- I Know there are a lot of oil change videos for the Gen3 Suzuki SV650 but I decided to make one and add some tips and specs that may prove important for someone looking to do there oil change themselves.
I know I was messy in my oil change but I cleaned it up. Suzuki in the manual recommends you change your oil every year or 6,000 miles and your filter every other oil chnage but I say change it as often as you want as long as you change your oil. Please see the link for other things you should check every so often. I didn't know you needed to inspect and change your fuel line! Makes sense tho.
ENJOY!

Always lube your filter gasket. It makes it not dry out onto the block. Which makes it harder to get the filter off. You also shouldn't use a wrench to install the filter😬. After it pressurizes, you'll play hell getting it back off. Especially if you don't lube the gasket. I've crushed many a filter to half their size after others have made these 2 common mistakes. Lube gasket and hand tight filter make it easier for the next time around
Hand tight is hard with the 17mm nut on the end. My dad showed me to lube the gasket , wasn’t sure if that was just him or if it was something lots of people do. Thanks foe the confirmation pal.
I use aluminum foil on the pipe to keep oil off. runs right off into the pan. Great video bro!
Thanks! I was intimidated by doing maintenance on my own bike and this video helped me realize it’s not going to be difficult!
It's not hard for sure. Take your time, use the right tools and supplies, you will do great.
Overall great video but it is recommended to only tighten the filter with your hand. The hex on the k&n is really only for removal. But otherwise great job! 4:13
I've seen people use brake cleaner to clean oil off the exhaust pipe, seems to work fairly well.
Enjoyed the video man whatever was wrong with my UA-cam I've got it fixed I can now hit the like button again thanks Caesar
