I have an SV650X 2019, here are my three best reasons why I think its a great bike... 1) rock solid durability 2) clean cafe look that gets me 60mpg highway 3) great sound with awesome power
My 3rd gen SV650 *can* still hang with other super bikes, but at 200 kph (125 mph) and up, the vibration is very much obvious (as expected) and it's already 'sweating' when the others are just 'warming up' lol but the handling is superb, V-Twin = Fun, and nimble enough to be ridden by both beginners and even experienced riders just looking for pure riding fun.
This is not a bike for 200kmh, on my second generation anything above 140kmh is just painfull due to wind force. I bet inside city limits or canyon twisties your friends dont run away from you even if riding bikes twice the power of the sv
I bought a new leftover 2018 model, black with red frame, for $5,800 out the door. Love it! Only wish I have is the seat could be thicker and more comfortable since I’m 6 feet tall.
I like that Suzuki doesn't put plastic junk all over the gas tank like everyone else. I don't know if they're fake air scoops or fake radiator shrouds or just styling junk but the simple, classic Suzuki tank looks nice. I'd bet it's a blast to ride being 60 pounds lighter than my 2007 VStrom 650.
I had a Fist Gen Sv650. It was a decent bike. I always was a fan of Suzuki. They were always doing something different than Kawi and Honda. I never "loved" it though. Then I got a 3rd Gen, I picked up the 2019 SV650X...and I love that bike. It's just an SV650, but the look is stellar. It's a beautiful bike on top of being the great SV650. The paintjob on this bike is amazing, the front cowl...it stands out among bikes, even when parked next to other SV650's. I own 8 bikes. Of those, nearly all of them have changed over the years, but I have always had an SV650 in my fleet. I have chinese bikes, even the new Husqvarna 401...and I still get a lot of ride time on the SV. It's just a great bike. It's not high tech, it's not over-engineered...that's what Suzuki does best. I recently got a 2020 Katana, and it's classic Suzuki. But I still ride my SV650. Even though the other companies have a bike like it, the Z650 or the CB650R...the SV feels different. If bikes were girlfriends...yeah.
The only thing i think is better on the mt07 is the maintnance. Valve checks every 42000km and on sv 24000km. Also, having two oposed cylinders means more time checking valves and more gaskets to replace even thoung the engine access is a lot easier on the sv650. Oil changes shoul be more frequent but i wouldnt leave an oil more than 6000km on a motorbike anyway even though many brands reccomend oil changes every 12000km nowadays
@@SmallEngineVelocity No I'm looking into riding. And I was looking at the Japanese the Japanese 4. I know I don't want the Honda inline 4, I looked at the MT 07, and the Kawasaki 650 both being parallel. Now I'm looking at the SV650 (90° V twin), and I noticed that you were a local guy.
@@SmallEngineVelocity hi pal, had 2019 CB500f that I'd sold privately 2 weeks ago. I kinda like the MT07 and even test rode one the other day as well, but Suzuki UK is having a discount on their bikes til December I think, I was drawn to the savings of about a grand brand new. There's not many SV's about at the minute and all dealers near me don't have a demo, so I just took the plunge and basically bought it without even ridden one lol, I'm totally relying on reviews on UA-cam so fingers crossed, but thanks for the heads up much appreciated I think I will like it 😁👍
@@ridehead8771 how are you liking the sv650? I have an sfv650 gladius and it’s my first bike for the past year and a half. This bike has been a ton of fun and looks like a Ducati monster.

Good reasons ! Especially #1
@@SmallEngineVelocity Are you guys running the Yoshi Alpha slip-on without the Db Killer ?!
I have a blue and white 09 Gladius I bought for 2500 a year ago with 6k miles and now it has 23k miles still going strong and sparkly clean.
I intend to keep my bike and see if I can get it to 50k miles !!

Anyways liked the video, the most honest and practical reasons I've found.
Im watching this review even tho i own a 2020 sv650 i bought a year ago 😊

Seat = first mod. I rode the stock seat 600+ miles and my butt hurt so bad. 2018 is better than my 2017 since it has the front brake updates
Same.

Nice mirrors 👌👌 where did you get them?
Nothing superficial about that, brother, looks matter (and that one looks great, and sounds even better!) 😊✌

You sound like someone I would like living near me so I could work on bikes with. lol
@@SmallEngineVelocity . Sadly, I'm in Arizona.
Good review. What seat do you have on that bike?
Corbin seat and it came with the bike. I hear its like 500 dollars. Bike came with two other full seats also, stock and some Gel seat.
What brand mirrors are those? Do u like them better than stock?
Hi Ceasar I know like It's fast and custom built it your self!
What are those mirrors please? Thank you
I want to get a kawasaki z400 or 650. Similar bike
Similar kind of bike but different engine design. Still both good bikes also.
You'll get tired of that z400 quick.. Get the 650..

On my Piaggio mp3 restore it and going custom built the way I like it! Ceasar
Nice mirrors! What is the name of them? Thanks
If you like it, that's all that really matters. Right? Whatever happened to that Lifan cruiser bike you had? I liked that one
At my brothers and will be returned soon
What are these mirrors called?
Suzuki copied the design of the Ducati Monster without its flaws, hence you get the best of both worlds with the SV650. :)
Im happy they added water cooling. If I'm not wrong the Ducati monster is air cooled?
Dude are you in Tomball Texas???...I'm in Klein.
I’m in Klein in Champion Forrest , you ride an SV650 ?
