I don't know what to say. This is likely his first time playing. I would likely lose a good part of my army every time I fought one of these bosses for the fist time. This game after all, is harder than the other 3 pikmin games IMO. Because in Pikmin 2 you had purple pikmin that could slaughter anything with ease; and in Pikmin 3 the bosses also don't appear to have the highest defense of all time.

But damn, I actually find it hard to fathom how someone can do this poorly against the bosses in this game. I know some of them can require a lot of practice to avoid losing ANY pikmin to, but you were actually reduced to a mere 5 pikmin left against the Smoky Progg because rather than stick to small numbers against it, you just threw in an entire army and let them all die.

I'll never fight that thing solely because it exterminates all your pikmin at an alarming, that and it's really hard to watch all these pikmin die to one boss, like at that point what's the point of facing it.
The hardest boss throughout this whole game was the daddy longleg. It's so hard to see where he's going step and especially with a group of Pikmin behind you. There's absolutely no way to beat this boss flawlessly unlike all the others.
The Smokey Progg is definitely tougher, like, I don’t think anybody has beaten it without losing at least a few pikmin, while daddy long legs is easy to beat without losing any pikmin.

And most people say just look at the shadows to where his feet is dropping down but let's just say you had about 50 or more pikmin with you... Trying to navigate them without getting stepped on, Every time I lose about probably 6 to 8 pikmins in this fight.

Beedy Long-legs, Burrowing Snagret, Goolix, and Emperor Bulblax all vanished without a corpse left after death, and leaving behind no soul... This seems intentional, I don't think the developers didn't add their souls because they were lazy, they all left no corpse too, so that's what happened to them in Pikmin 1, now what's interesting is that the new Beedy Long-legs, and the new Burrowing Snagrets, and Emperor Bulblaxes found in Pikmin 2 all left behind a soul after death, in the meantime, Goolix is no where to be found. Goolix could very well be the Umibozu, who went to become the Water Wraith, the question that needs to be answered is did the Water Wraith leave a soul after death? If it did, it will the Umibozu's complete soul, if not, then at least part of it.
I've never personally fought the smoky program but you lost 151 pikmin though the gold pearl does give a bunch but still that's a heavy loss here's to grinding pikmin

smokey progg is an add in boss. wasn't in the GameCube version. Also there were only 2 snagrets in the GameCube version. I remember being little and waiting for pikmin2 to finally come out. both were amazing games.
Ok so, right now I’m beating all the Pikmin games (Pikmin, Pikmin 2, Pikmin 3, and Hey! Pikmin) I haven’t played Pikmin in a while, so you would expect me to do bad? I’m not gonna go and say I’m the best... Mediocre at most. When I completed Pikmin, I lost a total of 108 Pikmin. That is really bad. If I were to choose my favorite Pikmin game in the franchise, I would pick Pikmin 2, probably because it is not a 2D plat former,and it’s the longest between them all. So yeah, as you can tell, I love Pikmin.
I understand now, you're not very good at fighting the bosses. So I'll give you some tips. #1 Call the mushroom Pikmin with your whistle to turn back to normal Pikmin, #2 You can wait till Beady Longlegs gets tired, and till Burrowing Snagret gets stuck in the ground while coming back up, then you'll want to attack them, #3 For the Goolix, you can stretch his body, and hit his soft organism to give a great amount of damage. Hope that helps. Yet Emperor Bulblax was not all that bad.

The Emperor Bulblax was so hard in Pikmin 1 but so easy in Pikmin 2. A lot of my yellow Pikmin undertook suicide missions in order to take down the behemoth.

Puffstool: Call back the Pikmin before the Puffstool flips back over to prevent the Pikmin from being infected.
Beady Longlegs: Use a small group of yellows, about thirty, for maneuverability.
Armored Cannon Beetle: Use reds instead of blues; reds have more attack power
Burrowing Snagret: Wait for the Snagret appear but get stuck in the ground, and swarm its head. Otherwise, run out of its reach.
Goolix: Attack the weird brain thing, NOT the pearl. The brain causes easily more damage.
Mamuta: Dismiss Pikmin near it, but don’t worry. Not only is it harmless, but it flowers buds and leaves. Let it bury as many as you can, then, kill it off.
Smoky Progg: Use a small squad of blues to attack the egg. After it shakes, immediately head back to base and trade your squad of blues for as many reds as you can, because of their higher attack power. The Progg will go to the base, go near one of the Onions, and roar. Attack him then, but before he starts moving again, call the Pikmin off.
Emperor Bulblax: With a large squad of reds as close as possible to the outside of the arena, toss one yellow with a bomb just outside of the reach of Bulblax. When it goes to eat Pikmin, the yellow will throw the bomb into its mouth, saving a yellow Pikmin.

smokey progg is an add in boss. wasn't in the GameCube version. Also there were only 2 snagrets in the GameCube version. I remember being little and waiting for pikmin2 to finally come out. both were amazing games.
Ok so, right now I’m beating all the Pikmin games (Pikmin, Pikmin 2, Pikmin 3, and Hey! Pikmin)
I haven’t played Pikmin in a while, so you would expect me to do bad?
I’m not gonna go and say I’m the best... Mediocre at most. When I completed Pikmin, I lost a total of 108 Pikmin. That is really bad.
If I were to choose my favorite Pikmin game in the franchise, I would pick Pikmin 2, probably because it is not a 2D plat former,and it’s the longest between them all.
So yeah, as you can tell, I love Pikmin.

I understand now, you're not very good at fighting the bosses. So I'll give you some tips.
#1 Call the mushroom Pikmin with your whistle to turn back to normal Pikmin,
#2 You can wait till Beady Longlegs gets tired, and till Burrowing Snagret gets stuck in the ground while coming back up, then you'll want to attack them,
#3 For the Goolix, you can stretch his body, and hit his soft organism to give a great amount of damage.

The Emperor Bulblax was so hard in Pikmin 1 but so easy in Pikmin 2. A lot of my yellow Pikmin undertook suicide missions in order to take down the behemoth.
I remember playing this on my Wii. But then I gave it away to my friend for her birthday.
