing in your low level coolant alarm, your check engine lite and effect your electrical systems in some cases. You will learn these things and these symptoms as you get experience. The weeper that I had kept causing my large belt to shred which caused a two hour breakdown a few times. You wouldn’t be able to find these problems during a PTI but you did notice the white marks which means you have a leak somewhere. Listen to what your truck is telling you. You called it out a few times but there are things you can do while out on the road which can keep you moving. Preventive maintenance is the name of the game. Don’t be afraid to get your hands a little dirty.

    Why doesn't the company give you that 2020 VNL 860 that they promised??? I don't get it. Cascadias have many well known issues and people still buy them. 🤦🏼‍♂️🙂

    The Lamborghini on the open car hauler was actually an Aventador not a Huracan, but your price range was pretty close! Crazy to see it on an open car hauler. Almost makes me wonder if it was repoed or had been in a wreck that damaged the side of the car we couldn't see

    Does anyone know why states have different laws regarding trucking? Wouldn't it be easier if they were all the same since trucking is mostly done cross state borders?

    I had the same problem on my 2019 Cascadia with the coolant sensor check light. I ended up moving around the coolant sensor and the check engine light turned off. It's been 1 week and check engine hasn't came back on yet. So it looks like it's a sensor problem.

    I'm no mechanic but I can tell you that your coolant sensor is probably bad and possibly other sensor(s) has been damaged from the coolant leaking in the engine. Fixing the coolant leak and replacing the sensor(s) that have gone bad will stop the faulty engine codes from triggering. I have had coolant leak and oil leak issues before, they are a bich if you don't get them fixed early enough.
